I just had a match at the start ranger and necro ran far from mid. Because they didn’t see the enemy team.
The enemy team mind you, had 3 MESMERS, maybe one of them has mass invisibility?! I watched two of my team mates run from mid point, leaving me absolutely dumbfounded.
Ironically, the kitten stupid necromancer had Champion Phantom, clearly a title he doesn’t deserve.

This is a terrible idea. What if I want to form a team with my friend who I introduced to the game and his rank is too low? Does that mean I wont be able to play with my friend? Just like I can’t play WvW with my friends on another server because they permanently LOCKED that server for transfer?
This game is becoming less and less geared towards playing with friends.

Play non ranked with your friend, I assume? If your friends is brand new and likely bad, shame on you for trying to take him into ranked play or higher tier games. Everyone else suffers in the process. Why can’t you just go play with them what they can do until they get a few ranks under their belt? It’d be better practice for them rather than sitting in downed state most of their fights.

Why couldn’t you just… Play with your existing account? Nothing wrong with keeping new accounts out of ranked for a little bit, so long as the rank requirement isn’t super high. New players, even if you think “they’re good” or “have potential” have no real purpose in Ranked. Time is needed to learn more than just combat basics. So just play in standard play with them. Hardly limiting. Once they get a few rank levels, which isn’t hard early on, then they can do ranked and likely have a better grasp on the game modes. No big deal. Right now it’s a noob trap and very frustrating for people who have to be teamed with them.

I still don’t get why people want to discourage people from playing PvP. That is a bad solution.
The better solution is… wait for it…. wait for it…. ANET to actually introduce matchmaking that works.

New players don’t need matchmaking, they need to understand game mechanics.
I could argue that until you are rank 20, you DON’T have a grasp on PvP. Even if you have 4,000 hours of WvW, sPvP is a whole different beast altogether. Heck, I’d lock players out of ranked till rank 40. Sure, that will take a month or two of PvP but if you are players PvPing for two months, those are your dedicated players, those are you players that WILL be doing ranked.

The fact is, people trying to get past the PvP lock to play ranked, WILL be playing ranked. I see it more as a goal than a restriction.

In order to prevent future Teamque from beeing a free-for-all …. once more…. and implanting rank req , is it posible to have an ‘’Golden Reaward track’’ that you can click and choose Rewards from other tracks and offer x5 of the same boxxes (but not money) ?
Or x10 if you have some slightly more MMR (some wins atlest) ?

Wow. You really don’t get it. People only learn by playing. Who cares if they play in ranked or unranked?? Matchmaking should put people together who are at similar skill levels.

You just don’t understand, let me spell this out.
There are a LOT more PvPers with 100+ games than there are with >10 games.
Guild Wars 2 PvP community is SMALL. I fight an Abjured or Apex premade at least once a night, I assure you that if this game had more hardcore PvPers I might never see a premade ‘pro’ team. I am a great Elementalist (getting better at thief and mesmer) but I don’t have the time (or sanity) to play enough to have 10,000+ games under my belt like most pro teams do.
You can walk into Heart of the Mists, ask everyone how many games have they played. I bet you’ll find 2 people that have under 20 games.

I remember a discussion about this.
I think Low rank requisite are really low, maybe like 10 or 20 i dunno, just to prevent completely new players to play some game rank mode (maybe ranked).
PS Doing 0-20 is really fast.
