The sigil is not overpowered.. It’s a permanent 1 stack of torment that ticks for like, 80, at 1300 condition damage.
Not anything too far out there compared to things like Geomancy.

Giving a new source of condis to some builds is already a little silly. Condi engie can now start the fight with a nice 6 condi burst (with that nice, FREE, 7-8s burn buried deep in there) with a single hit. (For those ignorant, landing a freeze nade, for instance, gives you chilled, IP for burn, doom sigil for poison, torment sigil for torment, steel packed powder for vuln, and shrapnel or sharpshooter for bleed). The best part is, all those free procs CAN’T BE DODGED!!! HOORAY FOR COUNTERPLAY!!!
Tested it yesterday. I see in the battle log the tormant damage always twice. So two lines of tormant damage. Just a display bug or is the damage dealt twice?
its actually a constant 160 damage if the target is moving.. if they are not then they are a free kill for the team

You are right, the good ol’ “dodge everything” strat always works. Also gives that strong counterplay to those air/fire procs! :P

It still does less damage than both, especially Doom sigils. It’s basically a weaker Geomancy for people wanting two aoe condi sigils in 4v4/5v5 type zergs.
I see nothing wrong with it… other than the fact that full condi teams just got a big damage buff in zergs.
They kinda needed it, imo, but we’ll see.

I’d rather have 1 stack of torment than 3 stacks of bleed if you already have a source of bleeds and not really torment. Its a decent amount of dps, and a cover condi for your main dps source.
So what is the totally useless sigil with absolutely no effect to the current meta that everyone seems to be replacing with the sigil of Torment?

Exactly.
The only profession, I can see, which can benefit from it, is the survival-condition-ranger who already has high bleeding stacks and a long poison duration. Even tho playing against once of those is not really fun, they are not really played as often as f.e. cele ele/engi.

It’s a relatively weak sigil, but it fills in some nice holes. For example condi rangers have average condi application and pretty limited AoE, so it’s a nice fit there. Not sure if I’m going to use it over some other staples like geomancy, but it’s fun to play with.
If someone is going to condi spike you, 1 torment isn’t going to be what breaks you. Also condi removal is so, like, meta, yknow? /pops gum
