3rd time this week I run into these shenanigans. Basically a loss when someone on the team isn’t wearing any armor as they are a free kill.

Was never very clear on what is reportable behavior in spvp. I assume it isn’t. So…I guess go afk from now on? Cause this is the last game I participate in where its a pointless exercise in futility.

I remember fighting naked necros in skyhammer right after the dhuumfire patch two years ago.. They killed me so hard.

You lose defence if you go into PvP without any armor. Doesn’t matter what type of armor, just need to have armor on.

wrong, you just need shoes, trousers and a chestplate for extra toughness

I thought all the stats came from the pendant. I had heard that armor did literally nothing in pvp.

The amulet is for attributes, your item defence comes from your armour.

I have encountered this in a few matches as well. It seems like a growing trend… and yes, it is very annoying.

You lose 758 armor points if you’re heavy

Grab a 1200 toughness amulet and pretend it has about 530 toughness instead, that’s what people are doing when they remove their armor – if they’re heavy.

It makes a difference, sure, but if they’re a good player then they can get away with the handicap. Judging by the people you’ve seen doing it, looks like they really need that extra armor points lol.

Not sure why you’re saying I’m wrong – going into PvP without any armor includes going without shoes, trousers and a chestplate.

I don’t know what the big deal is, depending on the class. My guild and I were planning on running a few pvp matches without armor (at least the ones you can’t make disappear). Its just for more of a challenge. I really don’t think its that big of a deal for burst classes like mesmers and thieves. I played a pvp match a couple of weeks ago with a naked thief on my team who kicked kitten . If its a tankier class, I understand. However, if its like a thief who is wearing no armor and he was doing bad, chances are it was more him than not wearing armor.

Yes, being one-shot by a PU mesmer from stealth is clearly a skill issue for the thief and nothing to do with wearing no armor and presumably running zerk over marauder.

It use to be a trend in PvP to fight naked, it wasn’t a form of sabotage or anything, it was used as a way of protest to show how annoyed people were over the PvP rank changes.

Armor stats and level don’t matter. But you do need to have “something” in the boots, chest and leggings slots to gain full default “base” armor for sPvP.

This was a simple check to ensure people had to be clothed while they PVP.

The one guy I talked to definitely wasn’t protesting anything (was full of himself and terrible btw). The other two I tried talking to (never know maybe they didn’t even know) and from how they were acting it was trollish/drunk.

Also, unless I’m missing something, that sounds like an absolute asinine way to protest something that in no way affects anet. Like those fake godawful online petitions.

Either way I’ll be protesting through an immediate block + AFKing next time.

The system should automatically fill those slots in any ranked and unranked arena at the start of the match if they are empty.

As a bonus, they would look ridiculous. Something like If you don’t bother filling them yourself, you’ll end up with grandpa’s briefs, undershirt and socks in those slots instead.

That or ignore them and give the full armor anyways.
