Dear FreshBrew,
It looks to me like you need to count to ten and take some anger management classes. I only see one person being disrespectful and acting like a toolbox in these forums, and that person is? Guess who. Everyone else is speaking to the other in a respectful, polite tone, why do you need to be so hostile? It’s a game, not RL…
Sincerely,
Me.
Yes, we have a strong Oceanic presence, also I would like to reiterate that the NA presence is building stronger as well. The coordination that I have seen on this world compared to the others is second to none. More often than not, I see several guilds… all from Borlis … attack EACH OTHER in the forums… makes no sense to me. I used to play on Borlis… so much drama, they were all so busy typing and arguing in game and on the forums, no wonder things aren’t being accomplished… No offense intended, I’m just calling it how I saw it.
I’d just like to point out to BP and DH that after last week’s demoralizing setback, I hear that many of our asians are taking a few days off. What does that mean for you? Work hard and you might find that some of your keeps still have waypoints when you wake up.
… no promises.
~ Kovu
You need no Asia players. The dolls will win the game for you since DH and BP can’t seem to figure out that they both should be fighting DB.
On reset in EB we left SM untouched in the beginning, we just let DH have it and went after DB. We had almost all of their side of EB and were holding them off but then what does wonderfully tactical DH does? Start attacking our side so we have to give up attacking DB and have to attack them.
DH could have hung back and upgraded all their things and armed it to the teeth but not, the geniuses wanted MOAH.
And then our own guys decide it was boring in our borderlands and go attack DH BL before they even got waypoints. So what happened? The pugs couldn’t handle a few invaders and started losing things there. Then off course we had to pull back from DB BL to help.
The strategy was to go for DB since they’re the real threat, but it seems only a few old wise men can actually figure that out and stick to it.
Good job DH and BP for being so horrible it makes me wanna quit the game.
DH and BP fighting on NA prime time = best thing ever for DB.
Even the flies have already figured that out. Why can’t our own guys get it?
cool Story, Bro.
DH had SM, BP was pounding it from Durios, BP was taking Pang, BP was taking Ogres … and you’re here, on the forums like acting like DH was defending ourselves for no apparent reason?
Then BP slipped into Speldon, Took Mendons, even stopped one of your small zergs at Veloka … and you’re complaining?
You need a reality check, instead of this historical Revisionism …
Also, I’d once again like to thank ANet for rendering all the awesome fights we had last night irrelevant due to their inability to provide a match-up where we won’t wake up in the morning and have all 4 maps Green because they believe Oceanic Game Time is more important than ours.
It sounds like you didn’t read my post very well OR you were not there during the first 4 hours of reset. When it reset, and for the next 4 hours, BP did not attack DH. It was only once we had to let go of the green keep that we attack you, since you deserved it for misbehaving.
But I have to admit the bad strategy is all on my part. I am excepting cooperation and strategy from a dying server. Instead, I should focus all my forces on DH and push them down as fast as possible and hope Devona moves up. I’m sure our T8 buddies will be a lot smarted about the matchup and, after all, DH has been crying for Anet to move them down for the past 3 weeks anyhow.
Also, DH isn’t Dying … that’s just nonsense the big guilds told themselves so they’d feel good about leaving.

