Female Humans need more 'viable' hair options
Just wanted to throw that out there.
Lots of the hairstyles are…. I guess you could call them elegant but I find that good looking hair styles are really limited. I’d love to see more hair styles released in the future. This is also good for ANet’s business, as more people would be purchasing hair style coupons.
Please and thank you!
Isn’t “viable” a subjective opinion to begin with? Plus they already have more hair styles than most other characters with 23 option, other characters are around the 12-20 mark, male human get 24.
Don’t get me wrong, more is better, but it isn’t fair to say that there is no options because of personal opinions.

it is a personal opinion but it reflects a vast majority of the female human players’
most of the hair styles are…‘elegant’ i guess. if you’re making a class like a warrior, there’s little option outside of those elegant hair styles except really short hair
Female humans? What about more ‘viable’ hair options for female sylvari? Talk about a lack of style.

So you’re a strawman riding a bandwagon?
Nice to know.

Subjective opinion. But that’s not the real problem, subjectivity isn’t a negative thing by itself. However, in this case it implies something bad.
If ANet starts doing things just because the majority wants it, not only are they giving up their pride in their product, but they’re also giving the implication that there is nothing that cannot be changed if enough people argue for it.
Also, how do we define “majority”? Are we talking majority in relation to the whole population, meaning at least half of the people? Are we talking majority in relation to sizes of other groups?
Also, subjective opinions can contradict each other.
I’m sure Anet will be adding more customization options for every race at some point. It’d be a good way to entice people to buy those hair / makover kits.

Isn’t that more and not less desireable in a game that is played by a community? Would you rather play a game where you have say in what changes are made or rather play a game that is run by a heavy handed tyrant?
And the point of the matter is that this is simply the free market at work. Anet wants to sell you stuff and in order to sell you stuff they need to sell you something that you want so it is in their best interests, and indeed their design is centered around it, to tailor the game to appeal to your interests and desires.
Unless you want another game touting “artistic integrity” like Mass Effect 3. Your artistic integrity only matters insofar as the majority agrees with your vision. The moment your vision doesn’t agree then your integrity means nothing. You could say, “Well at least I still have my pride” but that doesn’t put bread in your belly.

It’s time for more customization across the board. From body shape, to hair, to clothes, to armor, to weapon skins, and everything in between Especially hair and armors….
I agree with you. I detest the way female humans were designed in general—they look like plastic dolls with anorexia and a badly-done set of false breasts. I had real trouble finding a hair style I liked for my guardian—nearly all of them are either long and unrealistic for a fighter, covered in fancy decorations, or styled like a modern teenager’s cut. None of them are fitting for a soldier in the reniassance and/or industrial era.
HOWEVER, I think Arenanet needs to focus on the OTHER races before they fix the humans. The Sylvari have hardly any hair choices to pick from (although they have a lot of choice in other areas), the asura have hardly any hair to pick from, and the poor charr are the worst of them all! The charr have too few hair, face, AND horn options.
‘So you’re a strawman riding a bandwagon?
Nice to know.’
If I voice the opinions of many of around me as well as mine, it’s ‘riding a bandwagon?’
‘If ANet starts doing things just because the majority wants it, not only are they giving up their pride in their product, but they’re also giving the implication that there is nothing that cannot be changed if enough people argue for it.’
What is this high schooler logic?
Why do you think companies take feedback from people? There SHOULDNT be anything that cannot be changed if enough people argue for it. Maybe one day you’ll grow up and face the real world, kiddo. If ANet has the same attitude as you in running their company, they would be bankrupt in a second. But there’s a reason why they have beta tests, and have a forum section called ‘suggestions,’ running a multi million dollar company, and you’re living pay check to pay check.

You assumed that “many people around you” means “majority”. That’s a strawman fallacy. You also assumed that being backed by majority means it’s right, which makes for a bandwagon.

I think of games as mediums for storytelling no different from books or movies. The creators should never bend in their vision because the fans say something different. Would you think it fair if Harry married Hermione because the fanbase would prefer that?

Check the box on ‘ad hominem’. Just because I am not a successful game designer with a multi million company under my belt doesn’t make me wrong. Then again, the same applies to you as well. Unless, of course, you do in fact own such a company.

Except a vast majority people DO want more hair styles, which is also reflected by those around me. There was no fallacy here.

You’re missing the point completely. How can you compare a plot driven book to a video game? Obviously a company like ArenaNet should take feedback to further grow and improve as a company. That’s why there’s a forum section called suggestions. Trolls like you are so offended by the fact that someone may even suggest that they’re not doing something right that you roam around the forum, trying to nit pick at wording. The thread is about giving feedback to ANet for the hair styles for the characters in game (specifically human female) right now and trolls like you try so hard to make the opinion sound like it’s not the majority’s opinion that it’s hilarious.

I never said it’s because you’re not a successful game designer that you’re wrong. You’re wrong because you make stupid points and argue with reasoning ability of a goldfish.

On what grounds do you say that? If you’re extrapolating from people you know, that’s a strawman. If you’re saying that even your friend tell you that their friends talk about wanting more hairstyles, that’ll be anecdotal evidence.

Look. I do generally agree that there needs to be more hairstyles. Heck, out of all the Human Male hairstyles, I only like about two, one of them ended up making my character look like Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean and the other is, for some reason, used by an alarming quantity of human male NPCs. Similarly, I found that pretty much all of the human male hairstyles with long hair have some pretty serious clippings with armor.
My point is that your justification for more hairstyles is flawed. It’s subjective or fallacious, so better leave it out.
While I like many of the styles available, there’s always room for more in any game
More Charr hairstyle please.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
More hairstyles for everyone:
What I’d like to see:
Human female- messy bun, simple pony tail.
Sylvari female –
Vine braids, bed of tiny flower for hair, mossy hair, spout like hair, mushroom cap Princess Leah buns, and a simple vine-like long flowing style.
I want more hair styles. I only use the short hair styles now because of all the awful clipping.
