A week has passed since the implementation of leagues. We all know it would be chaotic at the start, but it would be interesting to see if the chaos is declining with time.

So here is the 1-week followup to collect some data. If you can supply some quick information, that would be great:

1) Day you started ranked league (e.g., last Tuesday was day 1)
2) Your division.
3) Is your win-rate below 50%?
4) Stuck, or are you advancing?
5) Are you experiencing huge loss-streaks?
6) Are you continuing to play in Ranked?

Hopefully this will give us a qualitative sense for how the leagues are equilibrating with time (ANet has this data but we don’t!). Thanks!

EDIT: Data for week 1 (10 days into league, 3/3/2016) are attached below.

I would also say that people should post their Season 1 vs Season 2 data.

1) Started playing sunday 28th
2) ATM Sapphire Tier 4
3) Honestly can’t compute this, I didn’t write down all the game played in this season
4) I’m stuck at Tier 4, progressed very quickly from Amber to Tier 3 sapph
5) I’m experiencing the very, very bad matchmaking – i.e.: I had roughly an 80-90% win ratio from amber up to sapphire T3, as soon as I hit the sapphire T3 my win rate went down the toilet, around 30%: this shows how much the use of MMR for composing team is flawed, you can’t go from very good to very bad just when you go from T2 to T3, it’s not like you jump from that tier to, say, diamond div.
6) Probably I will a little, just to hit ruby, after that I’ll just do my 3 dailies to complete part IV of the achies and then quit altogether, there’s no fun in playing stacked games.

So what exactly are you trying to prove with this one?? There is no way to tell someone MMR based on this form. The fact are average/ high skilled player with low MMR where paired with noob at the start of the season while others (with high MMR) where place together; and each group had to compete against one another. Of course a good player will always catch up. However, ANET favoring one side over the other was wrong.

So there us no basis to collect data, i.e. a noob with high MMR who got carried all the way to ruby; who is now having trouble reaching diamond or experiencing loss streak in ruby.

Honestly, I’d just like to know if there’re other people who are experiencing the same that happened to me (read my previous post), i.e. going from uber high win rate to absymal kittenty win rate just stepping into a new tier of the same division.

That is already an indicator of how bad the matchmaking is, a good matchmaker should give you very high win rate at start until you approach your theoretical skill cap, the more you reach that cap the more you start to lose games, up to the point (cap) where you are around a 50% win/rate. But it should be a lot more continuous (like a math function) and not so steep.

4)I stick for a day in a win 2 lose 3 merry go round, on average. Sometimes I go 1 for 1, then I get 3 games in a row and advance.
5) On the second day I had a 15 game losing streak. Not had one that big since, last one was 5 ,but then won 5 to jump me from T2-T4 Emerald.
6) No, had enough of this now.

4) after i got to ruby, I instantly got the enemy teams i faced at emerald etc.
10% are new to pvp.
20% go afk or leave after first dead
20% are just really bad but try hard
20% are good and you get some fair matches
10% are really good—>most time u will easy win cause of them+ yourself.

most people will get to ruby after some time. without a good report system u will never ban the 20-30% of people going afk. with this people and due the fact that ur mmr is hard to improve cause of the match making problems you will just get out of ruby with a good team, luck, or you are godlike pro at pvp. the people who deserverd diamond but arent good enough to carry 1-2 totaly bad players,like esl legendary, cant get out of ruby hell.

6) i will stop rankd for some weeks. dont get me wrong i dont think im the best pvp guy. i play pvp for like 1 year now and got around 3k matches. before this season my winrate was around 55%-60%. last season i play in legendary and i did well vs good players/streams and stoped at tier 3-4 in legendary cause of school. now i got a point where the people in ruby are not caring about afking etc. where matches are pre decided…so i wait till more people are in ruby and i can play more fair match ups again.

6) Continuing to play ranked soloq. Also 90% of matches in S1 were soloq as well. Win rate was ~40% getting to Ruby tier 3.

1) I started on the first day of the league
2) Ruby division, tier 5
3) At the moment I win slightly more than half my matches, but I had a 29-game win streak to start the league.
4) I am steadily advancing, there hasn’t been a day where I have earned no pips.
5) Not at all, my longest loss streak is 3 games since the start of the league.
6) Regardless of how much I win or lose, nothing will stop me playing ranked as much as I can until I reach legendary. It was the same with last season.

4) Still advancing. Won 10 out of 12 three days ago, lost 3 out of 4 last night, won 7 in a row last night and then split the next 8 matches.