Even just fighting them last time, I got the impression BP guilds are usually at odds with each other.
The unfortunate thing about our oceanic crew (that is, why they get attacked all the time) is that they really don’t have as much resistance as us NA prime timers do. Everything I’ve heard and seen regarding their actual play has been that they are GOOD. Even if DH and BP had larger oceanic contingents, DB would probably still own a large majority of the map each morning.
It may be comparatively easy for them to take a keep over NA prime time, but even with resistance I’m sure they could do it efficiently.
Borlis Pass is at odds lately. We all have fun but it seems that some have found deeper personal reasons to not coordinate with each other. It happens to everyone at one time or another. While we fight amongst ourselves, we will continue to fight around the world as well. You will find that, during certain periods of time, we are not taking the game as seriously as we were when we got here. We still have a bite, however.
Y’all keep posting updated scores. I’m still out of town for the holidays.
It is with great sadness that I want to announce that Win Everyday(WE) is moving from Darkhaven to Dragonbrand. We’ve been with Darkhaven since the release of the game(three of our commanders are among the first ten on the server), we have helped build up the server since the DHU alliance tore the heart out of Darkhaven’s WvW forces, we helped again after Darkhaven reached tier4 and was destroyed. But the situation for Darkhaven’s organic WvW scene is worse than ever before. After the DHU fiasco Darkhaven had RE, GoF, SE, HoT, HVN and WE ready to step in and rebuild.
Now? GoF is gone, SE is gone, HoT has more or less retired from WvW, HVN has folded, RE is leaving.
This would not be crippling for Darkhaven, if it had another group of guilds waiting in the wings to save the server. But it does not. I’ve watched closely, putting hours into WvW every single day since release. Guilds like Omen, DRoW, SoS all had potential to really aid Darkhaven’s WvW scene, but none have reached critical mass, and each has somewhat withdrawn from WvW.
WE have tried the alliance game. We’ve tried the server-community website. We’ve offered a public mumble to everyone on Darkhaven. There has been little to no response. We’ve coordinated and communicated with anyone and everyone on the server who are willing. And the vast bulk of the server doesn’t care. Their version of WvW is simple. Enter WvW and ask, “Where is the karma train?” If there is no karma train, leave WvW. Defend? Not a chance.
And we’re done trying. It isn’t worth it anymore. Darkhaven is a PVE server at heart. BURN, DHE, TRA and others all have hundreds of members, and have little to no desire to do WvW.
To that small band of loyal fighters(those who respond to defensive calls, and leave the karma train) we’re sorry to abandon you. Silverback, Skap, Togochubb, Lokii, Flint; Omen, DR, PD, EXE, PaK members, and a few others I’m sure I’m forgetting. We’re sorry. You guys all deserve so much better.
WE like working with you guys, and hope you’ll consider coming along to Dragonbrand.
Here ya go! Current scores.
Good to see there’s no bad blood from last time
It’s not really bad blood, except with the scheduling. But I will admit, reading that BP post about how we shouldn’t be defending our territory from them, did set me off a bit.
DH playing for another last place finish, well done! That’s all that’s gonna happen. If it was a deliberate team up or not is irrelevant. (Sure looked deliberate)

You have a choice and nobody can tell you it’s wrong, but leaving DH and coming to DB during the match will leave a bad taste in many peoples mouths.
Plok it’s obvious that you did not read Caliburne’s post. WE had been with DH from the very beginning and stuck it out through thick and thin. WE tried everything in their power to unite the server, but you can lead a horse to water but cannot make them drink. We respect all of those from DH that have fought, laughed and facepalmed side by side with us and hope that they consider possibly joining us. There comes a breaking point for everyone and many of us have reached ours. To call us “fair weather players” is a very unfair remark.
To those still on DH as I’ve said, we respect you and your decisions to stay on DH or go somewhere else since the server is dying. We just ask the you do the same and respect our decisions. We wish you nothing but the best in your future adventures.
Also just to add on to what caliburn said. I will not be leaving. I will be with darkhaven till I get tired of the game. Wish you the best of luck Caliburn been fun playing with you guys.

Enough nonsense about the ‘server dying’ … because GoF, WE and the others who used that as an excuse is what’s actually causing it to die.

