Stronghold is skyhammer 2.0
Eh they specifically said in the twitch stream they didn’t want a super weapon, and there’s nothing on the map which is really that.
Grouch did say he used a troll stealth build, but tbh that could be countered by dominating supply camp, a defensive spotter or trebbing. I also don’t mind seeing build and tactical variety, that’s something lacking in conquest tbh.
Also, Skritt Bombers get revealed when they attack so even with the perma stealth from 5 thieves, you’ll still know when a Skritt is right by your gate.
And I’m sure you can’t get supply or capture buffs while stealthed.

Funny when Stronghold is actually Fort Aspenwood/Jade Quarry 2.0, one of the most successful PvP modes in Guild Wars: Factions.

Sadly I can’t find a quote for stronghold being a MOBA copy-paste.
Stronghold isn’t really a MOBA copy-paste. It is more like payload.
AFAIK, The summoned NPC do not clash with each other. When they do, I guess you can say that it is a moba.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Skyhammer has lasers, floors that open up and edges that players can knock you off of.. Didn’t see any of that in the stronghold video.
They have no choice but to mix it up with the other maps since it’s only 1 new map and you need 3 maps for the map voting system to function.
Yes I simply can’t imagine people queueing separately. I mean they would sure miss the surprise factor of it all without multiple choices.
Skyham has lasers stronghold doesn’t so it’s totally different! Just like temple has buffs and legacy has doors and khylo has treb so it’s like totally different game mode! Jeez.

That’s what I thought! I loved that mode, which is why I’m excited to see how Stronghold turns out.

It’s so good to hear other players as enthusiastic about this!
For all intents and purposes, nearly (key word) everything in the Heart of Thorns expansion has been geared towards bringing back old Guild Wars 1 systems with a new flavor.
This is apparent in specializations, guild halls, and now of course the Stronghold PvP map. I feel optimistic.
Am I missing something why the hell we have to care that much PVE crap inside of a PVP mode?
Does GW2 not enough PVE content, WTH?
As someone who plays pvp and WvW, the whining about perma stealth thief builds is hilarious. Pvpers afraid of pvp? This is QQ straight from the WvW forums.
And no, I don’t play thief.

perma stealth thief builds will be op in this gamemode and you will probably need at least 2 of them per team at the start. that’s a fact. and its also stupid.

Then prove it. Facts are supported by evidence. I’m certainly open minded to hearing how you’ve arrived at this conclusion without this game mode even being in open beta.

I was once a QQer like the OP, but this is really just a blow-out of a post. You can’t judge a new game mode just because it SEEMS complex! GvG felt really complex in GW1 and yet it was the most successful game mode of its time. And also, it was pretty easy to get a hold of since the complexity was divided on multiple roles (as it seems here as well).
I don’t think SR will work on doorbreaker because they’ll keep on moving forward and you have no control over it. Without doorbreaker standing stationaly for 5 seconds, there’s no way you’re going to build up stealth. (Even with blast finisher it’s not enough.)
Also I can forsee that, like Temple of Silent Storm, you cannot channel supply or summon npc when you’re in stealth.
Please just wait until it’s out before you pass quick judgement.

Right?
I mean have people forgotten how Shadow Refuge functions -entirely- ?
Because we all know this is the only skill they’re actually referring to, deep down.
