I just wanted to say thanks to that SF ranger that pulled me out of the tower wall last night (then killed me). I was stuck in that dern thing for about 15 minutes. I couldn’t port because I was considered “in battle” and didn’t really want to DC entirely because I was enjoying the SF vs Ferg action that was going on around all the catapults. It was kind of exhilirating to litterally be inches away from the enemy while we stood there face to face. I could almost see some of the perplexed looks on faces as I /danced and /waved. (Why isn’t there an emote for /PleasePutMeOutOfMyMisery?)

When I finally got “freed” by the SF ranger, it was on the interior side of the wall (it was theirs) and I was so shocked, I couldn’t even manage an appropriate defense. lol

I don’t know about the logistics of where you were trapped, but when we have people trapped in walls and doors, we find that a mesmer can sometimes drop a portal close enough you can click on it and get out.

I do not know if you were in a situation where this would have helped, but if it ever happens again, give it a try! Being stuck in walls is only fun for so long

For me this whole “agreement” between FC and ET is not working at all well. I think too few people are informed or just don’t care. Last night I just exited out spawn in EB and the whole map is almost all green. A group of 4 ET were roaming around taking camps and I bowed as they ran past. They paused, buffed and continued to beat the snot out of me so from my side the gloves are off again I’m afraid.

Well at least most of you can come to some sort of an arrangement. Sorry didn’t work out to well….But Team Sheen is always looking for recruits if you want to join a team that will help you grow.

Thanks for the offer, but I’ll stick with FC… until the very end (some of SF might know I’m always the last one in a tower doing one last bit of damage before the lights go out).
btw – I did run across a ET player in SF BL and bowed. He bowed back and we both went our merry ways. Uncomfortable as it was, I managed to not test my strength against a red number.

If somebody held a gun to my head and told me that I had to either transfer to SF or lose my left nut… I’m not going to sit here and say I’d choose the left nut. But what I’m going to say is that I’d definitely think about it for awhile.

I was in EB, oh, I dunno, maybe an hour ago now or so, and some ET guys were backcapping some Ferg points on ‘our’ side of the map whilst SF was working over the keep. We had to stomp you guys. Agreements or treaties or whatever bullkitten aside, I never feel good about stomping ET. It feels like hitting somebody I should be friends with because we both get pushed around by the same bully. Personally, I don’t engage ET unless they’re capping something we own or try to hit me first. Otherwise, it just seems like we’re doing what SF wants us to do.

Actually, I was hanging out with you guys when it happened and I’ve seen ya’ll previously rescue someone using this method. Unfortunately, battle conditions weren’t enough in our favor to use this method this time.

it’s always great fun running the “nights”, and it’s definitely good when we can push back the “sea of green” even if it’s only temporary. I dont experience to much “bad behaviour”from SF, short of venturing onto the forums where it seems to be bad behaviour from all sides. Sure we get out numbered a lot but that’s to be expected, and at times it helps give a sense of “achievement” if we succeed in pushing back, holding off or even beating back something we never expected to win against. SM was fun to capture and great fun to hold while we still did, and as usual it’s always a good fight against the ever present CoSA.

Just to clarify, I am laughing about the people post bragging about it after crying about night-capping. I am impressed that you guys took it, SM is a HARD nut to crack. Especially with all the siege we had in there.

I have nothing but respect for our ET and FC opponents that fight it out no matter what. And the ones that take advantage of our zerging to capture less-contested points. And for banging on the walls of the keeps to prevent us from re-spawning closer to where the fight is taking place. (Except the hacker kid who was keeping the SF keep, he was doing things to get away that no normal toon does)

Thanks I love contesting points, and I also love when you guys sned your 5 person groups just to gank me, that’s 5 less people out of the zerg. Btw, can you descripe “the hacker kid”; it might be me just using skills and you didn’t know.

Not sure, I never really saw the kid. I popped in from our BL and ran to the keep because someone was talking about it. All I saw was the red label doing some crazy long jumps from the water to get away from people. He was attacking the watergate apparently.