As a recent transfer from Yak’s Bend, Dragonbrand is a well placed consideration… Everything I’ve seen from this server swims with success…
Welcome to Dragonbrand [WE] .
The NA folks are extremely friendly and helpful here! Moreso than I’ve seen on any other server that I have played on. The Oceanics I don’t really see because I’m sleeping or working while they are on, but the score does reflect that they pack a serious punch and I am happy that they are here! I have found my home here. It’s nice to run around with folks and not have to read bickering in map/team chats/forums!!
Agreed that it’s best to transfer between matches, or when we aren’t actually matched against one-another. In any case, DB welcomes you aboard. A few things to keep in mind though:
- At the moment DB does not have a unified community website.
- We have a huge PvE contingent, similar to DH. Getting people to defend instead of joining the “karma train” is difficult.. but they’re learning.
- We have an unlimited seat mumble server, but not everyone uses it. A lot of our coordination and communication happens through in-game chat and relies on commanders that are willing to work with each-other in that medium.
To Darkhaven:
Servers don’t die. New leaders will rise-up in due time and you will once again find exciting WvW matches. A similar thing happened to Dragonbrand a couple months ago and many people lost hope, but we’ve since bounced back from that.

Very good post, It’s 100% spot on.
We did not make this decision lightly, We have been deciding whether or not to leave for well over 3 weeks now. Nothing more needs to be said we made our minds up and moved on to a better community which has communication and has the qualities that Darkhaven does not have anymore. Which makes it much more enjoyable to us.

continue to spill nonsense but We got a C- you got an F, it’s okay work harder next time.

Me.Yes, we have a strong Oceanic presence, also I would like to reiterate that the NA presence is building stronger as well.
How many servers does this make for you?
To Darkhaven:

My understanding and opinion is the Oceanic guilds brought Dragonband back up. Without the Hardcore Asian guilds “TFV, TWIN, NNK” I doubt very much that Dragonbrand would of bounced back up from death as easily as it did.
Darkhaven will not be able to bounce back so easily as DB did. Oceanic time zones are the hardest to fill NA is the easiest.
My poor darkhaven. You have been hemprrhaging guilds since our great defeat agianst FA and even CD. First Icoa, who had come from nsp and absorbed a fair chunk of our wvw players. Next SE left us followed closely by GoF.
Now RE and WE have decided to part with you, and with them go the last 2 large wvw guild.
Do not despair! From the ashes of the large guilds the smaller ones have the chance to grow and try to lead. The matches wil get better, the time when we could compete agianst DB or EB is over but we will find a new tier where we can once agian have balanced matches, it will just take another week or two to fall.
Hey all. We just logged off after fighting with DB’s Asia-Pacific crew for the last few hours. We detached from the DH Borderlands group and gathered in DB’s BL, BP’s BL (which was generally all-green like ours), and Eternal Battlegrounds. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts and despite gathering all that we could to join us on this offensive, we simply could not fight DB’s Asia-Pacific crew conventionally. We put into motion all that we’ve learned from fighting Ehmry’s Asia-Pacific crew but the sheer numbers difference of DB’s Asia-Pacific crew renders all tactics void. Bar none, you guys have numbers beyond imagine that we cannot at all hope to match.
That being said, we’ll be switching strategies for the remainder of the week during our shift. We’ll continue to do battle with DB’s Asia-Pacific crew. Just that, we’ll no longer do it conventionally. Cheers mates and we are looking forward to a fun-filled adventure week with DB.
P.S. To any BP Soldier that fights at these grave times of all-green, know that at least at these times, we will not attack BP. You are free to attack us, but we will focus our efforts mainly on DB. Hopefully, we can switch the +600 DB +30 DH + 30 BP into something more equitable.
And here is a man who sees the problem and finds a way to deal with it, other than whine about night capping…. good show mate!

DB’s NA crew is fair. A little undermanned, but they did a fairly decent job during last week’s match.

