Only a video can make clear what happend here :/ I would also think about corrupt boon, or boon remove.
Just record your matches… You can learn a lot from watching them later U can really see funny things… mirrorblade shatter in the same second you use stability to safe stomp… a lot of crazy things happen out there^^
The problem cant be, that you are feared before lyssa triggers, because lyssa removes conditions as well…
But the problem can be a boon remove, followed by a fear, folowed by stability given by someone else. This leads to feared while stability is up…
Please keep in mind, that there are now bugs in PvP, so if it seems to be a bug it is working as intended!

Lyssa runes are super slow. There is a gap between the condition removal and the boons. Sometimes it takes a whole second for it go come up – and it’s not a stunbreaker, man.

Stability is first on the list always to be removed by any boon removal skill – highest priority – at least it is in wvw, so I’d assume the same in spvp
And then Stability converts to Fear when Corrupted – can check the wiki article on Corrupt Boon to see all the Boon>>>Condi conversions

Really? Wow… I don’t WvW so had no idea about that.
However in sPvP it’s the complete opposite. Stability is protected against boon removal and is the lowest priority boon to be removed by deliberate design. Lyssa and a single corrupt boon will NEVER remove stability – ever.

happened 4 times in the last 2 days to me, i proc stability from lyssa runes and get ccd while stability is up (it didnt get removed, it´s a problem of things happening same time). running around in a 3sec fear and dieing feels so wrong when it´s actually you who should get the stomp off, but isntead you lose because of a stupid bug.
Happens to me all the time.
I’ve tested, I used hallowed ground and I got feared multiple times in it. Dunno what causes it.

Well since hallowed ground pulse every seconds you can be feared if one of the pulse convert stab into fear.
But I think it happened to me a few days ago, got feared while stab stomping, still had the stab icon.

It happens to me a lot .Not only fear but mostly.Other ccs too usually when i try to stomp.So many bugs.If you pvp a lot and rely heavily on stability like war you will notice a lot of tuese occourences.Could also be lag? Cc proccing somehow before the boon serverside due to some latency while clientside you see the boon up and running (visualy)

You can totally corrupt the stability on Lyssa runes, just like you can steal the stability from Lyssa runes.

corrupt boon turns 5 boons into condis and it can´t hit on stability from lyssa
I think the lag on the servers is REALLY HIGH right now so that skills and effects do really funny things. My de-targeted Ride the Lightnings have gone in some really weird directions lately (toward my last target which hasn’t been targeted for a second). You get a free dodge-roll forward AFTER being immobilized now, most of the time. Other funny things are happening too. Not sure what is going on, but something is borked.

There is gap between poison and lyssa activation. Poison is 1,1/2s cast time and then theres maybe another 1/4s before buffs come up.
So if you cast reapers mark when enemy starts applying poison theres good chance you will fear him with buffs, or if you use death shroud 3 then you can do it when poison is like mid cast.
If the described scenario is true: You didnt actually get stability before u got feared, its just looked like it on your client side, because of lag between you and the server, for the necro it looked like he feared you before u got stability and for the server as well. Ofc thats not 100% sure just my observation, since similar things happened a lot back in the days, like you get hit by immo although u dodged it and actually get a dodge while immobilized.

Its not necessarily lag, you can try it out, the time between poison and buff might be even 0.5 second, if you have instant fear ready then you have more than enough time to cast it before boons land.

Are you sure about this? I use Arcane Thievery quite a bit in my build and it seems to ALWAYS grab stability not matter what else is up.
I try to remember to check for it before applying a daze/stun/knock back. If stability is up, Arcane Thievery first to grab it. And then I can proceed with my daze/stun/knock back.

Are you sure about this? I use Arcane Thievery quite a bit in my build and it seems to ALWAYS grab stability. I usually check for it before applying a daze/stun/knock back. If stability is up, Arcane Thievery first to grab it. And then I can proceed with my daze/stun/knock back.
I remember AT being really random with lyssa boons; stealing stuff I don’t really wanna steal.. and not letting me lock down my target..
This may have been ninja changed as all the big changes arena net does like ;
you can now switch classes during tournaments.
Just letting you guys know that every boon steal/corrupt/remove has it’s own unique table of what boons it steals/corrupts/removes. Some of these tables are common, (steals prioritize stability, corrupts do stability last) but mostly you have to learn each ability.

Also happened that i got feared, removed it istantly but kept running out of point (Khylo 1v1 at mid with bunker guardian) and lost the point cuz i went down the upper part…he didn’t fear me again or corrupt stability, just one fear, cleaned it but kept running even with no conditions. We already have enough fear spam imo, but making it work even after being removed seems a little bit too much to me…and yeah for op fear just ignore stability many times, the only safe way is condition removal if not bugged and still being feared..obviously..so the only REAL safe way atm is to gank the necro down asap

Boon stripping/removal is not prioritized. Never have been. Its totally random. If it was GvG scene would’ve looked dramatically different (setups/gameplay/movement would’ve changed alot). Test it yourself with necro’s axe #3.
Truth is Anet have been ignoring this for quite some time (as they had done with the boon prioritization till recently) not wanting to accept the fact that their changes on “spvp” metas change not only how 5v5 works but how WvW functions itself, giving more randomness and blur into large scale combat. Only the GvGers know how important and game changing such implementations are…
@OP It was the nightmare runes #6 proc OR as the rest said Corrupt Boon. About to hit 1,000 matches on necro and I can say it happens quite often and it’s bloody good. No hacks,exploiting or w/e,if you get it too often its because you are late with your stability,work on your reactions/rotations/cleanses

this is not true, priority is given by when the boon was applied (or how it’s listed on the skill description)

Going to confirm what chaith said each removal has its own priority.
Their is a priority.
Lyssa has a delay which can be interrupted.
Nightmare runes, boon removal, well that converts or corrupt boon skill.
Multiple ways this can happen.
Crysis, Lil Damage, Ovi, Jindavikk, Guard
Causing cancer all day.
