You know, things like…. skyhammer, 4v5, unbalanced matches? That might actually bring a lot more people back then something like this.

We’ve had 2 years to figure this out. They’ve had a couple of months. It shouldn’t be all that surprising.

and that was mostly yolo Q’ing into tQ since they didn’t have solo Q at the time (not sure if they’ve gotten it in the past couple weeks).

Last Friday was Points of Interest, which is the Living World-focused livestream. Ready Up is this coming Friday.

Well, I’m looking forward to it then, hope there’ll be more info. In particular who’s getting invited, what will the format for the exhibition matches be, will normal Gamescon attendees be able to watch them on a nice big screen, etc.

More than this, i would say rune of strenght and double air/fire.

Current S/D thief build is like the most broken thing this game ever had, but it’a ll due to runes and sigils.

Whose are broken even for other professions.

Well they better make sure they either:
1, Give away some legendaries to viewers.
2, Include some PvE news/panel in the show with the PvP tournament.

Because that is the ONLY way people will watch this game for its PvP. This game has a PvP viewership base of about 200-300 people. So unless they bribe people to watch then nobody will care whatsoever.

The game has a competitive pvp community of about 30 people. Even when the game was popular the competitive pvp community (actual regular teams) was still tiny to say the least.

Winning at Gw2 is like being the best in your family. It is child’s play.

This will do nothing for Guild Wars 2.

that was an amazing live event back then, i will rejoin gamescom for sure if this is gonna be an as well organised tournament.
i mean with legit qualifying and some big pre-tournaments
AND i want to see more than just 3 teams (EU/US/China)

Those are two seperate things though..
Soloque = Casual.
Gamescom = Esports.

If we’re esports there’s more money for pvp dev, you should be happy…

Anet needs to do MORE promo stuff like this.. pvp needs more popularity not less. no one really cares about soloque anyway, it’s where you go to develop an aneurysm.

The top players from China, NA, and EU? Normal pvp gonna be dead that week, ‘cuz that’s, like, pretty much anybody they can get that’s still playing right now. Natch.

ESPORTZ!?!?!?!?!?! Some of you are too easily excited/satisfied. How about instead of distracting us with tournaments they work on the actual game so there are more then a couple of dozen serious teams world wide that play this silly game.

This is really big for the game. I’m sure Josh will put on a great show! So happy to have him in that position.

This game is still not fun to watch, not to say unwatchable.
So much clutter, no details of good plays, asuras, no risk-reward, no comeback-ability besides guildlord etc.

More than 99% of all ppl who bought the game don’t enjoy PvP. Why should that change at the gamescom? It just shows the crowd how unfinished this game is.