Servers don’t die. New leaders will rise-up in due time and you will once again find exciting WvW matches. A similar thing happened to Dragonbrand a couple months ago and many people lost hope, but we’ve since bounced back from that.
Can’t really argue with that.. without our asian/oceanic contingent we would have fell all the way to tier 7 or 8. The fact is that we had lost over 1000 active NA WvW players to one mass SoS server transfer.
There was a severe loss of morale at that point in time, so our NA turnouts were terrible and I imagine a lot of our night crew wasn’t interested either. Our daytime squad has since grown more populous and competitive. The fact that we DO have a night crew is one of the main things that drives people to transfer here.
That said, there aren’t many servers below tier 3 that actually have a measurable oceanic/asian population, which means that Darkhaven is in the same position as many other worlds at this level.
Well said. You still have Acium who is a great commander as well as many others to continue leading you guys. Best of luck.
Enough nonsense about the ‘server dying’ … because GoF, WE and the others who used that as an excuse is what’s actually causing it to die.
continue to spill nonsense but We got a C- you got an F, it’s okay work harder next time.
Yay, elementary School grades. I suppose then its good that You C-Students are getting WE, now you’ll be a B- and I’ll still be an F, or something.
wth u spazzing? are you on crack?

You’re the one who started that Letter Grade stuff, you tell me.
I’m always willing to welcome new guilds to Dragonbrand, NA prime time is our weakest time and, luckily, the easiest time to fix.
I agree that our oceanic coverage saved the server from falling to like tier 7 before we stabilized, but as many have said, our NA crew is growing and coming back to wvw, we depend less and less on the oceanic crew every day. It won’t be long before we’re capable of the same level of coverage and effectiveness nearly 24/7 and that’s going to be a beautiful day for Dragonbrand.

Sincerely,
Me.Yes, we have a strong Oceanic presence, also I would like to reiterate that the NA presence is building stronger as well.
How many servers does this make for you?
Sincerely,Commander Plok The Original Leader of Shadow of Agony [GOAT]
Only 2 more than you. =) Let’s not make this personal – I left because of the drama, not because of GOAT. I hear you got rid of the drama within the guild, good for you guys! I also read somewhere that you were considering a change of scenery recently as well. Correct me if I’m wrong. Again, let’s not make this personal. Pot? Kettle?
I’d like to point out that, for a server that everyone is crying apocalypse about “dying”, Darkhaven is ahead of BP in potential points and very close to them in accumulated points.
They’ve obviously got some force left. I would encourage DHers not to be too demoralized, it’ll hurt your wvw experience more than a lack of organized guilds ever will.
Ouch…. =(
kitten this sucks. Sorry to see you guys go.
Couple points.
1) When RE leaves, the last DH guild fielding 20+ numbers routinely in WvW will be gone. Saying the WvW scene on Darkhaven is dead is silly, saying that the organized WvW scene is dead, is accurate.
Last night DH had a queue in DH bl, a queue of up to 15 minutes, a queue that lasted for several hours. DH was barely able to hold onto one keep for much of that time. And certain random DH commanders were exchanging our partially fortified keeps for freshly flipped towers, simply because that is where the karma and coin and experience were at.
I hope DH organically builds some new WvW guilds, but that process is going to take at least a month or two. Right up to the February patch, where everything is going to get shaken up.
2) WE have been scouting servers for about two weeks, and considering a move since before that. We talked to some of DB’s guilds last week, and it is only through the vagaries and oddness of the glicko rating system that DB somehow gained rating, yet still fell back to Tier5.
3) Why Dragonbrand? WE did not want to go to a tier we felt we had not earned, nor did we want to drop down to lower tiers. We know that Dragonbrand has its own history and flaws. We know it has no centralized alliance or website, and we know that the language barrier between us and the Taiwanese guilds will make combined operations trickier. And we know that as part of DB’s primetime force we will largely be outnumbered and on the defensive.
But we’re not afraid of those challenges.

The language barrier isn’t that much of an issue, don’t be worried about that.
There’s a lot of Asian in team chat during certain earlier hours of the day, but much of our Asian population can speak enough English to exchange basic wvw information, at least, as I’ve participated in their morning zergs on a few occasions now.
I’m going to miss DH
Wish the best of luck to DH!

