Hotel lobby is actually better because it removes the crowd and the smell and you know that everyone there is there for you. And it might also be cheaper.
Why would you want them to go into a noisy crowded place that you have to queue in for? It’s like you hate good things.

Also, after asking Jebro, players are not allowed using their own mouse/pad, which I find discriminating in this way:
I’ve always played mmo’s with a razer naga and before that excisted I was forced to click.. Why? Because my fingers are not long enough to reach the F buttons while also moving.
Also, keybinding to other buttons to keep it closer did not work for me due slow reaction in left hand (can’t even type blind due the positioning of my fingers aswel after sitting infront of pc for over 12years). That’s why I need my Naga (or any other gamemouse like G600). If I would be chosen to go Gamescom and arrive there, I would be disappointed and be in disadvantage due the restrictions I did not know off.. I was surprised Jebro said that. Now ofcourse, over 90% of the gw2 community uses keyboard like that but for people who have physcial disadvantages but are competing in top tpvp in GW2, I find this sad.. I really saw myself there maybe next year or so but after hearing this.. =/ is just my 2 cents though..

wouldn’t they be using the steelseries GW2 mice though? those have plenty of buttons, IIRC.

Yes, it were Steelseries but doesn’t have as much buttons afaik. I use 15 buttons on my Naga which has 17 buttons in total :<. Ofcourse, even if it had only 5-6 extra buttons, u can say ‘press Alt or Shift to combine’. I just can’t combine buttons while moving etc due the above said problem I have ;_;
Hello frands! Vee Wee here, #1 Engi NA and world first rank 80!
After so much hype for voting the all stars, Vee Wee did not see any information on the actual all star matches! Vee Wee did not know what time they were! Vee Wee does not know the results! Tho thilly!
Wahoo! Bye frands!
Seemed like they had no money for chairs. People watching the stream can’t take this serious.

Hate is a strong word. I’m like phil jackson of the new york nets, I don’t deal with rookies.
noise crowds and a person like you is perfect for gw2 esports.
Oh yeah I have no idea what day the games got played or the location of the VOD’s

EU won
no money for chairs? lol get out of here…
we cant take u serious
really tho they needed to do a better job of promoting the event.
nothing on the website or in game, its no wonder there were no viewers.
I agree on the promotion part.
I really had no idea when the matches were untill they were already in progress or over.
I had to watch them all at past broadcasts on the gw2 twitch wich annoyed me a bit..
i wouldnt have known when was the actual games played if i didnt randomly check twitch streams.
As said before the promotion for this event was horribru.

The main problem of those matches was that they were all pretty much one-sided, which does not make up for interesting matches. Anet can’t do much to that, but NA & China reaaaaally need to step up their game.
Also : conquest is still boring to watch, most of the interesting plays involved the secondary objectives (lord kill, boss theft, tranq/calm spawn). Which shows how good this game could have been if Anet hadn’t been stuck with Conquest for 2 years.
Was watching the EUvsNA Match @Gamescom
If I wouldn t have known they shared their spot with twitch i would have directly passed thm without any notice. There were a lot of huge twitch slogans but literally none of Guild Wars 2. Everyone had to sit on the floor while there were not even chairs included for the allstar tournement. Pretty much of a difference to the showing two years ago at release.
Not that they didn’t promote their tournaments what’s already rlly bad, they also gave us the wrong time on their All stars website.
Was Gamescom a success?
i guess not
i dont care bout e-sports and i did not watch tournament but gamescom is all about NEWS
Devs present their new shiny games or extensions and in all gamescom news on all websites i did check on the weekend i found absolut nothing about Arenanet and Guildwars 2. No News. Noone care bout them. So NO i dont think it was a success.
It was a failure. It was embarrassing at times but it’s better than nothing.

No big surprise. I hope ANET learned their lesson here. Do not send a team vs PUGs. Otherwise it is just embarrassing for everyone.
Everyone must use the same everything
Otherwise there will be complaining and finger pointing
As to who had some advantage
It’s like this in any sport/competitive environment
That’s just the way that it is

I think he meant that there were no news about Guild Wars 2 (as in nothing about anything new in Guild Wars 2) rather than no coverage for the tournament.

No it’s not. Not at all. Do you think that all sports people use the same equipment? Do you think that Tiger Woods uses the same clubs as Rory McIlroy, for example? They don’t. Not even close.
The equipment restrictions were because SteelSeries co-sponsored the tournament, they won’t want people to see the players using their competitor’s equipment.
I think anet thinking of all stars was like the best of the best in the nba go play for the united states world team instead of sending the Spurs to represent the united states team. So GW2 probably thought best of the best NA players, (although, I know of even better players than these current ones, ex. Stunningstyles) to represent the NA team and yes there should have been an option to insert a players name as well.
As for the tournament games, like I said in a different post, I had no idea when they were until I read the forums, also I’m not going to waste my time trying to figure out the difference between my timezone and the CEST timezone is. If CEST is the games timezone it should say the games timezone and/ or both. I know what Zulu time is as well, but if games time is same thing as Zulu time, yet they word it in the European language (those silly Europeans and there metrics and everything), I still don’t know what it is, they should just say Zulu time instead of CEST.
As I said in a different post, its the small things that will prevent this game from being more successful than it currently is. Small things make a big difference. Small things are like, when on an American forum, use American friendly language and not this CEST bullkitten.
anet should have put a bigscreen TV inside the mist and broadcast the event, maybe then I would have seen or knew about it going on. =]

What do you think this is, ALO or something? ;3

How is announcing three $50,000 tournaments not news about Guild Wars 2? It’s not the Gamescom tournament coverage, it’s a completely different tournament with cash prizing.
Most gw2 players don’t care about that sort of news only a small minority do. Majority of gw2 players want in game changes.

Because it’s not about anything new that you can actually do in GW2. Not any new plans for the game. It’s not new content, it’s not new features, it’s a competition that is great for those few players and all but largely irrelevant to the vast majority of players playing the actual game.

Prices in form of money doesn’t make the game suddenly good.

It’s huge succes for dota to watch tournaments in the client and get the whole community involved.
For gw2 it probably doesn’t matter as no1 would want to watch this bad pvp anyways.
And who cares about the 50K tournaments. If your reason for playing this game is to make money, then you probably should’ve considered a different game…
Honestly the only reason people still play the game is because the PvP is the antithesis of bad. Most the players who left the game left because of the lack of incentive to play. If you don’t like to play the game then leave.
Wait…
The All-Stars Tournament already happened?

What’s the scale for good and bad? There are lots of pvp games to each his own. Most people that still play this game enjoy the other players they’ve meet. Whole guilds from gw2 have moved to other games and back. They have these things called gaming communities it’s so rad!
