Fall damage and rolling
although I highly doubt anyone uses the fall damage abilities on a regular basis anyways…
I personally don’t see a use for them. They do seem like they could stand to be replaced by something much more useful.
But the idea of rolling at the right time to reduce fall damage is a pretty good one imo.

I mean a lot of trouble to implement. I’d rather see something significant instead.
In the great scheme of things any improvement, if at all, by doing something like this would be minimal. I can think of 1001 things the devs would be better working on first.
That’ll make the take less fall damage trait useless.
In PvE and sPvP, I don’t use them. But in WvW, they’re awesome as hell. Or at least the Warrior’s Death from Above trait is awesome.
I’ve jump from the keep towards the enemy banging on the door and retreat back to the keep just to create a big explosion on the enemy over and over again.

Can’t say how difficult it is either way, it all depends on the game’s architecture.

Wow, crazy. I was thinking of the exact same thing a few minutes ago and wanted to post it.
There’s not just rolling.
If you SLIDE down a slope, you might get even more damage than if you just jump.
- Dodging right before hitting the ground should make the character break fall, roll, and take less damage.
- Sliding down a slope should increase the height at which you start taking damage.
- Rolling down a slope should combine both things, decreasing the height at which you take damage, and reducing the damage taken if dodging again before hitting the ground.
