Can you remove people without elite specs from ranked matches? I am tired of having them on my team and lowering my win chances. At the very least try to put people without HoT/elite specs into their own teams so I dont have to play with them.

how about we just ban all people from ranked who run bad builds, elite spec or no? with your idea all those hipster berserkers would still be able to play ranked and ruin everything.

Well, at first ANET said everybody could have done spvp without HoT, but the fact is who does not have HoT can’t.

Today on the last match to Sapphire i had 3 guardian in team.
One said he was bunker/healer, and with his spec tried to help mid.

We had won, and after the match we talked about it.
I said him “dude, there are better classes for healing. why focusing on play a guardian?”
He said back “I don’t have HoT. What build should i play to be competitive?”

At first i said him to check forum and Metabattle, but then i did the same and… nothing.

Put it simply, who does not have hot is a malus for the party ( also who has hot and play warrior and thief, like me, but this is another story ).

Enable elite specializzation to F2p for spvp should be the right choice to do.
We need players on GW2 atm, and i know that the game is cheap (30$)… but still, actually spvp is “not avaible” for non hot players.

What do the players think about giving f2p account the HoT specializzation in spvp?

I could care less if they did, the glaring issue is the power creep and imbalance, there are a few ways they can help correct the issues first and foremost, tactfully bring elite specs in line with all other specs, separate Balance for pvp and pve, they have proven they can do this by the small fact of revealed applying differently for both game types. There are a few other things that would help.

In gw1 you could purchase a pack with pvp only usable skills for a fraction of the games, including all the skills from the different campaings. Idk, maybe anet cuold charge maybe 10 bucks to unluck the elite specs for pvp only?

all classes which “work” are not meant to meta.

I have to take it serious because it gives achievement points to reach primordial legend title. Thanks to all the useless people in ruby I am stuck in the same stage of ruby for 10+ hours now. Win a pip. Loose a pip. I dont want to see people who use the wrong builds, no elite specs or people who dont know how the buffs work on temple map anymore.

I do not have HoT and i am doing just fine in pvp…ok i am struggling while fighting err things, ok maybe i have to put in 120% effort to do the same things players with elites do with 1 hand afk…

Still managed to reach diamond while only solo queuing with my ranger, so you know i gotta say no to the idea of banning ppl without HoT from ranked.
Maybe balance the game and uphold the original statement that elite specs are going to be equal to the core ones? Anyone???? OK power creep the everything to hell and back instead? Good plan anet!

But I want to soloQ, if I make teams I have to play against other premades. If I play against other premades I need to find people which make for a team better than the average premade. Premades which only reach 50-60% winrate are not worth the effort.

The whole carry your team is bs. It is a 5vs5 game. Everyone should pull his weight and not 1 person carry the team.
I dont care about the title or the wings. I just need the achievement points to stay competive in the top 5 of the achievement point leaderboard. If the title would give 0 AP I wouldnt give anything about it. But 6 AP is 2 black lion collections. And thus I cant skip it.

Not… I m fine against scrapper. I have problem against Elementalist, Renevant and Necro… DH also its ok, except condi spec… Too many burn :/

Also, spamming game allows a normal account ( f2p ) to reach ruby.

Then is all about matchmaking, classes,builds, luck, and random stuff.
As other games, playing pickedup team ( unless using a determinant class ) don’t valorize the single player.

I am not saying there’s no skill, but there are too many variables.

I already condemned myself to getting every black lion set (currently 26 sets complete), so I dont know why getting legendary is that different.

Necro is the only class for which the elite specialization actually is a different playstyle and not just a straight up upgrade.
They should have taken advice from the dev who did reaper for the other specs. It still needs a bit of work but it’s on a healthy base to work on. Other specs aren’t.

I am dead serious about this. If I see a guard without dragon hunter or engineer without scrapper spec I always cringe.

There are videos of this guy in WvW building useless siege and wasting supplies because there were achievements for it. Since anet changed the wvw achievements to be easier to get, looks like he has them all from wvw and has moved on to another game mode to farm them..

Ban warrior & thief in the same team is the most important then without HOT players. :p

Couldn’t disagree more, I find daredevil extremely fun. I feel more agile, bursty and the new elite is perfect. Imo daredevil seems perfectly fine when it comes to balancing.

I think this is a lot more preferably, not kidding. In all seriousness, elite specs are what broke the tedious balance we had. At least previous meta was worth playing.

There is only one core build that can beat an equally skilled specced enemy; signet necro. And only if he is not perma cc ed. Other professions are not enough most of the time. I do not have HoT and guildies have. We tested it several times with multiple professions. This should be changed for pvp if Anet wants to be competitive.

Selling skins is one thing. Selling more powerful specs is another. I am not saying it is wrong btw. But in competitive pvp market, it might not be wise.

How about…. kitten no? Actually, nobody gives a kitten about your win chance and nobody gives a kitten about you. Build diversity is bad as it is and players like you continue to degrade PvP scene even further.
Get productive instead and provide feedback how to improve PvP state instead of this.

In Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare you have all those fancy gadgets exo-suits and what not. But these is also that “classical mode” you can play without all that crap.

Thoughts? Should GW also have a PvP mode without elite specs? Personally I would like to play old school, but I don’t know if it would work with the current PvP population as it would separate players.

(I don’t play COD, it was just a free weekend promo in Steam)
