S6: We have no Champions LOL.
its possible. anet upped the games required to stay on leaderboard and I’m wondering if that has an effect on things. I don’t think they changed anything else besides this and the addition of <Profession max=“2” common=“-100” unique=“0” matching=“100”/>.

This is what happens when the majority of your playerbase quits ranked PvP :^)
Also, I already said last season the whole legendary thing is dumb because it depends on having enough people to distribute rating instead of going by a top XYZ system. For example, top 25 would be legend, top 250 would be plat and so on. It’s just more obvious now that there are no players that the system is flawed.
I think the issue is that the fact that people can’t maintain a good rating by doing well in the first ten-twenty games and then playing the minimum required to prevent decay is exposing the flaws in the system that make it virtually impossible to maintain a good rating if you play regularly.
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
It’s because the entire group of high MMR players quit. There are less than 250 people left in this game with high MMR. So when you’re on the leaderboards and no one queues you get matched with people in silver and if your team is so bad that you can’t carry you lose 20 rating and if you win you get 5 rating, which is why no one is in Legendary.
By all means if the players in Gold and Silver learned a few things to boost their own gameplay and rating and actually tried to be competitive instead of just talking trash every game and refusing to play as a team. Legit had a thief tell me to kill myself when I asked if he could go decap far….. So yeah when the community has become this kitten what do you expect lol?

It’s not impossible, i usually play 2 to 3 games a day and this entire season I’ve been hovering around the 100-130 mark on the leaderboards. If you maintain like kitten win rate you should be able to hold your spot.

I think that’s his point…. You play the minimum to stay on the boards which is a couple games a day as opposed to s1-4 where people played 30+ a day. The system encourages people to play less to look more skilled which is sort of an oxymoron in itself.
From that pic I can respect Rarnark and Tivez though, they are the true PvP players.
….. And Elementalist.

That, and the issue is not one about whether you can maintain your position, it’s that the respective positions are at tiers quite a bit lower than you expect. Making it harder for everyone to maintain their MMR obviously isn’t going to prevent people from getting into the top 250, it’s just that the bottom end of the top 250 is going to come at a significantly lower tier than it did before.

Yeah but even only playing that I still have like 200 games played this season, people can’t play 30+ games a day anymore because they have to make a living now without esports. People also don’t want to play a lot because our games for the most part aren’t even fun, 7 out of 10 of my games have players so far below my skill level that I can just sit far and farm them. When you’re playing druid and you drop an engi in about 5 seconds something is wrong.
Those players are in decay

Exactly this.
I lost 4 games and I went from rank 16 to 100. Lost 4 more and went to rank 200. It’s no wonder people who reach their desired rank no longer queue until decay lol.
Excuse me while I attempt to win 28 straight games to please the matchmaking Gods.
Rank: Top 250 since Season 2
#5 best gerdien in wurld

I’ve got a full time job and on my work days I can play about 10 but on the weekends my partner gives me half the day to play so I can get a good 20-30 from that and just assumed others would have a lot more, but I certainly agree that this season has not been fun at all with the matchmaking, I’m a Gold getting smashed back into Silver by the top 50 players so once I got into Gold for the 4th time I started to play TF2. There are a number of 1800+ players not appearing on that screen shot because they didn’t do that weeks minimum required games yet or are simply decayed. Just because they don’t appear on the leaderboard doesn’t mean they don’t exist and wont show up just before the minimum required games increases. Also that is very clearly Naru and Nos decayed/not enough games yet. This screen and comment is deceptive to anyone who is not familiar with this season’s pvp
I don´t think i will make over 100 matches this season so won´t show up in the end … 100 is a lot of games and GW2 playtime. The minimum matches seem quite high.

Which demonstrates why this is a problem. If you’re a low gold/high silver getting matched against top fifty players, you’re not going to have a good experience – in fact, as far as match quality goes, you might as well play unranked at that point.

Am I stupid? What does it mean that people aren’t champions?? What????

He means people who used to play in the esl tournaments, or pro tournaments, profesional pvp players.
Is it NA? on EU we have 9 people with 1900+

Not only that but I genuinely love this game but the game itself encourages me not to play, just like others when they reached their own desired rank. All of it bleeds the player base and makes the games worse off.
(I have since discovered letting decay hit the account will put me against a bunch of bronzes/Silvers, really easy to carry but atleast I’m avoiding top players)

That’s still pretty bad.
You do know at that time most people who were supposed to be top 10 are in decay?? Like it’s pretty obvious when you have someone drop from 2k rating to the 1700’s with no change to their wins or losses.
