low hotjoin population ?
They all got good and advanced to esportz, huehuehue.
Most likely people don’t do hj nowadays since the reward for winning hj (assuming you get full reward) is the same as losing in unranked/ranked. And since reward tracks are very tasty, I would guess most people have figured out it’s faster to farm them in unranked/ranked, where you don’t even have the limitation that hj has on reward track progress.
Probably other reasons as well, but this is what comes to mind.
aaaaaah well i still do hotjoin as its faster since
no queue times
no two min warm up
auto balance fun
plus i dun play that much
as long i get volunteer reward i get to practice asa punching bag
Overall the health of the pvp population is poor. There’s less people playing in general.
Overall health of pvp in general is poor. Matches are not competitive it’s 19 times out 20 either do the the stomping or get stomped. Also most of the loud potion of the noncompetitive sPvP community lobbied so hard for Solo queuers to be used as fodder, so I’d honestly say around %90 of the decent and up solo queuers moved on to other actually competitive small structured Team Based PvP games as I have as well.
On top of the low population more then half of the players currently playing sPvP or more toxic and childish then most LoL players, which in it’s own right is a impressive achievement, tho prevents most causals from wanting to doing anything in sPvP other then the daily lobbies. If you read a few post on previous post on the forums about how to jump start GW2 sPvP again, you’ll see that most got shot down by the few players that enjoy effortless wins due to the past, present, and more then likely future iterations of the match maker system.
In conclusion, all that’s left in GW2’s PvP game mode are highly toxic, noncompetitive players and matches. The only semblance of competitiveness in GW2’s sPvP are the ESLs on twitch, and the public ran community league events. I don’t even know if players are bothering with that anymore.
But at least I admit it!
PoF guys get ready for PvE joys
nowadays i noticed that the official hotjoin rooms (server 001 server 002 … server 100 etc) seems to have only around 2 or 3 rooms with people.
well at least 2 of them are often full around 10 – 20 people with actual spectators that comment or chat with one another in /map chat.
other official hotjoin rooms seems pretty vacant. sometimes maybe 2 people go in there to farm daily or just practice dueling etc.
what happened to all the hotjoin players ?
Well for avg MMR, unranked queue time is 1 minute and half.
At high level, it’s around 3 min solo and 4 or 5 with trio.
The matches are better, except for AFK/quitters.

This is a problem I can only join 2 rooms for 5 vs 5 today. Noone is playing pvp anymore…
Idk if its the perma evade thiefs
Idk if its the chrono condi
Idk if its the Immortal Druid
Idk if it is the hammer scrapper
But PvP is dead I’m not complaining that it sucks but fix something so the game doesn’t die if it hasn’t already. Players in-game are ranting like angry forum rages. That’s not even the toxic forum community come on…

These numbers…grasped from thin air.

this is wat i do too. it is a shame, there used to be at least 20+ servers to play in, and now ~3.
it used to be a quick, easy way to have some fun pvp, but anet went a diff direction, focus on esport and conquest, not on fun
They removed the button to directly enter hotjoin, I suppose new players don’t even know how to get there… It’s a shame, hotjoin games are different from regular pvp games, coming with their own fun.
