It’s just your perception dude, sorry but there’s no skill there. I play bm ranger since release and is a broken spec since day1. Lol i remember when ppl complained how bad bm tree was. Good times. Also all classes in this game are fairly easy to play but 2 of them are way too easy: ranger and mesmer. Npcs based classes.
I used to join empty servers in spvp to duel other players on my bm ranger. I got so many pms “dude your awesome”, “what’s your secret”, “ranger op”, “haxxx”. My secret? Spam short bow one and sword evades while my ravens were killing the poor guy. Definitely superior skill level lol. That mesmer killed you. Do you know why? Cos it’s hard for your pet to follow the mesmer due to its many teleports, stealths etc; expecially if you weren’t using a bird.
The ranger is the only class in this game that can spec full tank and still do lots of dmg. Pet mechanic is bad designed. Has always been. It was implemented too late and probably (almost certainly) superficially tested.
Now you can go back on your bm bunker ranger and keep telling yourself how skilled you are.

If the ranger is down….and your having a hard time getting the stomp in… KILL THE PET….or CC the pet

Even with attemp to CC, pet still execute the heal regardless and to some class, pet can not be killed by player.

When I play tournaments I hate bouncing bunkers of the point then kitting them around for awhile going “hey when you guys got the time, come to point X and kill this bunker for me”. It just isn’t fun, its boring, dull and pretty devoid of skill. The exact opposite of what the game should be.

All I see now in WvW and spvp are rangers. FOTM!

You don’t have 10 mins to waste on a 1v1 in a tournament. This itself shows how imbalanced they are atm.

If in a proper PvP tourney, wasting all your time and resources just to take on 1 bunker is not a wise thing to do. My team usually ignore him and capture the other points. If he join the group fight, he hit like wet noodle,you can actually ignore him.if he is bunker one point, means the other 2 only have 4 people cap. With 5 players on your team can not take down the other 4, I don’t know what to say. But I agree the pet hit hard right now though. In Bunker Ranger, we simply can not ignore the pet at this point of the game. Anet sure buff Pet hard.

Stomp the ranger. No matter what combo of KD, fear, stun the ranger does he cannot get up if you keep trying to stomp.

One class has limited of CC skill, for example, even with Eles, being considered has way too many CC, only have 2 KD skill, Updraft which lifts backward and then Eles has to walk back in to stomp, and then stomp. With all the time use to walk close to Ranger and then cast stomp, Rangers already can rally himself with pets, not to mention, Ranger has the CC skill itself while downing (skill 2) and Fear from the Dogs, he can interrupt while you cast stomping while the pet keep healing the Rangers. The other CC Eles has is Earthquake but the Rangers will do the same to keep the stomping. Not to mention, Rangers is the only class that can access to f2 skill while downed and in underwater combat, Ranger can never be killed.

I play direct dmg ranger and I can drop everything I have on a tanky ranger and ill take like 35% of his health. I think its the scaling of the bunker stats them selfs not ranger alone bunker necro ele and eng are all out of control. The only bunker I don’t have a problem with is guard because they have proper range/dmg limitations though I do think the radius on their bubbles should be brought down. Oh also ranger short bow range should not be 1200 more like 900.

Ranger shortbow can be 900 range when its arrows bounce like the thief and he gets proper aoe.

Another thing I’d like to add is this peculiar speed pets seem to have. To clarify, why is a pet able to catch up to me when I am kiting away under swiftness?

Nothing should run faster than a thief, nerf it!

They can run twice as fast as player as long as they don’t chase around the world…

The pet should get back to its owner if it gets to far from him, 1600-1800 maybe!?
