Agree completely with this. Safe guards are what is messing up the ladder and makes it a reward track.
That way we could also have a MM that randomly put players in teams and let the central theorem limit do it’s job. It would be fairer and would not favor or cripple ppl even before the match starts.
Group up with similarly skilled players or spend the first day speeding through the divisions to outpace the casuals and those who may not be as skilled. The longer you wait, the more likely you are to run into a wall.

Not everyone can reliably do that though.
I don’t think ruby players should be matched with Sapphire players… Breakin into Ruby was the biggest pain because all the Ruby players in the match were stuck at bottom of ruby using classes like thief and warrior and generally did not care for winning, and why would they, they are stuck at bottom of ruby on a 30+ loss streak.

They are stuck in that large of a loss streak because they’re not trying to win. It’s essentially a self fulfilling prophecy.
From what I have read, there’s a pip range that consists of the pool of players that can be grouped. If you’re at the bottom of a division then naturally you’re going to see some people from the upper tier of the previous division. This results in lower queue times and including higher tiers in the division may or may not be a good idea.

MMR reset, soloQ/teamQ included? Better make it purely MMR based rather then league based.

TY for comments but yall diverging from my proposed idea. Amber, can’t lose pips or tiers, Emerald loose pips but not tiers. Sapphire loose pips but not tiers and short tiers, Ruby loose pip but not tiers and LONG tiers. Diamond loose pips and tiers for the hardcore e-sport wannabes striving to get into Legendary.
Note LONG tiers in ruby is my suggestion. =)
I do concur that a MMR reset should take place each season tho.