I find these messages hilarious. I’m sure DH will be thankful for the Wishes of Luck from ALL the guilds that have left.

well, there are a couple of reasons for this thought process. firstly, the powers that be that have received message after message regarding the harassment of GOAT and done nothing about it, leave us almost no other alternative. This harassment we have tried to deal with through the proper channels, with nothing being done to our satisfaction. Another reason, and here I speak for myself, is that there is much immaturity on BP. Some Commanders on our server have a rock star attitude and if the spotlight isn’t on them, well then to hell with the server. Guilds like the real GOAT, KREW (mostly), DkZ, WaR, and others I cannot think of right now, we bust our bums to get our server to be where we are. These other fly-by-night players don’t organize with us, don’t listen to the commanders, and cost us most chances to make these last few match-ups competitive. Last reason is just respect. When we transferred 2 weeks after release to BP, we thought we had found a home. We dug in our heels, planted a seed and have watched it grow. Now, however, some people, and you KNOW who you are, still do not respect us for all GOAT has done for BP.
There is only so much that we can endure. If BP cannot change their ways, then our future endeavors might just be on a different server. The overall attitude of BP needs improvement, and it must happen very soon.
I’m going to miss DH

Well thanks braj
I’ve been with DH from the start, and I am sticking with it till the end. I am no commander, just 1 player that doesn’t want to ditch his home server.
I’ll be seeing you on the battlefield fellow Darkhaven warriors !
~Severein, DarkHaven
Welcome to the new Guilds to Dragonbrand, and good luck on the rebuild DH you were always a good fight and i hope to see you recover.
Bottom line: You can’t force a guild, or a person to play on a server they don’t or didn’t enjoy. They paid for the game, and they should be allowed to make their own decisions. Transfers are still free. If you are unhappy where you are, you should not feel obligated to stay… even after they do start charging.
I was unhappy on Northern Shiverpeaks and Borlis while in GOAT, I was even unhappier on Isle of Janthir with my GW1 friends. I am very happy on Dragonbrand with a bunch of people that I don’t know, and have chosen to put roots down here! I don’t feel that I should be ostracized for trying to find a place where I fit in.
I would personally really LIKE to see BP and DH band together and give us a good fight this week!
That DH zerg that came sweeping into our borderland about 12 hours ago sure gave me a minor heart attack. That is definitely a quiet time for us, and I really felt the pressure. I had to call in reinforcements and everything!

It’s a nice gesture, but the damage is done. And while that might balance out the rest of the week, it would just highlight the flaws with the current ranking system that fails to take into account the ahem …free server transfers ..
Those of us Diehard DH WvW’ers will venture into wvw anyway…but at least now we have nothing to lose! Except some repair bills, but, that’s the price we pay.
After the debacle in DH BL I have been debating switching as well even though it hurts me to say that. I got people in our Guild that don’t play WvW often that even realized last night the fight in DH is pretty much over.
Not once, not twice but three times within 4 hours we had bad Commanders down south in towers(as Cal pointed out) while the Garrison was being flipped or under heavy attack. I asked and PMed them to move their buts back north to help me and WE defend the garrison and north towers. I didn’t get one PM or even chat message on Map/Team on what they were doing in a tower down south against DB when it was BP that was hitting our garrison. This has been a reoccurring theme for the last few weeks. They don’t care about the priority of proprieties on maps they just want the reward for taking something. I don’t want to blame Seal the Deal because he was awesome guy but he did put bad habits into the pugs in DH. All they know how to do is get the easy karma. If your not watching the map 90% of the time as a commander your not helping to the goal of winning.
With that being said I am inviting people to join us in the switch with WE. It doesn’t matter where you play just that your playing with people who are like minded and want to be their with you. Playing WvW with players that only join for the badges and karma is aggravating. I am tried of playing with PvE people just playing WvW because they want something other then to PvP or win. Who cares where your “digital” home is just that you continue to play together. I also extend this to those who left before us if they read this. Come back lets play together it doesn’t matter where it is. Home is where your friends are not where it’s located. Trust me I just experienced this in real life when my home was mostly destroyed in hurricane Sandy.
I’ll be in DH for the next day or two finding the cool pugies that I love and get them to join me, EXE, or WE and stay together.
