FA/EB/YAKS would probably be a very close matchup that would go the full week. Certainly the most competitive of the tiers if we end up in T4. And it would probably stay that way until Kaingeng and their one testement mongrel guild that is disturbing the ongoing competitive spirit in tiers barges in and makes a pointless week to fill their egos or whatever their problem is. I would love to be perpetually golem blitzed by a money guild all week.

It would be FA/Mag/YB. Mag is set to come up to T4 and they have new transfers too. In a Mag vs Kaineng fight, I’d definitely bet on Mag. They are putting out similar scores against tougher competition. I don’t think FA/Mag/YB will be an interesting fight though. All are NA servers and the match will be decided by off peak. Whoever has the advantage there will upgrade everything and the other two will stop showing up as much during NA primetime.

Honestly, I’d rather stay here. When YB dropped, I thought they would blowout Mag and EB while getting their fairweathers to come out to play as well as gain some transfers too. Then they’d bounce back to T3 and possibly outscore FA. This did not happen. They won comfortably at first, but now they are weaker than they were when they left this tier.

The fact that we can hang in there with IoJ shows we still deserve to be in this tier.

The guilds I listed were all from the registered history in the last 5 days. Some of those may have been on CD for a while but only registered last week for some reason (perhaps due to geting larger).

Why does no one on CD or IOJ ever roam?. Its impossible to find a 1 or 2-man to fight.

I am a CD’er, and I am also like to roam. But it depends on some factor, where and what for do I roam.

Also, I am a scaredy cat, and not a skilled pvp’er. Usually if it’s a 1v1 situation, I try to run if I don’t have the initiative.

I think it is pretty silly to believe that all tasks that need doing in WvW are better done by a large group of players. Solo and small groups respond faster, have more specific focused impact, are not worried about dying to do their task, better able to shadow/scout large forces, etc. Most of the people I see running supplies to repair gates and walls, keeping dolyaks guarded or cleared, suicide on siege, and the other host of small things that make up a successful WvW campaign, are small group players.

But the person I replied to didn’t say he wanted to do any of the things you mentioned, he’s just looking for 1v1’s and 2v2’s. And my second paragraph was all about small groups achieving smaller WvW goals. But a nice straw man you built there regardless.

It’s not just a numbers game, but how well the guilds on each server communicate across the entire battle map. Once, the members of RISE were holding out in CD East Keep against a far larger force. At the same time, on different borderlands, GoF and KH were conducting major offensives, but commanders in all three guilds made sure to relay information back and forth. When the inner gates at the keep in CD hit critical level, RISE put out the call. Immediately, GoF and KH put their own plans on hold and a combined force tp’ed into the home borderland. The inner gate fell right before we got there, but RISE managed to hold them off long enough for all three guilds to come together and wipe the enemy out.

The thing is, the above situation isn’t a one-off for our server. While GoF is distracting enemies at one gate, you might find TG using catas on the keep’s walls elsewhere. When LaZY is attacking an enemy garrison, there’s a good chance that KH is cutting off all supply to it while KõME is trebbing the walls. I’ve even seen instances when other guilds were invited to an ally’s TS channel during off hours to consolidate forces, where the host guild’s members were instructed to follow the orders of a guest commander like one of their own. That’s a lot of trust and respect right there. All the guilds in CD are autonomous, but we’ve been getting better at working together.

Hats off to CD for your inter-guild communication. I’m always impressed with the way you guys manage your presence in the different maps. I guess we still have a lot to learn in this aspect

If he pursued objectives he’d find plenty of fights against like-minded people. It sounds to me like he should hang out with the guys camping the jp. And I’m glad he’s on someone else’s server, although I’m sure we have our fair share of this type, as well.

But keep preaching, Niim. The more players you field that don’t chase objectives, the more lopsided the score will get. All this is really just clarifying the conversation about how realm population does not necessarily equal WvW population/success.

You need to register your guild on the site — just like the WvW rankings site, it works off of submissions. There’s currently no way for third party resources to pull up this type of data from the game database.

My tiny guild is one of the guilds registered on that site. It’s just a matter of finding someone who is willing to maintain the info for your guild.

HAX has been on CD since launch.

it was me who registered HAX last week on that site after learning about the site on GW2 forum.

we have around 100 player in the guild, although only around 15-20+ active each night. we mostly active in WvW during weekend…

It’s funny because as CD bounced around tiers we’ve come across quite a few different servers, and many of them have had this same attitude in which they’ve argued about how important small groups / roaming / solo fights, etc. are. Many have also talked about how little they care about the score, only play for fun, and then complained that CD out numbers them and labeled us a zerg server..

Those servers are all below us now. The only server I noticed who talks like CD does in the forums was TC. TC plays to win, cares about the score, and doesn’t spread a lot of man power all over the maps in small groups, but stays relatively organized with quick response times. TC was the only server we’ve faced that beat us often.

Granted the people who post on the forums don’t speak for everyone on the server, but it does seem you can get a general feel for how a server plays based on their forum representation.

Just wanted to put out there that there were great fights in the borderlands last night. I believe RET visited each BL and each time, found great opposition. Certainly, found huge crowds of CD just about everywhere. Although our numbers were not nearly as great, I think we put up a good fight. Fun times.

I think you’ll find that CD’s quick point lead is due to FA playing for second place ever since reset.

