Do you think Anet even knows what to do with Warriors?
Honestly. I’ll play warrior till death just because I love the class in it’s entirety. But, it gets old being the joke and never part of the meta, just once I want to feel stupid op and invincible. Just once I want to steamroll the OP classes with ease.
I usually wouldn’t even care and just see what happens but this makes 2 seasons in a row where Warrior was a joke. Balance should happen way more frequently. These things should be assessed and fixed.
You can’t sit there and tell me that they reviewed last season and were like “Yeah, Warriors are totes fine broz”

Which begs the question, do you guys think they really have any clue on what to do or what direction to take the class? I’ve seen countless threads and outcries from the Warrior community that have very well thought out suggestions and they always seem to go unnoticed.
Truly, I think it’s a problem with all classes and class balance in general. ANET wants to make it so all classes can fill all roles, but in their own unique and special way. While balance is hard itself, ANET never mastered this even before the giant stone that was Hot. I truly think they need to do monthly balance passes and not worry about their esports scene near as much as they do. Having pros go in and showcase the shortcomings of your game is not a good thing.

I’m going to slightly agree with this, I always felt Warrior was the best designed, moves were telegraphed enough to have reactive gameplay, but offered much more. Now it’s like, all about instant damage, unavoidable damage, aoe spam, etc.
The biggest buff to warrior would be to nerf all other classes to be in line with warrior. Some classes just fill the same role as warriors but with so much more utility (looking at you rev mains)
Honestly, I would be happy with a cool down reduction to all skills (not weapon) by 20%ish. Every other profession can be in your face and survive mostly everything via a mix of weapon and other skills, while the warrior can’t.

I rarely play war, so I don’t know how effective that would be, but if that were to happen then war skills would just be more spammy like any other class, so I don’t feel like that would be the right option
The biggest issue, in my opinion, is the bottlenecking of our trait lines.
You can either stay Vanilla, aka, Disc/Str/Def which gives you everything
or
You can do:
Str/Disc/zerker
Disc/Def/Zerker
Def/Str/Zerker
Regardless, no one does the 3rd option because Discipline is waaaay too vital. So were either stuck with defensive line and give up 30%+ more damage, or we give Defense, and take Strength and get wrecked without Warriors sprint/dogged march (which needs to be combined) and the other defensive traits, double EP etc.
It seems like EVERY other class had to give up NOTHING to utilize their new lines, where as we have to pick. Zerker is good for gunflame and condi, that’s it.
Everyone else gets the best of both worlds, aka offense and defense and we get stuck into picking one. Or, stay Vanilla and miss out on the Zerker line, which has an amazing elite, and huge damage boosts.

I know its like using a sledge hammer to kill an ant but still if ANET increased the CD of every utility by 20% and nerfed the damage by 20%, for every class (except warrior) we would probably be in a better spot than we are now.

+1. The biggest offenders screwing over warriors are revs, reapers, scrappers, etc…that is, only the elite specs. Once all of the elite specs are nerfed to be inline with the core classes, warrior should be fine.

Either buff our defense or nerf the other professions. Preferably both.
This league system, coupled with the warrior situation is just making pvp a chore.

You must not have been watching then. One WTS winning team had a warrior (ROM) and I think Apex ran with two rampage warriors for a time.

I’ve been there. Yes, warriors have to sacrifice a lot just to break even. I just hope our buffs, or other professions’ nerfs come soon.

people have been saying the exact same sentense since 2013, untill they gave warrior berserker stance and healing signet to match other classes

That doesn’t justify the way Anet is treating warrior, but you guys are acting like Warrior has always been bad, and it simply hasn’t. It will get better, dont worry! Might take a bit, but warrior will be Meta again one day.

Stances were never OP. Stances were competent at best. Remember it used to be bulls charge, frenzy, balance stance. And balance stance was reworked to a shorter CD. But this was also back when a 60 sec cd was the norm.

Warrior, Guardian and Thief are all being denied meta roles by Herald. Actually for Warrior it’s due to both Herald AND Scrapper (the new hambow).

because that’s a kitten approach to take. Achieve true balance and stop with the nonsense meta-shift that requires players to relearn their profession. It’s bleeding the momentum out of “E-SPURTS” players.

@TheBravery I agree with you and there are some things I want to say regarding pvp balance team but the last time i did I was banned. So I’ll spare strong language. Having shifting meta is no balance at all. This is lazy work and shouldn’t qualify a salary for 6 months.

In a perfect world every class with every build (that has some sort of synergy) should be able to kill any other class with good enough mechanical knowledge. Things like hardcounters should be ridiculed on. That’s what makes a balanced game.

Who’s to say a perfect world means that every class with every build kills any other class/build? Thats completely illogical imo. A light rogue should not be able to kill a heavy tank. Ya sure, Anet said no holy trinity which is also bs anyway. You cant walk away from class diversification. You have frontline melee fighters who absolutely must have high hp, armor, damage negations in order to survive and fulfil ltheir role. Whats all that mean? It means in any sort of remotely perfect world we would have unique classes with unique strengths and weaknesses who might be able to counter each other to a degree but mostly a certain class/build would be a hard counter to another class/build, while a different class/build would be incapable to do squat against yet another.. You know A>B, B>C, C>A.. There is no such thing as equality in class balancing. We cant all be superman with super strength, super speed, super farts, super everything

League of Legends and Dota disagree. Some classes might not be great at dps but everyone can kill anyone. And you STILL have roles. Support/heal/bunker. I personally think it’s wrong for any single class to be able to shutdown a capture point unless +1 (or more) occurs, because later on in the teamfight bunch of bunkers spamming broken conditions (because you can’t call abilities that do 22k damage over time anything else but broken) dealing more DPS than power based counterparts.
This game is so broken that even if there was perfect balance, there would still be things to complain about.
I suppose this is why it takes their lolteam to balance/shift the meta up to 6 months, while ignoring the real problems. Like the game being p2w atm unless you buy HoT. No defensive stats against conditions. Braindead boon corruption and over the top passive procs whether through traits or weapon swaps. And these are just some of the glaring issues this game has. From the lesser known issues is the fact that if you sneeze at the foefire lord it dies and grants 150 points…
