Remove all passive movement speed buffs
Passive movement isn’t the problem; its the amount of escape skills. [teleports, stealth and (leaps & charges while not targetting someone)]
Would be more fun if it wasn’t so easy for anyone to disengage rather than some classes be the kings of escape; leaving others with none.
Some people will say: “But thieves are so squishy; they need escape to survive”
I would say: “Your offense is your best defense combined with your evades and dodges.”
On that same note; some classes would be OP if they made this change because they can become invulnerable during a fight while other classes can’t.
Mesmers can go invulnerable and still attack when using one of their shatters. They can reset this shatter using a signet. It will reset again at 50% health if traited.
ANet has huge disparities between their classes and there’s no way to scale those back without making people upset. Question is “Who exactly are they making happy right now?” and “How many people will they make happy in the long run?”.

Smite has had plenty of escapes added.Gods like Thor.Fenrir, Apollo are well known for it… not to mention teleport scrolls, combat blink and shielded Recall. Oh and leaps/teleports in Smite letting you go through walls can make GW2 mobility look tame at times.
Honestly people don’t move so fast that skill shots are a real issue landing (flight time is what makes that an issue). Especially with the size of some aoe fields (traited marks).
Personally I think some profs have more swiftness access than their “role” would dictate but it’s pretty meager. The only real issue in mobility is the distribution of rushes,leaps, and teleports.

I understand what the OP is saying, but there is an even ground as it is. Your suggestion will slow down and dumb down the gameplay. I am no fan of thieves and mesmers with teleports, but that’s their speciality and also really cool to see when used correctly. The same goes for the other movement abilities. The only thing I can agree on is to remove the passives and maybe have swiftness down to 25% to bring down the game a notch for newer players.

Thor has one teleport, fenrir has one jump. Apollo has one gap creator. The Thor and Apollo jump across the map skills are ultis with an incredibly long cooldown.

I would like a better standard speed as long as classes can not achieve permanent swiftness anymore.

Yes same here as well, thieves move incredibly fast while cloaked, which makes them so hard to kill. Needs to be standard 25%, right now it exceeds 33%, I swear it does.
I feel I feel obliged to point out that I have been saying the same thing for some time now, and that gw1 did it right.
