I hope there’s someone looking into where exactly these Omegas are coming from. It’s hard to imagine someone spending all day at the Forge making them to sell them that cheaply. I suspect something nefarious.

I believe the current consensus is there is a duping bug.

or some people are finding ways to convert their badges to silver – quite honestly…I’m not against it because we go through siege like water …..and getting all the new ascended items is insanely expensive – so I don’t see this as a bad thing, eventually they will run out of badges and I’m sure you will see it die down.

They are aware of it, there was a thread about it the day golems dropped to like 17s and a dev commented on it, its an duping bug. They removed the thread but im sure they are doing something about it.

Just a FYI, the last time this happened, no one I know that did 1k + got banned. They didn’t sell them though and anet likes to ban quick when you directly profit from it.

I have no idea how Areanet can find a solution to this. The only way how this will not absolutely destroy WvW matchups and the new seasons is if they dare deleting all these duped golems (= deleting probably 100.000s of golems) without punishing those who invested money into them without knowing these were duped golems
They could of course change the range to 900 so that omegas can be killed by players on the wall which would at least help a bit and for example reduce the HP of these golems so that golems don’t have that much of an impact. Change the missiles of the Omegas so that they can’t hit siege on walls and there might be a way to handle these hordes of golems. Also make arrowcarts hit the golems for 100% like they did before the damage nerf to siege.
Anyways they have to find a really fast way to fix this. They should even hotpatch it and not wait for the 15.10 patch. I’m pretty sure many ppl have stacked 1000s of these golems. That will destroy the WvW balance for many months

/edit: ah nice I just read that it seems they stopped the dupe. Now all that needs to be done is find a way to get rid of all these golems

You cant rollback it, imagine how many people would complain if they would loose weeks of progress.

Not much they can do. Once the economy is flooded it is flooded. Even after they fix it, whatever it is, it will take months ore more to even out.

It isn’t like they are going to start removing siege golems from people’s inventory.

Such an easy fix until they fix the duping would be to make it so you cant place Omegas on the trading post…

Its already temporalily fixed. You cannot put blueprints away anymore atm. You get content temporarily disabled message.

It is easy enough for ANET to look at who posted all those golems on the TP, send the posted prints back to them and then perma-ban them.

Just to talk some numbers here:

The Price was down to about 16s.
If you look at the Pricedropping an the speed and ammount of it, this indicates that several 10k Golems were sold. And this is a cautious estimate I believe we are talking several hundred thousend Golems and this would be a huge impact on WvW.

So yes I invested too in Golems when they dropped and will make a ton of Gold reselling them but anet has to delete them. Everything else would be stupid.

That’s because they manually removed the listings. It is 100% a dupe involving hundreds of thousands of golems. I’ve been watching this for days.

Anyway this thread will be deleted soon like the other.
