So we played some ranked team q and one of our members went down without losing and the player who passed him didn´t play for a couple of weeks.

I wonder i anyone can explain how this is possible

Dont worry. This problem is because a bunch of monkeys have inprisoned anet staff, therefore they are designing the game

The down arrow indicates your number is going down for rank, in otherwords going from rank 100 to 20 will show a down arrow, while going from 100 → 150 will show an up arrow.

Pointing out that the ui is unintuitive, fair point.

Seriously stating that it is doing the reverse of what it should be? Check your facts.

Looks like you don´t understand the leaderboard, an up arrow on ranks means that you improved. Up arrow on wins means you have earned some wins. My mate on rank 8 has been rank 7 before, then we won 2 games and he went down a rank for winning.

It’s not about your win/loss ratio. It’s about who you win and lose against.

but he only won and lost a rank against someone who wasnt playing

It’s not about your win/loss ratio. It’s about who you win and lose against.

we didn´t lose at all, that´s the point. You shouldn´t lose rating for winning

I posted about this once months ago and i was reassured by a dev that decay was working properly and that they would be looking at how it was working and tweaking it as needed. This was obviously either an outright lie or for some reason Anet thinks their leaderboard is working fine and needs no changes now, either way it baffles me that it is still so messed up. I couldn’t bring myself to watch the latest SOTG not after seeing grouch in an Anet shirt and steppenwolf as the interviewer but was anything mentioned about the state of the leaderboard? if so i would be interested in hearing what they had to say
