I came back on your thread to see how GoM would react to having the number this time.

And people, stop saying Anvil Rock were saying we didn’t have the number. Last week we won the match because of numbers! NUMBERS! We had more then GoM, and ET had nobodies. We all said it.

2 random player from AR said we weren’t winning because of our number.2 random, that never posted before. Fair weather player prolly. Everyone else admited we won because of it.

But GoM kept bringing it back. I told you : Next week (well this week now) you’ll be in the same position as us.

GoM are a lot bigger then bot HoD and ET TOGHETER! Man their population on peak was on par with us, they just didn’t have constant population. Now we can add fair weather player, and they are a lot more then both other server.

And what I read on the first page? : GoM are winning because of superior tactics and planning. Stop dreaming up guys. It’s all about number. Servers population is too big a factor in WvW to count it out.

Even if ET and HoN had the bests tactics in the world, they lack the population. They will rebuild once they hit tier 8.

By the way GoM, I have nothing again you. You are a good server. But don’t play the “It’s not number it’s tactic!” card. It’s just arrogant.

Also, you’ll see on you come to tier 6. Those random Anvil Rock that thought we would won because we became so much better, are prolly PvEing right now. BP is kicking our bum.

When you win because of number, you tend to think you used better tactics. It’s just an illusion, as soon as you hit a more populated server, you get stomped again.

That was our guild meeting we had yesterday (See above for footage) – I’m not sure how some people think we were bots! I can assure you we were definitely not bots and we failed at syncing our dance more times than not! (Typing /dance * with the star gets you that synced dancing.) And our armour matches because all we did was take some Fiery Tonics and Ghostly Tonics! We were all on mumble/voicechat and having a good laugh about it and we were rushing around the place having some fun.

I’m pretty sure the masses who were going to leave, have left. It’s down to the brass tacks now man and those of us who are actively out there fighting have pretty high moral.

This is exactly how I see it. Those of us who are out there in HoD every night know what the deal is. I imagine the folks over at ET are in pretty much the same boat. We’ve known what the deal is for the past two months while we’ve been falling down the ladder. I doubt we’re shedding more at this point, those of us who are still here want a fight.

Second: Anyone who tells me we’re not losing the numbers game just has no clue what we’re walking out against every night. Even on our BL, except for at peak hours, they manage to have 2 large groups the size of our main force running around, while we try and usually successfully, play whack-a-mole on the towers and keeps we hold. That’s not tactics, that’s not strategy, that’s numbers. Player-for-Player we hold our own and then some.

Ive said it before – it is really inspiring how hard we fight and how high spirits remain among those of us who have chosen to remain on Henge of Denravi. We really have a team to be proud of.

To other posters – no one is claiming GoM – or anyone else – is cheating. We applaud them for their efforts.

However, as Valenna notes, numbers and coverage play the greatest role when it comes to the metascore. The few times this past weekend that HoD brought comparable numbers to a map (we have yet to have enough for all 4 maps), we did much more than our fair share of damage. That isnt a put down to any other server in any way – it is simply a testament to the strength and spirit of the small WvW force remaining on HoD.

Then why is your siege invulnerable and under the effect of determined? It makes it impossible to hold onto Cragtop for more than a matter of minutes.

Siege can be placed in the invulnerable area by throwing it from outside the no siege zone. However the invulnerable effect can only effect players, the siege is destroyable in all cases. All you need is to build a treb where we can’t instantly snipe it down.

What he encountered was a guild event that took place after a meeting. The way we achieved the same gear was something called a ghostly tonic.

The way we synchronized our dance was we all typed ‘/dance *’ and did a countdown in mumble or chat. We didn’t hack, but we are guilty of trolling (our own side).

I had hoped we could keep HoD out of the last tier but at this point we will need to recruit some WvW guilds from other servers to stay competitive in it

So Our fair weather players decided to show up this week. that’s a shame. now where going to jump a tier. winter’s day will come out, they all disappear, we get smashed and are back here in 2 weeks.

I think you chose only a few select posts in order to fit your agenda. If you were being intellectually honest, you would note that people are saying both are the cause of the scores, but MOST are saying its the numbers, mostly fair weather PvEers. Nice try!

GoM here. Yesterday I jumped briefly into WvW. I was amazed by the turn-out! Anyone who says it’s not a numbers thing is kidding themselves. BP said the same thing a few weeks back when they started jumping ahead. AR said it last week when they jumped up. Both servers were made fun of because of thier niavety…

Just wanted to clear up your incorrect statement about Anvil Rock. We fully acknowledged that we had a numbers advantage. I’m sure if you take the time to read through the match-up thread you will see that plenty of us made it clear we won that mach due to numbers.

Indeed. I made an incorrect generalization. I just wanted to head off the argument that GoM was going to claim it was all tactics. But I was unsuccessful at that, so it doesn’t really matter.

This has been done since the siege blocker was put in place, and done by every server I’ve seen HoD face, GoM included. It’s nothing new and if it was an exploit it would have been fixed or at the very least mentioned if it would take time, since people have talked about it before. All siege in that area is destroyable, and the area it’s possible in is about the distance of a single dodge roll from the border of the siege blocker. Now can we please get back to the polite bantering and compliments?

If you think it’s a exploit or cheat or whatsoever you wanna call it, just send in a report .
Seriously, I was not aware of this "exploit"until you guys bought this up .
Now a lot more knows and I guess it is going to become really “common” way to place siege .

By our tally as of 2AM EST here, the siege of DB in our borderlands will have been going on for approximately 10 hours. You guys have been giving us a good fight today. That’s the way we like it.

We have lifted the siege. Congrats to all the Henge people who were there today. You all did stellar, seriously.

We held on to DB? Awesome! I spent 2 1/2 hours there last night before I had to go to bed. Thanks for the badges, Galrath’s Boots, and the great fight, GoM. That was sooo much fun!

I was extremely proud of how well we were holding on against that sea of red. Well done, HoD defenders!

Nice fight GoM. You guys were pouring it on there for a while. Think the inner northern wall was @ less than 5% when we led a backdoor zerg in 2/3 of your trebs, then dropped a treb west of the garrison to take out the other one, and had a cleanup crew follow the last shot in. Then of course thr new build came out. May have been a blessing in disguise, but we’ll never know.

I just wanted to say that everyone that has been helping out with the EB push i’ve been leading these past 2 days are doing an awesome job We’re starting to look like we used too. I know I – and many others – were following him on Friday when we were making some impressive pushes in EB (and taking SM).

I actually caught a GoM group trying to exploit their way into Sunny tower, there was a thief inside of it alive and well but they ran the moment I caught them (10-15 per vers 1 thief so I’m sure I wasn’t so fearsome as to scare them off lol). Reported them for that it’s worth anyways.

Yup just my word. But wrong is just wrong. The people that were there knew it was wrong and they knew they were cheating. Its not about Screenshots every time its just about doing the right thing because its the right thing to do. Nothing but my word but that should be enough for those that participated.

Everyone – let’s leave the fingerpointing to the “report” function in the game. It has been an honorable week of fighting and it shouldnt be tainted by the actions of a few players (if it happened).

It has been a really fun week. I haven’t been in WvW as much as I would have liked, but when I was there, the fighting was intense, meaningful and – most importantly – enjoyable.

GoM earned their victory but everyone involved deserves some credit for a well fought match.

You HoD and ET folks are tough. It’s too bad the victory goes to the server with higher numbers and not the server with better skills and tactics. We at GoM have a lot to learn, and I suspect we’re going to be schooled next week in tier 6. Once we get down 10k, the fair-weather PvEers will be back to running FoTM.
