An Ele on my team went down and someone trying to stomp him but I also trying to rez him with Signet of Undeath. I was winning in racing but at the last moment Ele used Vapor Form ran away from my SoU’s AoE

Same thing happened to me and it was with an ele as well, tried to use banner to revive him but he went away in Vapor Form to enemy side just to get himself killed.

Happens a lot really, people hesitate and just press every button they can in situations they think they will die. Mesmer and thief are just as bad. It can turn an even 2v2 into a 1v2 due to someones unawareness.

I was winning a 2v1 at far point. A “teammate” came to far point with like no health left with someone chasing them, went down, got stomped and rallied the two people I downed. I died 3v1.

Well, tbh sometimes I happen to accidentally mistform when someone is using baner because I rather watch my enemies than allies. It can happen without any voice com. I wouldn’t blame the ele so much as Signet of Undead is used very very very little and people do not expect it so they hit their panic button.

Happened alot when I tried to rev thieves, especially in PVE.
They deserve to die for teleporting for no reason though.

I have to admit I sometimes accidentally Overpowered Shot enemies being downed away from the stomper, just because I’m so used to getting them off point asap and then cleaving them to death.

I also tend not to notice when someone stealths me so they can rez me and keep attacking breaking the stealth when things get chaotic.

But yeah, you die you learn I guess ^^

My WTF moments are usually when I am actually capable of solo-ressing someone in the middle of a teamfight and survive with over 75% of my health

I mean… that is quite the achievement nowadays

As a thief you have WTF moments nearly every time you try to rez someone. In PUG teams I always ping Shadow Refuge 1 second before I use it in chat. Nevertheless in 9 out 10 instances the guy I am going to rez. didn’t stop attacking, got revealed an dies. Therefore I nearly stopped using it to rez. in PUG teams.

I main necro so getting rezzes off in busy situations is usually suicide. But my wtf moment is when I am rezzing a mesmer, thief, or ele with plague form, blinding any cleave, and then they move away and I can’t rez them again.

Also hate when I’m absolutely going to get a rez off for a warrior and they use vengeance.

Especially if I use my log cd invuln only to have an engi knocking them back, it makes me want to murder everything around me. Sometimes I can just LF to them and finish the stomp but mostly it’s annoying. Especially when you can’t let them bleed out and you’ll have to stomp them anyway. I do understand people are used to it, though.

I know, and I’m sorry! I try to better myself by being conscious of it and I feel huge amounts of shame when the automatic muscle reflex does happen to kick in. Lizard brain I suppose. Anyway, I’m sorrry!

The worst for me is when I try to bleed a player out and two to three allies rush to my “aid” and all initiate stomps against the player I’ve already downed, and then say “wtf” when I don’t thank them.

Enemy and myself fall into downed state, team mate runs over dragging other enemies with him and tries to res me, instead of cleaving/stomping downed enemy resulting in both of us dying. Christ.

Not all, he was just doing what he was supposed to do and I couldn’t tell him either because it was PUG. I was just thinking, sometime when doing the right thing it isn’t always the best thing LOL

As a small advice from experience, don’t expect the others to know that you are going to put down SR. In your situation you have two options. Before you put down SR check to see if the downed person is attacking or not. If not then you know what to do. But if he is attacking, you still have one last chance. It is hard to pull off but not impossible. You just jump in there hard rez him and timing your SR at the last moment when the stomp go off. 1/4sec to 1/2sec of stealth should be enough to prevent the first stomp from being successful .

Allies come to rezz me.. Get ported to mid.

I’m reviving a thief and at 70% hp he teleports into an eles churning earth and gets 1 shot.

ALWAYS rezz them after they use vapor form. It was your fail.

I think you are expecting too much from random people that just end up on the same team as you. I have seen countless people who would just do nothing and let themselves get stomped because they don’t expect anything from me or they don’t see the worth value on living a little longer or maybe they are just new. On the other hand, we are talking about an 3sec cast time time racing against another 3sec cast time stomp. Do you think I have the free time to make my best decision with one of my ally just went down with 3 enemies nuking and stomp on his body? Also I never said the blame was on him.

This thread isn’t about who is right or wrong but the lack of communication can lead to something undesirable funny or sad.

I had an ele vapor form WHILE I was almost done rezzing him..wasted cooldowns trying to survive the cleave for nothing.

I constantly revive people and interrupt stompers just to see them go afk. Like after they are alive they don’t try to run away or anything. Just stand still and die again 3s later.

I HAD ONE.

Fighting on far point, 3v3. Enemy ranger goes down, then me at super low health, I go down next. Teammate mesmer sees me go down, as I’m getting cleaved by the enemy, while third teammate is desperately trying to stomp ranger, but unable to. Mesmer rushes to me, starts attempting to rez. But he cannot rez in time while he gets cleaved, so he drops a portal to escape. But oh no! The enemies manage to burst him down to down state! Last teammate manages to burst one of the enemies into downstate, and rushes toward mesmer and me to start rezzing….

on the other side: Please recall that the other player might not know you are heading to rez them. I (semi-noob – dolyak level) generally go under the assumption that I am not going to be rezzed, even if I see a teammate coming over to the point. (If I was at a higher level I might change my assumptions, but for the most part I’m accompanied by other less experienced players like myself.)

As an ele main, that frequently means that if there is a fight going on, I’m probably going to scoot off the point in the hopes of distracting/luring away one of the fighters temporarily, giving my teammate a chance to finish off the other one, and/or possibly allowing my teammate to neutralize/cap a point while the enemies (presumably also of my level) are following me.

Also, when I’m there alone, I’m probably focused on my health bar and taking care of myself in the last stages of being downed. I’m not looking at the map at that point. I have gotten griped at by teammates who were nowhere near me until I got downed, and who expected me to know that they were running across the map to rez me after I got 2v1’ed.

Granted, this is irrelevant if you’re standing in front of your teammate’s camera (which might not face the same way as their corpse), rubbing the ground, and their health is going up, and they do something dumb. But if you can ping the heal/rez/emergency skill in /team chat, or type rez inc or something similar, that might help your teammate sit still and let you do what you’re planning.
