I sympathise with you Marcos.

ArenaNet are making a lot of positive changes to the game in the next patch, but they really need to let us “black list” 1 or 2 spvp maps (just like we can in WoW).

Forcing people to play maps they hate, just results in them leaving the match resulting in 4 vs 5 or even quitting spvp altogether. A black list is better than removing Skyhammer altogether as it allows those who like the map to continue playing it.

A blacklist will make that map deserted.

Might as well just delete the map.

5x Warrior, 5x Ranger, 4x Elementalist, 4x Engineer,
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant

True, that could happen; at least a black list lets us choose which maps we play.

If engi’s like the map then maybe we will end up with 5 engi vs 5 engi in Skyhammer, (if everyone else black lists it) – it would be like pinball

Well, it pretty much destroys every competitive element of PvP. It’s pathetic that such a map is still in SoloQ. A-Net refuses the map is broken and therefore it will stay another century in the rotation.

I was wondering if it’s possible to change the rotation of a few standard hotjoin servers so we can have one map going 24/7?

advantage:
It would really help alot in letting people learn tactics for one particular map.
It would have people design more map specific builds.

i’ve been asking for a skyhammer server, not because i like skyhammer I HATE IT
but they should remove it from all other rotations and have afew servers with just skyhammer so the trolls can spam knockbacks as much as they like while the rest of us play the real game

it would also mean that the rest of us don’t have to switch servers everytime the rotation gets back around to skyhammer.

There’s no way this map is still in rotation given the amount of response given both in game and on the forums to ArenaNet. This smells like a higher up’s personal bias of the map..but who? We know the community leaders have messaged this out at least a couple times.

Or taking It out rotation would mean a “Fail” and wasted of time and resources spent on the map!

You roll solo Q, you care about winning.

Do you take the engineer with toolkit pull, access to stealth and a gazillion knock backs?

Or do you take Mesmer for the stability strip and invisible stealthed death pull on low cooldown?

Half of the skyhammer games are 4v5. When skyhammer pops people just log off and come back later. Pls either remove the map or the dishonorable should apply even if you logg off before the game.

If skyhammer required extra work on the UI they wouldve removed skyhammer aswell. That extra work is far more important than what the community/their customers thinks about the map.

Guess they dont want my money, since im not spending a single euro in the gemstore untill its out of the rotation. Ive spend 200-300 before skyhammer…..0 after. I think its the only way to do it “speak with your wallet”.

I guess if youre a pure hotjoin player you might get the impression that its not that bad. Just get your leaderboard standing up a bit and see what happens.

Just wait untill you get in to skyhammer with my engi (or someone similar) and ill stealth pull you every single CD. My record so far in a single soloq game is 23 pull and push offs (in a game vs only top 500 players). There is no positioning in the world that will safe you and since i come from stealth you whont see it coming and whont be able to counter it with dodges either.

To make it worse youll have 3-4 other kittenbags on the opposing team. Since at decent MMR everyone plays skyhammer engie.

Skyhammer sure is a really, really, really, really awful terrible horrible stupidest worstest map ever but I think they removed capricorn because for some reason they didn’t put underwater weapons into the new pvp gear tool! Engis sure would be overpowered on that map if nobody had underwater weapons! Wahoo! Bye frands!

I think it’s because it is by far the most challenging map in the game,
it requires better situational awareness than other maps,and mistakes
usually end up with you saying hello to the wurms below.
It is a very restrictive map when it comes to movement and positioning
and I guess most players don’t like that.

One profession with one build is viable on that map. If you’re not playing Skyhammer Engi you’re meat. That’s why it’s a terrible map. It has nothing to do with this fantasy crap you’re puking out about challenging, situational, it comes down to do you have the Engi or Engis or not.

I like the map, but only to join on its own, when I have a build designed to knock other players off the edge of the map so I can laugh at them and shout noob as they plummet to there doom.

It should not be in soloq or teamq.

I don’t play an Engi so I can’t really say anything about the class.
Maybe Engi is the obvious solution,but of the four classes I PvP with
all can be viable in SH,either for cap and defend cannon or for
capping points,and all are effective against Engi.
As a thief by the time you know I’m there you’ll already be flying off the map.
Mesmer is very strong in SH.Really good counter for anything.
So is Guard and War.
I’ve seen Rangers being really good in this map,and Necros.
Maybe Elle has a disadvantage?
But Engi is definitely not the best or the only class that can play this map.

The map is just not fun or challenging!

Even if you don’t run a skyham build, all the “corners”, close space and LoS will kill any fun of the map! specially when fighting MM, spirit rangers, condi wars in a “cage”!! or when you’re about to get get a kill! and the enemy LoS you around the point just to come back at full hp!

Not fun at all!!!!! Once you’re blessed with 7 skyhams in a row! you will understand

In general it is just a badly designed PvP map.

But I don’t mind the scrubs playing it in hotjoin but for the tournaments…
it just has no place in a competitive enviroment.

It isn’t a problem if you don’t make it one.
Regardless of wether or not there are areas to hide in, you’re going to knockback on the 3 nodes and on the cannon, the rest of the map is insignificant.

Generally i wouldn’t like skyhammer that much, but i believe it brings diversity in this condition meta

If youre doing hotjoins only the map seems fine right? Ppl are usually not effective enough (read they suck) in hotjoins to give you a good picture. You will get the occasional pull down here and there but it isnt a big deal.

This isnt because hotjoin players are better at postioning…..its because the decappers arent that good. And ppl in hotjoins dont reroll for skyhammer.

In soloq however youll meet teams where 2-4 will logg their skyhammer engie the second the see the map pop. They have better timing and focus the entire game only on pulling and pushing off.

Stability doesnt jack shi against a pull from stealth. By the time you push your stab skill youll be immob’ed and on the glass.

I love skyhammers and I think its one of the best maps in pvp.
That you need a sharp eye, sharp ears and good reflexes, make this map to a challenge and this is great, especially with this many plains

Only the cannon could be a little too strong and the platform with the cannon need a few more walls, but else perfect.
