Q:
What is wrong with scoreboard???
You can figure this out by looking down at the bottom where kills/deaths are listed. BUT, yes the scoreboard isnt very indicative of contribution.
Bunkers are awesome at helping matchs be won, but often place last on scoreboard.
Yeah… because GW2 is totally a PvP based game.
It’s true, the glory points/scoreboard don’t really reflect how well people are playing. I’m not sure that’s really possible, though—you’ll always have a high k/d ratio if you zerg clockwise, but you won’t really win. There could be total damage/healing numbers, but 2 bunkers who get into an endless fight over a neutral point would top the charts, while players who burst people down would look like their damage is weak.
I was put off by the lack of information when I first started, too. But honestly I don’t think this game can have stuff like that. Most stomp interrupts, maybe? Amount of time prolonging a 1v2? The things that make a good player in GW2 don’t fit well into spreadsheets.
maybe healed the most, stayed alive longest, most damage, longest on point, most revives, just a few off the top of my head
stayed alive the most? idk ull see some tools kiting aroudn to avoid fights to pick that one up. Holding a point, thats not bad.

see what u mean, i can imagine ppl hiding in a corner

lol can you imagine that!
some great suggestions, these sort of stats would be a big incentive for actually playing well rather than getting the highest score. So many times in a team game i start capping an enemy point and 2 or more of my team run on half way through and stand there, so i just leave knowing my presence does nothing to help the team, and they have higher scores. I think there should also be more flavour text like “xxx is conquering”, as this makes the player feel appreciated, i got “xx is a combat medic” or something the other day and was chuffed because i hadn’t seen it before, it made me feel appreciated/recognized. There should be tons of these.
I’m sure there is more to pvp than nice score boards. Play some more, maybe you’ll learn to love it. :p
This is a team-based game, especially in PvP where teamwork will 100% of the time trump individual skill. Why would they then introduce a ton of stat-trackers that encourage you to not play with the team? The one thing they display right now (the points), already encourage people to mindlessly zerg it out instead of play smart.

Score is irrelevant as long as you win, no? It’s not like ranks are important either way
But yeah, I do agree that the scoreboard is a bit too much of the offensive players’ favour. I’m guessing this is because Anet intented SPvP to be action packed, not just someone sitting on a capture point for a large part of the game.