5) yes, last Sunday was really the worst ever in PVP for me, about 30-50 matches, won 5 in total. It didn’t matter which classes, what builds etc. All matches were lost big time.

Regardless on class and build im just loosing game after game.
Im rank 80 and played over a thousand matches, but since season 2 started im loosing ca. 9 of 10 games. its frustrating to the max.

3) I had a 22 win streak (yes, I counted) until Sapphire at which I had about a 60-70% win rate until ruby. Now I’ve not had much time to pvp due to RL issues, so I’ve only been doing the 3 daily matches. I’ve lost the past 5 matches, though.
4) I haven’t played enough in ruby to really know if I’m “stuck”, but like I said, I’ve lost the past 5 games.
5) Aforementioned.
6) Only the daily 3, for now. More when I have time, probably.

Not sure what this list would accomplish but here you go!

1) Day 2? Might have been Day 3. Its been a week and I can’t even remember wtf I did yesterday.

2) Emerald T1 – T2 (I keep bouncing back and forth)

3) I think its roughly 49% now

4) Semi stuck. I win 1, lose 1, win 1, lose 3, win 1, etc. Very much a 1 step forward, 2 steps back frustration. It would be less frustrating if the losses weren’t 500 -13, 500 – 125, 500 – 40, etc etc. I’ll get 1 game with people that know what they are doing, then I’ll get a bunch of games that leave me going “team? hello? where’d everyone go? wtf are you doing?”

5) Huge? No…unless you count 5-6 as huge. Conversely I’m not getting the huge win streaks either (obviously).

6) Considering I solo q’ed my way into the final tier of Ruby last season, the fact that I can’t seem to break out of Emerald this time around is disheartening. I honestly don’t know if I’m going to play much beyond the 3 required daily games for the league daily achievement, and I’m finding it hard to find the motivation to do that.

Unranked is more fun atm, low level pvp-ers like me that still want good matches play unranked, quality of the average unranked match has DRASTICALLY improved, coincidence? I play ranked to try out new builds atm :P

Did it twice, won once, was carrying the team pretty badly with a pistol/shield support/bunker engi. Does that say something about me or does that say something about ranked S2? When I test something I actually play the ball game because else testing something would be useless, so my team will suffer minimal inconvenience/not even notice. We probably won because I ran a support build in the first place, causing my team not to blow up in seconds.

The fact that I didn’t afk once in ranked s2 while suffering devastating loss after loss tells us enough about my resolve I think. I played through the majority of season 1 with a headbutt warrior, back then I easily had a 50% winrate, and I didn’t cheat. Got to league 4 while doing so before the opponents were getting really tough and I started losing more.

Ranked lacks serious competition, so I can’t take it seriously, srry…

I said this in another thread, but it seems like some players are getting screwed waiting for folks with higher MMR’s to go through; and not just the high level players but the ones a notch or two below them such as somebody like myself who has usually been around a 60% win rate in previous ranked iterations. Most likely need to make a preseason during the breaks to keep placements going into the next season as has been mentioned.

win rate of maybe75% so far.. kind of nice. I notice I’m getting lessed matched with players that do really dumb things… although the games I notice I lose there is always at least one player running into losing fights not understanding peeling and always snowballing.. or going for beast when team needs more in team fights…

last season was very frustrating for me….

although i just had two matches… last one landslide, obvious baddies on my team… and the other one had a guardian that did exactly what I stated above.

3) Is your win-rate below 50%? Drastically. Amber was a breeze (No losses). Lost two games, got to Emerald T3, and since then it’s been Win 2, Lose 2, Win 2, Lose 2.

5) Are you experiencing huge loss-streaks? Not exactly. Experiencing 2 + 2.

Started to play from day 1, amber was pretty ok for me. i Hit Emerald on day 3 t4 and i thought it was pretty easy compared to season 1 bcos at that time i was having like 8 winning streak. Day 4 onwards the nightmare began having 7-8 losing streak. As soon i win a match, the subsequent 5-8 matches was losses. So far i have not lost more than 9 matches in a row. Still stuck at emerald t4 and i just do my dailies 3 matches. Once i have like 5 losing streak, i will logout.

I just hope this wont continue.

I’m sharing this guy’s experience and just login for the dailies. I went straight into sapphire and am being stacked constantly versus premades or with seemingly first timer PvPers versus teams of primordial legends. Do not like where htis is going.

As the guy said, it’s impossible to have no loses up to sapphire and then being unable to progress and mostly getting roflstomped with scores of the likes 50-500 I’d understand and agree that im a crappy player if my team was scoring at least 300-400 points. But as it is … this is kitten
