Why are TPvP matches allowed to start 4v5?
Because…they don’t have the technology to prevent it. NO ONE DOES! You probably won’t see that software developed for YEARS!!!!!

We have been complaining about matches starting 4v5 since solo queue was originally introduced (last year). Probably longer in older tpvp game modes too, but I didn’t follow the PvP community much before solo queue.
Anet doesn’t fix it.

It seems like they tried to implement it, I’m assuming thats what the “I’m Ready” button was for.
Honestly though, how hard would it be to implement a check that would kill a game instance and throw everyone back into que after the pre game timer runs out and there is only 9/10 people in?
They should pause the game on 4vs5 and add the next person to join solo que before they resume.

That’d be good though that’d naturally require the person that didn’t show up to be punished with a dishonored debuff as otherwise people could abuse this system by joining the match and leaving if they didn’t like whom they were to play against.
With no leaving consequence people could abuse this.
There are leaving consequences though.
After 3 (I think) leavings you get suspended from tPvP for 3 days or something like that.

Dishonor buff is pretty harsh guise.
If you leave a game 5 times (or go AFK for 3+ minutes) within 72 hours you can be removed from tpvp for 3 days.
Everytime you leave/afk you get a ‘tick’ that refreshes every 3 days

Idk why any matches are allowed to start with uneven teams. Even in hotjoin… yes hotjoin isn’t serious, people farm it for lewtz, monthly wins, etc. by purposefully outnumbering the other team. That’s bad behavior that shouldn’t be rewarded.
Simply only allow players in 2 at a time (one on each team). Que the rest and let them in as pairs.
Bam even teams. No need to tweak the numbers for dishonored etc.

Apart from me hating dishonored being 3 days at minimum, I will say you are on to something Aberrant.
I feel it gets much worse lately… I only play 3 games a day for dailies… but last week at least 1 of those 3 was 4 vs 5. ’And it would be so simple to just cancel the match and wait for another one… Instead you are forced to play already lost match.
In hotjoin you at least have chance someone might join… in solo arena, you’re already doomed. They may as well add “forfeit” button so that team doesn’t have to spend 15 minutes loosing…
