Why blurred frenzy have 100% autofacing?
It’s how it’s designed, as silly as it is.
But now they’re hating cause a brotha finally got some buzz
www.twitch.tv/Follidus – Team Absolute Legends
What’s the reason for having Mesmer’s automatically face their targets even during the cast of blurred frenzy? I haven’t seen any other ability in the game do this? This means that if I’m standing in front of the Mesmer and he casts blurred frenzy and then I dodge roll behind him he will automatically turn around and face me continuing to cast blurred frenzy. He doesn’t have to do any of the turning himself.
With something like 100 blades, I can dodge role behind the warrior and the rest of his 100 blades will miss because he will continue to be facing forward.
Well, Heart Seeker has Evade, and auto-track in to target also.
For the record, there are certain skills that do too many stuff – high attack, low CD, evade, auto-target in one package while there other skills have little to no damage, have longer cast times and/or longer CDs, and are sooo freakin hard to land since they don’t have auto facing or auto-track targets like Eles Staff Air skill Gust.
As Follidues has pointed out, it’s how it’s designed.
later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
Heck, even the warrior one-handed sword burst ability “flurry”, as weak as it is, doesn’t allow you to turn during the channel.
Some men just want to see the world burn.
Well, Heart Seeker has Evade,
Might want to fact check that, buddy.

Sorry for that. I meant the Leap animation and not actually evade. But still, when that thief jumps here and there like a bunny on fire, it’s easy to miss your hits, yes? XD

Someone said that months ago, and people who complained about it just parroted it without fact checks. Still happens to this day. Pretty common.

No, still pretty easy to land your hits. A dumb thief spamming 2222222. Where’s he going to go? Oh yeah, he’s gonna leap right at your face. And if you really wanna kitten them off, there’s immobilize.
…Followed by constant /l (or /s), “22222222, LOL!”
This is bullkitten … We all know mesmers are over powered already and yet the can evade attacks while blurred frenzy which auto targets your enemy… 100 blades should do the same. Specially since it has a longer cast time.
100 blades does ~10 000 damage – very hard to land
Blurred Frenzy does ~2 000 damage – not so hard to land
not so bad, imo
Mesmers are for the worst players possible, invulnerable or teleporting nearly all the time while their PvE entities keep doing damage. A ton of mesmers out there don’t even know how to strafe yet win 1v1 against much more skilled opponents of other professions.

Pretty much this. They can also focus more on other utilities without having to mind the positions of the illusions whether letting them attack the target until they die or auto-track targets for a shatter. But we’re way off track of the topic here. XD

I know I’m setting myself up to be flamed to death but..
Couldn’t you just.. idk, dodge sideways or away and thus be out of the way of the attack?

even worse is that its also a 2sec invulnerable on a traited 8sec CD … that means 25% of the time, the mesmer will be invulnerable – add to this his clone spamm and stealth… well…
compared to warrior endure pain, 4sec invulnerable – 90sec CD …
But not good enough!
Mes is my main… And if the person dodges out of the way of my blurred… I have never noticed myself moving to track them while I do it… However most blurred frenzies are preceeded by iLeap>swap and the swap is an immobilize… So if perfectly timed right you cant dodge anyways… But this is interesting… If you do dodge out of the immobilize then yeah the blurred should miss you… However as someone else has said… You could dodge a different direction… Backwards… Sideways…. I hope it is a bug though… There is enough hate on mesmers.

What’s funny is a lot of good players are Mesmers… You know the guys that cohosted the SOTG? Yeah mesmers… And a lot of mesmer players have designed builds around dodging/strafing trying to stay as mobile as possible… Sure there are terrible players out there that started a mesmer and got it to level 2 and only use it in hotjoins because it confuses new players but that is no reason to clump an entire group of players in with “baddies” jerk… But then again every other player in hot joins is a thief/engi/ele/mesmer usually don’t see anything outside of that really.
i think blurred frenzy only auto target the target if the players doesn’t hold down right click. If u hold down right click i think the character will still face where the target was at 1st.

Blurred Frenzy turns you invulnerable.
evens out, imo.
but still comes on top because of hurr durr autoface

Down with the braindead faceroll classes.

1) Some classes have positional requirements, and being able to get behind a player for mis-judging a skill and using it incorrectly is a fair consequence.
2) Even if you don’t care about positional skills, auto-facing clears players out of melee range -when blurred frenzy is done, you will not be in melee range of the mesmer (since if you were, they’d have been hitting you with blurred frenzy), giving him a a slight edge when combat restarts (read : when he can be hit again)
pre-ordered HOT at this point,
save yourself the money and don’t bother.
OMG mesmar OP lol. I always hated this part of blurred frenzy.
If I’m out of dodges, I can just run straight through a 100 blades or pistol whip and be positioned behind the warrior or thief and they are channeled ability won’t hit me anymore. However in the case of facing and Mesmer, the Mesmer will automatically turn around and continue to channel blurred frenzy. Yes I could move sideways or backwards, but the movement speed is not as fast as moving forward.
But but but but mesmer hurt me so mesmer OP… Nerf please :P lol jk. Srsly though… I have always understood BF to be a rooting skill… We should not be able to turn while using it…
evading backwards or sideways is not always an option because sometimes you are against the wall or maybe on a ledge and evading backwards is impossible or because you fall off the ledge.
Of course you also have a limited number of evades. When my evades run out and I can dodge anymore, then moving forward through the enemy is the quickest option because moving sideways or backwards means not only I move slower but there is also a wider hit box arc that I stay in before I’m able to move my character outside of the hit box. Of course this isn’t always the case, but when it is the case having the option to move forward through the enemy is possible with warriors and thieves, but currently not possible with Mesmer’s because they will automatically turn around to continue the channel.

“every other player is half of the classes”
9/10 would giggle again
Okay then let’s drop the issue of evading to the side or backwards. Let’s just talk about when you’re out of evades and your only option is to run. When it comes to a warrior a thief doing 100 blades or pistol whipped, I can just run straight through them and be out of their hit box very quickly. But I can’t do this with the Mesmer because he automatically turns around and continues to hit me.
Yes you can run side or backwards, but you don’t move as quickly and also you don’t move out of the hit box as quickly because there is a 130 yard melee frontal cone.

warrior doing hundred blades actually hits behind them, but i heard they’re fixing that and making their cone bigger. no love for pistol whip T.T though.
So many kids crying about mesmers, yet a thief can run up on a tank mesmer and backstab for 18k in under 2 seconds from stealth and a warrior can 100b for upwards of 14k+ damage (and can certainly do an immobilize with bolas – which are equally as easy to avoid as the mesmer’s iLeap). iLeap is hilariously easy to avoid if you pay attention.
Grow up guys. Are you really going to continue crying about this? Sounds like a L2Play issue. #cliche
