the endless amount of summons the current iteration of necros spawns without even speccing as a MM needs to be the first to be on the hit list on their eventual nerf imo.

anet toned down traps/aura visual clutter? 40 shambling horrors packed onto a mid fight is WAAY worse in terms of clutter, not to mention its rewarding mindless spammy game play.

All of the minions do create issues when you are downed and cannot target a reaper with 1% health because 5 minions are standing between you. Granted you would still lose due to the lifesteal of the downed necro, but body blocking in downed state gives an unfair advantage. No more than stealth does, but at least stealth has a short duration.

In theory, they could get up to 12, with good alacrity and perfect hits.

All of the minions do create issues when you are downed and cannot target a reaper with 1% health because 5 minions are standing between you. No more than stealth does, but at least stealth has a short duration.

Body blocking is something you will have to work around.

Complaining about necros conditions spamming, damage in reaper shroud and survivability is okay imo but please don’t ask for a nerf on stuff that does not need a nerf at all.

Also about the shambling horror shout, I think (I am not sure) that you can only hit up to 5 targets so it does not matter if you use the skill already surrounded by other MMs, you still only hit five targets and summons 6 horrors.

Minions cleave down quite easily too.
Shambling only live for 25s if they aren’t aoed down before then.
Full MM’s sacrifice other utilities for the minion build.

Edit: Granted, if you have multiple MMs on the opponent team, it can be extremely annoying. However, it’s not any more annoying than having multiple mesmers against you, especially running chronophantasma and illusionary reversion. Ugh.

its really easy to play at lower levels, its not as easy to play at higher levels but is still possible (you actually need to time using the minions skills instead of just letting the ai do the work)

It wasn’t until top tier sapphire and low tier ruby that I began to see this.

2x MM
1x Druid with search and rescue for clutch moments
1x auramancer/healing support.

They overwhelm mid.
Never push far.
Keep one on home and back that person up when they need it.

It is its own tactic..overwhelm the screen with tons-o-minions. The druid/ele keep everything steadily healed. If any player goes down the druid withdraws to the side of node and search and rescues.

Shrewd. Effective at that level of play. Not sure if it would work at divisons/tiers higher that top sapphire/low ruby.

In a single word..annoying.

or else knockback the ranger right away and stop the res

but yes this tactic can be very useful as the minons will soak up some of the aoe on point as the aoe cap is still 5 targets

that would effect MM necros a lot less than any other build with minions as much of the necro damage is transferred out to the minions anyway (with most MM builds that is)

it would likely stop half the condi/power reapers from taking rise though as it would lessen the effects of having upto 6 shambling horrors

It would actually help if attacks prioritized players and not minions since those end up soaking up all aoe and body blocking single target attacks which imo is biggest issue.

No one is calling for a ban because if it’s in the game it’s in the game and therefore fair play. However, what we are suggesting is changing what’s in the game. Necro can still get the same DPS just in a different way requiring a higher skill ceiling. All classes should have their skill floors and ceilings raised and mechanics adjusted so losing a duel feels fair instead of some helpless incident where we come to the conclusion that no matter what we’d do we’d still lose taking those abilities and stat sets (if you don’t you’d lower your usefulness just to duel condi people better and even then the onus of skill is on the defender who needs to time his cleanses).

except the 50% damage reduction, the further increased toughness from Flesh of the Master, Necromantic Corruption’s condition transfer, and the minions as projectile shields (which makes no sense given they’re about a foot high) are all braindead because you aren’t using them, they’re using themselves.

these traits were simply not balanced with a skill like “Rise!” in mind.

The game can’t deal with too much AI really, no matter how good you are, you’re going to suffer when your screen is clogged with everything but human players. People bash stronghold because they don’t like NPC’s, but defend minions and clones. Nice joke, flawed mechanic is flawed. Sometimes PvP looks like a petting zoo with flayed lifestock.

“focus” You’re assuming every player in Sapphire/low Ruby is actually fast and efficient at moving to a called target. You have also forgotten rebound on the ele if they’re smart. If all that fails them, no doubt there will be a ton-o-unblockable marks to negotiate first before the stomp.

Like I said, its shrewd and some what effective at mid level players..however I am not 100% confident it would still work at higher levels.
