It was fun for me …. I understand that it felt good … Warrior was still not realy good but this one got me giggling using strength interupt build and viper ….
Gun Flame was hitting for extremely high damage, more so than True Shot if I recall. And it’s a really good designed skill to boot.

Anet stated themself that rifle is about volley and killshot/gunflame.
now they nerf 20% dmg and pierce removed (ok i understand the dmg nerf) but then there is NO compensation on the other rifle skills wich do horrible dmg besides volley
I would make use of the daze and make the skill do extra damage if you interrupt your target. The pierce should come back imo, but I guess they wanted it to be different from Kill Shot.

Gunflame is a resource-costing skill gated behind berserker mode, True Shot is #2 on a 4 second CD.
I wouldn’t say they’re comparable, really.
But yeah, Rifle badly needed some extra compensation in its non-burst skills.
The whole point of the weapon is volleying and gunflaming, and while the nerf to gunflame was totally justified, it just left the rest of the weapon really lacking.
Some love to the other less used skills on rifle would’ve gone a long way.
What better place than here? What better time than now?

…Somehow I get a feeling you haven’t played a warrior since HoT launched.
Let’s hope the speculative ‘Hambow’ builds out there could be a solution, otherwise I suppose I’ll have to deal with three of the official league seasons where my main is the lowest tier.

You had revs using the sword 2 skill from glint into shiro, to staff 5 doing more damage then gun flame.
I had 2 friends practicing 1 vs 1 with me and literally any build i thought could be even a little bit viable was smashed by the necro and rev.
Gun flame was literally countered by scappers and eles for any team fights. Yes 2 classes could counter a gun flame build in any fight.

Or allow the shot to pierce but deal no damage. You want that hit to land on its intended target regardless of the rest.
For those wondering about a better build and one that actually is strong in duels, sucks in teamfights for though, but that goes for warrior period.

Every warrior worth half of their mettle knows of that ‘Wildfire’ variant.
Now question, how am I going to explain why I am not playing either a Thief or a Mesmer who can move between two points quicker, and thus actually create some opportunities at most likely mid to outnumber the other side.
And the other question is that if that were strictly a 1v1 build, intent on killing the opponent as quickly as possible on said point, how many builds out there as of this last season were capable of fighting it evenly so the opposing team didn’t have to waste their time sending a +1 when the warrior isn’t decapping his opponent?
