I suggest separating racial skills from the elite skills. Revamp elite skills so that they synergize with a character’s build. For example, as an elementalist, I could choose an elite that would refresh all cantrips, or auras and give +boon duration, signets become AE effects when activated for 5 seconds w/ passives still active, etc (an elite skill for each trait line). The cooldown would have to be significant, 5/10 minutes and I would lock it so it would need a respec to change. It just seems that the current elite skill selection does nothing to enhance the type of character that I want to play (the elementalist isn’t a pet class, but the only viable choice is a pet?). The racial skills would be fun to use situationally, but no one kittens their toon by choosing them.
A new locked elite trait would be nice too. A player could choose any trait that they have unlocked. A stretch, but one can dream
