I do, it doesnt mean he isnt getting lazy or using a build that doesnt work. My favorite class is warrior and if i use a utility skills warrior and say im done with this game because the skills i like for my class are absolutely useless in pvp, what are you going to say to me?
If you look at the list he getting his with some normal attacks and we also dont know the dmg hes putting out or the cleansing hes trying to use in those moments. If OE came on here right now to say he full of it would we stop and say OE can say what ever he wants?
No you take each situation as its own and look at the facts given and make your assumption on what happened. This dude could be the best gw2 player ever but maybe hes just frustrated with the passive play style of dmg in the game. Him showing the dmg of attacks for *X k dmg doesnt help anything.

Yes the passive are annoying but…in a majority of those breakdowns it looks like you are being hit by multiple targets, so shouldn’t you die anyways?

the problem discussed in this topic would exist in all game-modes; not every discussion needs to be about arena. -.-°
and yepp, those random procs need to go:
- too random
- too bursty
- unavoidable
- heavily favouring certain builds/playstyles
- no skill needed

He never said that cele ele takes skill though. We all already know that cele ele and cele warr/engi takes no skill but at least you cant take 5k random damage every 5 seconds.
And with those procs it lowers the skill cap of other classes too like thief/necro/guard
If you asked me 1 year ago if thief takes skill I woulda said yes. But in the current state the vamp rune panic strike thief is really faceroll due to its OP damage with sigils and high survivability
Same with necro. Gets a full LF bar and then starts spamming 8k autoattacks with air/fire spinals shivers. Medi guard is also one of the easiest builds in the game, spamming random buttons that are mostly insta cast and then relying on passives procs to hit 6-8k damage in one second.
Zerker builds are actually catching up the celestial builds in terms of being easy and effective because of passives.

Anet pls buff Ele, Engi and War, cuz they to weak!!!!!!!!! We need more Stats on Cele AND Zerker nerf to the ground and remove fire,air. THX

The problem is.. the game is taking less and less skill in a sense that it is becoming more anti-fun than anything. That’s the whole root of the problem.
Like ANET is NOT doing a good job at attracting casual players either with how they are making the game more “available” for casuals.

lol, this game is stupid. Love how people think they are pro doing a stealth spike with a thief/mesmer too. Like its about 3 buttons. Its easier than anything else in the game. Even cele.
Not that cele warrior isnt brainless though. That needs nerfing too.

The fact that the biggest numbers shown in ur death breakdown just show the most common skills/conditions/procs in pvp
U get hit by 6 light strikes cuz u had a zerker ranger/zerker mesmer and a thief that hit you with 10 trick shots…
Even if u removed Air/Fire sigil, you would die to the most common name like Bleeding/Burning
stop defending something so obviously stupid. it doesn’t kitteng matter if op tanked a mirror blade or guard hammer #2, just open your eyes and look at the damage sources.

No doubt Sigils is what’s beating you.
It’s not the 3k Pry Bar that hit you once.
or the 2x Mighty Blow you failed to dodge… twice.
or that one 4k Rush you took to the face.
It’s those 5 or 7 procs of 900 damage that you took in 30 seconds, right?

Granted, he’s likely to get hit with a single Pry Bar, Hundred Blades or any other high damaging skill because no one’s Superman. He can’t dodge every skill in a zerg scenario lasting 30-40 seconds. But the fact remains; he still got hit with these skills.
The point is, those skills are dodgeable/cleansible while a 900 damage sigil isn’t. To be honest, these sigils should be removed from the damage screen as they’re not going to be reworked anytime soon. ArenaNet is understaffed and a rework would take too much development time. They’re not going to remove sigils completely as it’s a huge diversity option people like to have and ArenaNet likes diversity (i do too).
Yes, I agree that every aspect of this game should be “skill based” but lets face it, there’s going to be random procs in some form or fashion .
If they remove sigils, they’ll likely have to increase Berzerker damage by 300 dps to balance things. The damage would have to come from some where. Again, too much work.
Many people need to learn to accept that Air/Fire sigils is an expectancy when someone autos. It’s no more random than an auto attack from across the screen. If it hits you, it’s going to hurt. Because Zerkers.

Looking at the death breakdown, he did probably (while he was outnumbered) dodge a lot of heavy attacks. And he would’ve survived without all the passive procs.
And he probably did cleanse the burning, but its just so easily re-applied.
These death breakdowns show the “Top Skills”. As you can see, these are the skills that dealt the largest amount of damage. The lightning strikes + flame blasts don’t come out of nowhere.
So most of you guys are saying: “dodge the autoattacks aswell nub” (Which are not shown in the death breakdown, because they aren’t key skills anyone should dodge).
Blackjack after you farm some more money off of Anet you should just quit. It was the best decision I made in this game.

Procs are still lame. They should be what helps get kills, not what gets the kill.

Yeah, burn spam + fire + air sigils. Pretty much sums up the game.
That’s the thing with ALL passive procs in this game, not just sigils, but traits too. Unlike, say, swap sigils, where you can waste them by missing, proc sigils are also incredibly safe. They’re “unavoidable” bonus damage with absolutely no tell and can’t have their CDs wasted because they require the hit/crit to even work. Personally, I’m just sad they didn’t take more advantage of this trait rework and actually fix some of the procciness of the game and make traits a bit more interesting.

Give all the sigils/traits more VERY SPECIFIC activation requirements, so that a random fart doesn’t end up doing 10k. Alternatively, make the most used sigils give more SUSTAINED DAMAGE that is on-par with current damage with air/fire if you land your burst.
The level of sustain from other classes then can be balanced around the reasonable damage output (with telegraphs) from dps builds. As it is now, everything is balanced around a bunch of stupid procs that are frustrating, skill-less, and damaging to the game.

Cele is confirmed getting nerfed and in no way does being glass cannon need to always be compensated. It’s been the primary stat choice outside of the occasional condi or cele build. And they have more stats just like cele does over standard 3 stat ammies. If anything both need nerfed anyways, and if they were to do it, nerfing the passive procs would be the best way to handle it imo. Would rather that than keeping the procs and nerfing skillful things.
