Since the patch with the influx of pvp players, I’ve seen many qq threads either claiming “everyone sucks” or “people make fun of my because I’m bad”
There is no reason for this… you simply need to find the right game mode… for now, whether you like it or not solo q is casual…. it’s a place to test builds.. get some games in.. or experience tpvp… the bottom line is, if you really want to tpvp hardcore, you need to team q… obviously in solo q, you want to win however with all the new players you can’t expect an esports 5v5 environment
Tldr: solo q is for everyone hf and dont bm.. team q is competitive play to win

BEFORE you tell me you don’t have 4 friends to play with realize that you are infact NOT in a place
To play competitively and u need to either be quiet and solo q, or gather players that stand out in solo q or post on the forum and then team q

a) You do not need to gather players to be competitive. Being competitive and playing the game with other people are two completely different things. There are plenty of half formed teams that desperately need soloer’s to come fill things out for them.

b) Don’t say that solq is casual because then it’s only a matter of time before people think teamq is casual and then we’re all screwed. Keep up the standards. Hotjoin is for casuals.

Seems like there are a lot of players who love to talk down on other players, make excuses, and blame others for their lack of success.

It also seems like a lot of these players are having trouble finding friends to make a group of 5.

Somehow I don’t think this is a coincidence. =P

I agree completely, I think many could start by coming into pvp with the right attitude and not joining ranked with no idea what to do/no inclination to take a passive role for the better of the team you forced yourself into.

Why would a decent human being ever do otherwise?

I have played this game as a casual, and as a hardcore professional PvPer… I have played hundreds of solo q games, and over a thousand team q games…. This is simply my opinion about what solo q should be, in all honesty, a competitive solo q lobby would be nice, and hopefully we see unranked and ranked q in the future… One of the major problems with this, is the lack of players, and the disparity of skill, right now there are probably less than 50 players that I would call “top tier” about 100 i would call “decent” and then it falls off the cliff with 1000s of subpar players

Yeah….. lets not open the floodgates and let all the pve’rs know that going into solo team q is the new solo q.

Everyone agrees that Hotjoin is a terrible environment to learn or experience PvP, therefore solo q is the next step….

if soloQ casual then Tpvp casual too lots of pve heroes yoloQ in tpvp coz of high reward. why do you think guild like GF get to farm high rank points because of pve heroes yoloing in Tpvp.

The competitive skill involved in GW2, sadly, comes nowhere close to other top competitive games.

It should be more of a casual arena for players of the game to go in and have fun with. No need to do e-kitten comparisons in GW2. Its a MMO that caters to a wide variety of audiences, and its focus isn’t solely PvP.

E-kitten comparisons are far more just in truly competitive games with huge cash prizes, such as League of Legends and Starcraft.

If it’s got a ladder, it’s competitive by way of evoking rivalry.

Solo Queue aims to interpret personal value as a dissociating factor based off match success, but success largely relies on the quality of teammates.

Players are rightfully free to participate, but it’s not fair on others to purposely play sub-optimally, e.g test builds.
