Liane Frostfire – Elementalist [TWP] Ilona Frostfire – Mesmer [TWP]
Enya Frostfire – Mesmer [OMFG]
Looks like arenanet wants to have necro in godmode state. On this new Map fears are onehsots when placed well. Engineers with their knockbackspam are allso ridiculous here.
Guess im gonna quit my elementalist now. No chance of competing here… Discuss
Eles have knockbacks :o.
Warrior has the almighty Kick.
Guardians have their pull for defending cannon :o
Yeah whoever thought this map was a good idea is a freakin joker.
Pretty much anyone with a knockback can make this map work for them. I’ve seen mesmers dominate with GS5 as well. IMO this map is built for high mobility classes. SB thieves have a lot of ways to get a great angle on you for their attacks, and of course Engis with rocket boots and a well placed BOB or overcharge are sure to do well. I see your point though, I feel bad for warriors on this one
This gives me an idea…def going to get on my Warrior later and put Kick on the bar.
Doing it on Engi is fun, but its expected…can’t wait to do it on Warrior lolz.
look on the bright side lightning hammer and tornado now have a use

Tried it, was kinda fun, but blind will destroy you.
EVERY CLASS HAS SOME FORM OF CC just gotta know how to use it!
lighting hammer has “Banish” lol its OP once you combine with backdraft/earthshake

d/d build for shock aura and immob with double armor of earth, lightning hammer (use 5 to stun and/or leap through it to daze) besides 3 for blowout.Go boon duration and 20 earth for rock solid and pick tornado :P
Stun/knocdown them then updraft or banish.Use earth 3 to immob them on the panels if you can. Then tornado ..omg!!
And when they got stability pop your 2 armors and chain with earth swaps for almost 25 sec of continous stab uptime if not ripped stolen ..Gotta try this kitten!!
The map is designed for knockdowns/backs to be really powerful, of which every class has some form.
Guardians are quite strong as they also have a lot of access to stability so they can avoid being knocked back WHILE knocking others around.
How many knockbacks does ele have? How many does mesmer have?
Now how many fears/knockbacks does necro have? And how many engineer?
Its ridicutlous.
kitten map? Unplayable for other profession?
Ye i think so.
So once again Arenanet shows that is has no idea what the pvp community really wants.

Well they saw quake 3, thought that comp pvp is good there, copied a map and failed, not surprising at all =]
Sounds like a great move by ArenaNet to encourage some more build diversity in the ranks.

Mesmers have GS push and focus pull ( 2 strongest in game radius and control wise)
Eles have backdraft but… they also have acess to stab and immobalize.
necro have 3 skills that can fear on a 20 40 kitten cd … lol
people who are complaning about map is because they are too lazy to adapt… every class has some form of CC and map is actually pretty balanced in the sense that everyone now has escapes, and the better player wins ( or at least the ones who understands to stay away from edges )
Apparently eles now have access to stab.
STAB STAB STAB
Oh no it’s a BACKDRAFT!
its designed for people who like exploring…
i didnt even need any leap skill to get out of the normal map
you can just walk out to the edges of the map in the blue sea area outside of the map
so far i only managed to get out of spirit watch and out of nilfel map
but this map is not secured very well….
i bet not a single person every played this map and walked around for more than 30 seconds otherwise he would have noticed that every player can get out^^
on the other hand:
the big sand area outside of the normal map is a perfect place for duels and guild mettings in private arenas and i dont see any possible exploit in this map as you cant score outside the map and cant get back to the normal map^^
but glitching out of pvp maps shouldnt be possible
even worse if it can be done just by walking without the usage of any leap skill

Stability is your friend.
Ha ha… using rifle, ram, mine, bomb kit(big ol bomb). Skilled glass cannon(yes we are supposed to use conditions but I like it more with direct damage).
First match on that map I got top score at my team and we were winning(even though a lot of the other team had more individual player score).
I rarely get to 200+ … but that match I controlled the cannon most of the time. Good overwied and when I saw incoming switched to my skills and used also Elite Elixir for this map(hoping for tornado!).

its so fun to stealth/iwave everyone on on skyhammer for dat triple killz lol
maybe i have found a use for elixir x

Please tell me what Thieves have to knock people back with.

LMAO I was watching Teldo’s stream too and saw you do it. Good laugh.
I’m still waiting for some to describe how pull and knockback have merged into the same meaning, not have morons who can’t read a simple single sentence explain to me all these methods of pulling or immobilizing someone is considered a knockback.

Well … at least I’m starting to understand why Arenanet is failing so hard at their game balance. They are obviously catering to the massive amounts of stupidity out there / here on the forums, and thus, the downfall of this could-be great game due to ridiculously stupid changes probably inspired by the idiots who dwell these forums.

First thing that came to my mind was double necros double engies ggson.

Except Thief.

REALLY
This thread could have just as easily been entitled “Skyhammer designed against necros and engineers” because neither profession really has stability (okay, niche necro builds kind of do).
LMAO I was watching Teldo’s stream too and saw you do it. Good laugh.
Just to be clear, it wasn’t me, but I did enjoy it quite a bit!

This would maybe be a fun deathmatch arena style map. But bleh, the cap points feel out of place to me. Or maybe I’m just going to hate any cap and hold map at this point.
99.9percent of engies’ kills from suicides.

Mesmer has GS #5 and Focus 4 which is great
Necromancers stand on Pillars spamming heavy condition pressure. Engineers sit on points. Random bad player sits on cannon.
Worst map I’ve ever seen.
99.9percent of engies’ kills from suicides.
Rocket Boots has killed me just as often as other players have.
Ex. I get immobilized, I use Rocket Boots like I always do to get out, I realize that the initial jump may not take me over the edge, but that roll afterwards definitely will, I’m treated to a whisper of ‘LOL’ from whoever initially attacked me and then I carry on with my day.

Scorpion Wire, then immob on one of the plates or steal fear from a necro and 4 second fear everyone.
Its a fun map.
50percent of kills = canon
40percent of kills= suicides
10percent of kills= from fights if you are lucky to witness that.
Tactics
One mesmer uses portal from close to canon
One engie/necro and one necro always guard and use canon.
One guardian goes to mid.
The last goes and caps your close or reinforces canon.
Thief + enemy necro = gg whole enemy group
i quite like the map actually. not only cause it’s new, but the mechanics offer something different, albeit another node capture. mind you, it’s new as well.. and hopefulyl ANet is keeping an eye and will make tweaks necessary.
i know we can adapt and learn to have fun with whatever we’re given… no? no??

Yeah they need to make a supermario floating circle where it goes round and round and each time one person fells off the other team gets points.
There are a couple of problems with this map. 1) The blue patches that randomly turn into holes. This could be improved if there was some way of knowing when they would disappear (allowing for tactical usage of them instead of luck). 2) The skyhammer has only one entrance. Engineers, necromancers, and rangers (to some extent) can have a field day trapping a single entrance making it next to impossible to capture without a zerg. 3) The layout is awkward. The numerous altitudes are a challenge to use effectively. I see most fights occurring around them, instead of with them. It is almost like they tried to incorporate the Z axis without using water, which (as is painfully obvious from Raid On Capricorn) everyone avoids.
I hope that ArenaNet can either fix this map or make it temporary. This map does not belong in the tournament PvP realm.