Maguuma is in place to move into tier 4 next week.

DragonBrand is VERY close to moving into tier 3.

If FA and IoJ manage to hold their ground until next week (remain in tier 3) then it’s possible the added competition of Maguuma vs. Dragonbrand may stunt DB’s progress enough to keep them in Tier 4.

Or… someone’s dropping to tier 4 to fight Maguuma and likely be stuck there due to the new contender.

Darnit… the heat is ON this week!

It’s very likely that Maguuma and possibly Yak’s Bend will gain points next week, while Dragonbrand will lose points. That’s specifically because of how the ranking system works in terms of servers switching tiers.

That can be prevented if Dragonbrand does extraordinarily well, but I somehow doubt that Maguuma (who I believe just got some transfers) is going to be giving up an easy win any time soon.

The good news is that no one is likely to drop this week. The bad news is that Dragonbrand is still on a tear. I’ll be watching with bated breath — make it exciting!

Oh wow. As of the most recent update (Tier 3: 1 hour ago; Tier 4: 35 mins ago), Dragonbrand is only 3.337 points behind Fort Aspenwood, and also only 3.849 points behind Isle of Janthir.

[TG] certainly appreciates that. I’m going to divulge some info – that was the first night we actually tried something like that and we ended up learning a lot in the process. I don’t know what your numbers were, but we had an epic time fighting you guys. Hope to see you guys in our BL more often.

The group up—and then swing around was duly noted and definitely showed the discipline in your group. We were about 13 players strong at that point, but I think we had 3 or 4 pugs following us around.

I wish I had filmed some of that, because despite the loss—it was a fantastic few fights

Uh oh. I have been trying to get my Warrior leveled but looks like I will need to get on my ranger tonight and grab some supply camps. We will need all the points we can get I see.

All servers have people in college. That’s not something unique to CD.

More likely the difference between this week and last week can be seen from the registered guild transfers.

LoM has been around forever. I’ve seen them around. pDyn, HAX… see my point?

Simple matter of fact is that we just came out of a holiday season. Participation has been bad for everyone. We also have been in close matches, which drives up participation (winning even more so).
And for those non-believers, we have held our own against TC often times, but in a 3 way fight we couldn’t hold 2 fronts when TC can just focus us. So it goes to show that we’ve always had a decent representation in WvW, but had inconsistent results.

PS. we did get a guild a few weeks back GoF. Decent size. Thanks for joining us.

I read that at first like FA 97k and IOJ 97k and got all worried for a moment, especially since I saw FA up by 5k points a few hours ago.

Guess that was a 91 :P If we lose you IOJ, I will miss you guys. Between the event I saw where [HEL] wiped CD outside of our Anz, and ran away waving, and being a good competitor – I’ve enjoyed seeing you guys around.

No matter what though, I just don’t want to be red next week.

There is one problem though. The current rating section is wrong. They used to update those whenever Anet released the actual ratings, but it seems they haven’t done that this time. So the projected ratings, even if the scores were as up-to-date as possible, would still be inaccurate.

Saw this on another post on this forum, which I thought I’d bring here and share with my favorite servers in all of GW2

We’ll introduce a system of prestige and advancement specifically designed for WvW. This will give players a progression path where they earn new WvW-only abilities and bonuses, and with them gain prestige and visible titles/recognition. Also, we’ll add a new motivation to the WvW domain that goes beyond the overall weekly score to give more short term reasons to be winning in WvW as well.

You’re right, the differences between the current ratings posted by Anet and those posted on mos are small, within 0.5 of a point for all 3 servers (IoJ, FA, DB) but with projected ratings as close as they are that half point can make all the difference..

Isn’t this exciting?

For myself I think the worst-case scenario would be if everything stayed exactly as it currently is. I’d really like to be a different color for a change, feels like we’ve been red forever now.

Going past 5 days FA has lost: ULTD (most have left GW2 entirely) and PTX (bandwagoned over to SoS).

Not super huge losses numbers wise, but there was a fair amount of skill lost with both.

Yeah i gotta say IOJ has been a joy to fight. No trolling, no attitude just plain fights between us, if u move down a tier you will be missed for sure!

Just got done playing for today. IoJ was not doing very well. They did not own a keep or tower in their own borderland. FA is almost 9k ahead of them now. As I got off, FA owned Bay, Garrison, and both of the north towers in IoJ BL, but it seems like CD will attempt to take the map soon.

IoJ is one of the unofficial Oceanic servers and should have a good Oceanic prescence. However Oceanic hours is my main play time and FA has been doing about the same as IoJ in these hours over the last two weeks.

I don’t know how much difference Oceanic is making at present. In previous weeks we had solid numbers and sometimes outnumbered during Oceanic timezone, but right now I am getting out manned buff every borderland I go to and I am from the Oceanic region and play during their prime time. We are still getting hit by 3x the number of CD players as we have in total and FA have slightly more numbers than us during my timezone from my experience.

I haven’t really noticed a drop in numbers from IoJ. Id expect a drop considering all the Zergs from CD we have faced and been outnumbered 3:1 constantly… since its frustrating to be beat on pure numbers. I think the whole outnumbered thing is really wierd, CD always had more numbers than us, but to see such a huge fluctuation is outright unusual. There seems to be nothing sound that would explain it, other than maybe organized server hopping.
