Rev unplayable in pvp due to weak dmg
Mercy runes + Sentinel’s + Unyielding anguish. GG
Am I good?… I’m good.
It was fun stomping them but once they are on your team…yeeshh. I’ll stay away from PvP for a while.

You can spec for damage on Guardian, it’s not possible on Revenant at the moment.
I imagine this beta must be painful for pve players.

Then spec for bunker/support revenant?

yeah on reddit a lot of people were talking about how they’re putting zerk gear on theirs for pve, but none of the weaponsets or traits will really all that great for dungeoning in a zerk build.
Taking a break from GW2 to play various
Nintendo games..

My point is not everyone wants to play bunker or support.
how are you supposed to play bunker or support when you can’t sustain in a fight against another bunker?

I tried it, too. The damage was VERY poor, especially on the AA’s. The highest damage on AA was on staff, but it still was was pretty horrible. I would say it’s around the damage of ele scepter AA’s, maybe a bit worse.
Rabid, trait for mallyx, get high energy, then SPAM banish enchantment.
Am I good?… I’m good.
If i’m not wrong Anet said they need to implement a new DPS Legend DPS,
Besides this, Hammer could be a dps weapon but it’s really really too slow, they need to improve it.
And honestly for now it misses a really good weapon dps set.
Mace/axe is for condis, Staff for support most of all.
And of course it misses 1 Trait line (there are only 4)
I personally LOVE staff, no matter what.
Am I good?… I’m good.
I had a lot of problems not being able to use range attacks
The only ranged weapon we have now is Hammer.
So whenever you’re not playing hammer everything ranged has a free kill since there’s too little gap closers and revenant is hella slow.
Had some fun with the mallyx elite though.
Could spam the 2 sec daze and 3-4sec burn with mallyx elite wich was kind of funny.
I personally LOVE staff, no matter what.
The staff design is good but honestly is more for support than dps.

I like the idea of dps staff, not only support, but something like skill 4 with a 12s cd, skill 5 with 15s, and evading attacks with skill 5 could definitely make staff a really nice weapon
EDIT: And way more things with the 2 chain
I personally LOVE staff, no matter what.

And ironically it does the highest damage of all provided weapons.
Staff is direct damage melee, hammer is a high range direct damage weapon (1200) with control. Mace is a mace, melee with a hint of condition damage.
So yeah, it’s expected staff will be the strongest direct damage weapon so far :p
Hammer is too slow, Mace/Axe can be unwieldy but is prime candidate for being a good weapon, Staff is also a good candidate for being good weapons.
The problems that I find are as follows;
- Relies too much on auto-attacking or getting into combat to gain energy.
- You spend most of your time trying to combo attacks but you can’t really because most of your good attacks either require energy or go on such a long cooldown that you can’t reliably combo them with anything. This is where the auto-attacking thing comes in, you’re spending most of your time trying not to spend a lot of energy so you spend your time trying to pop small skills and waiting to pop big skills but all that is for naught because the time you’re using to wait has already been used to punch your face in.
My suggestions; Reduce the cost of big skills and give them cooldowns so at least we can perform a chain combo with the small cost skills.
- Consider abilities that give energy in chunks.
- Increase the animation speed of the Hammer knockdown. That thing seems like it’s built to squash a tortoise.
- The damage is fine. It’s just the CC is lacking.
- Taunt doesn’t seem to be doing what it’s supposed to do (someone taunted me and I could still use skills)
- Ventari’s Tablet feels like it’s only good for the reflect and blowing up to heal. The cleanse is nice but there’s no CC on it so, it just feels lack luster. An initial knockback would be nice when it unleashes it’s bubble.
Those are my qualms and suggestions right now. I can say, it feels a lot like the engie and Ele at the start of the game when no one knew how to play them. Right now though, I feel it’s just the lack of Legends with the appropriate combination of skills.

Higher range doesn’t mean lower damage than melee, though.
