So I want to start up something fun, like a game show.

There are a lot of complaints about ruby and diamond in which people feel its the divisions and the rest of the players holding them back from getting to legendary.

So here is the game I am proposing.
If you think you have what it takes to be in legendary, now you can prove it!!
I am thinking we can give players the opportunity of queing in the legendary ranks to show they can hang with the “big boys” and stream the matches.

To try and make it fair in terms of a player’s skill, I would bring say 2 to 3 other legendary players in the que to reduce the number of independent variables.
The only rules would be that you have to bring a build that works or is proven enough.

I am going to explore my friends list to see who else would be interested in being the legendaries. Honestly, once you get here, the pips do not mean as much, so losses won’t deter me.

So if you are interested in helping out (be it a legendary) or a player wanting to see if the grass is actually greener (take part in the game), reply on this post here. I just need your rank and timezone in the post. I play mostly evenings around 10pm est, so it would most likely happen then or on the weekends.

We could even do giveaways and make this a community thing. I am all about the community of gw2 pvp and making things more enjoyable for the players.

So, do you think you can Legendary… We will find out!!

I already proposed my account to others in previous thread to test the MMR hell. I think it would be a better way to demonstrate what many want to acknowledge or absolutely not because the conditions would be ideal and only the person playing the account would make the difference.

Now, do I think I’m being fed players beneath my level at least half the time? Yes. No doubts about it.

Do I deserve to be legendary? Not sure. I do not have neither the pretension or ambition to be there anyway. That being said, if you are willing to be fair and impartial and not just use that opportunity to twist and focus on everything bad one does (I’m not perfect) I’m willing to party up so you can get a better idea of where you think I should be. Sadly, that won’t let you see what I’m being paired with most of the time..

Having played some with K Pop in AG and queued a few times with him outside of that I can vouch that he is genuinely a cool guy and isn’t pretentious. He means well and is looking to help the community overall with this.

I don’t know if I count. I am not a player that considers himself legendary. In fact this season has opened my eyes even more to how much more I can improve. I would just be curious to see what a legendary game is like.

Queued with him. Legit cool guy. I learned some stuff. There is a clear skill difference. Especially in rotations. I thought I had rotations down fairly well, welp, things move a lot faster and more decisively in legend.

Eh, NA is not half as competitive as EU. I don’t mean to offend you or talk you down OP, what you are doing is great. However I think most ruby players are on par with NAs legendary. Most NA players complain of queue times being of 30-40 minutes and I hardly see this in EU ruby/diamond. Even when I queue as a 5-man premade (i supposedly play against 5-man premades too, not soloQ guys)

I also watched one member of team PZ on twitch to carry people up to legendary (well not the whole thing), but while he was in Emerald, idk it seemed like that guy can take on the whole enemy team alone. They were that bad. I was emerald in EU, none of the teams were like that. And even then, someone in chat asked him about his input on the matchmaking and he did say that matchmaking is flawed in the way that it groups lower tier players with higher tier players, effectively giving the higher tier players a better chance at winning.

So I take this with a bit grain of salt. Would love to be proven otherwise.

IMO if you are in a match where you were supposed to win but you lose, you should lose more pips. And receive a greater hit on your MMR. Pretty sure most legendary players are ez in 1v1

I’ve seen all divisions. Watching Leeto fight through ruby and diamond was just sad. I mean… Helseth constantly calls you guys peasants and shows his whole chat the simple mistakes his pug teammates are making. EU is just as bad.

The fact that we have more pro league/wts/esl/whathaveyou teams than NA and the finalist is never the same team over and over disproves your statement, don’t you think?

I mean … an year (or two?) ago oRNG rocked the scene (however never with 100% winrate like Abj) and currently the landscape has changed immensely. At least on the EU side. Abj is still the best in NA with no team insight to dethrone them. GG

I find it hard to believe that the average soloQ player in EU is better than the NA counterparts, just because we have a seemingly more competitive “pro” scene in EU.

Well, finding people willing to participate in this should be about as hard as finding college students willing to go through test trials for medical marijuana, lol.

He’s the Trump of high tier PvP players. He’s loud, boastful, controversial, and just good enough to be in the pro leagues. Because he’s always grabbing all the attention, people tend not to notice other great players as much.

He also loves to blame ANet for problems, which will always make you friends. Remember how he said that mesmers were dead after the last balance patch?

Had my first taker last night. He wanted to try out queing on the legendary level, so we did a duo que.

Queued with him. Legit cool guy. I learned some stuff. There is a clear skill difference. Especially in rotations. I thought I had rotations down fairly well, welp, things move a lot faster and more decisively in legend.

He was able to pick up some things. Whether or not we win/lose is not important here. He definitely walked away with more knowledge than before and that is what I am going for here.

I will keep you in mind. For me to get to that stage, I would need to work out some things with some friends who are bigger streamers than myself, and have larger base followings.

I do not have a ESL victory as I have only pug in ESL. I have some AG wins, but I do not think I win the whole tournament before. Only tourney I have won all the way through is the old pugquest style tournaments.
I have experience in this game, but my team experience is limited due to class selection issues (Warrior). But just because I have not won with a team does not mean that I do not understand the mechanics and what it takes to be successful with a team. I have ample team sports knowledge to cover that.

Of course I will look to the mist core. I forget I am in that guild.