I know Big Pappi. He started Mid-January and I remember answering some of the questions he had about the game in Queensdale. A couple days ago, I helped him complete his personal story in Arah. I have no doubt he is still learning his profession, how WvW works and everything else people are learning even after they’ve leveled their first toon to 80. He’s a good guy in my book.

What I think is telling though is that we still have new players joining our server and willing to learn WvW. Based on your servers decreasing numbers, I can only assume that it’s not the case. Congrats on beating him though.

Is it a l2p issue? Yeah, probably. He’s been playing for about 3 weeks and just started playing wvw. But we have new people who are willing to give wvw a look.

we should totally start low lvl dueling since the actual wpvp is a little boring. Maybe arrange it for sunday on the plateau near mendon’s? have like a server tournament of lvl 30s and below with some prize money. It would make things more interesting and friendly imo.

In the process, they might want to enjoy a slice of humble pie in the process, if they are new to it, they should accept that, enjoy their defeats and their victories when they come, and leave their ego at the door when they walk into the borderlands, after all, just because you are winning, does not mean they are.

Anyway. this does remind me of last night. We were messing around in the Overlook, taking it back from SF, (like that is not an everyday event now days) and as we called people to come, I noticed that they were being followed, so I turned and held the line. I noticed that good deal of SF’s light troops (rogues and such) that were trying to drop our light troops as they came to the OL with supply, so I did an about face and waited for them to come. It seemed that in the face of a ready and waiting “guard” they opted that retreating was a viable tactic.

I could almost see the “Doh” look on their face as they paced some of our rangers and other light armored troops into the castle to see me waiting for them. It brought a warmness to my heart to see them stop dead in their tracks and move back a bit. of course this was biding time. but still, i was doing my job as a guard, and that was buying time for the rest of the troops to get supply so we could get siege built to take the OL back. Which we did. Good show everyone.

Anyway, the SF made a push, I had no idea how many it was going to take to take me down. but I could see how many they were going to use, and while I fought to my last, you overcame with a solid team of (well I counted 6, there may have been more) to my lone self.

Anyway, after another group came in and drove that small SF strike force back, they raised me and I enjoyed my loot bags. I thank you for the meager rewards I received just doing my job, and I hope that you too felt a sense of accomplished in getting your loot for overtaking me, after all, by my loot bag count, you lost 3 doing it.

No, we don’t. But there are some vets on our server have been corpse dancing as of late. And there are some on other servers who are corpse dancing as well. Unfortunately, some new players pick up the habits of those who they are playing with and playing against.

yup those ET guys were also on “our” side of the EB map when they took out the silver plate and handed my rear to me. They caught me a little by surprise, but I’m sure if there were any FCs around, we would have fought and stomped – even, as you say, we won’t really feel good about stomping a possible ally.

Speaking of allies… : I think the whole T8, ET/FC dilemma could possibly be solved with the introduction of official alliances. Say commanders of both teams can meet on neutral ground and each server pays 10gold (or whatever) for 1hr of alliance. During that time ET and FC can’t target each other or target each other’s property. But alliance/map chat would allow for a little combined effort to attack the stronger team. The team not in the alliance could even benefit from buffs during the alliance period for all I care. Any towers/keeps/castles/camps conquered by the alliance would then be turned to neutral status or terms could be decided when the alliance is first set up. So if the alliance would focus on 2 towers, then FC would claim one and ET the other.

Well I for one must say ma glad to see that you have people willing to step out in the field, it seems the fair weather you are having here in T8 against armies that are so mismatched that if we were to combine both ET & FC it would not quite equal half of what you field, Is treating you well.

No snark, but really, is anyone surprised?

I will say, tho, that the dead lock of this, is taking it’s toll on ET, even with the courage and rallying our of leadership, which last night showed that we could still make things happen as we moved to reclaim our map and in the process even stomped one of your Zerg balls, but then we ran across your main force, and got chewed apart.

It is no doubt, many on our side are frustrated with the failing system that keeps us locked together and I would like to say that it is not you guys, but, lets be real here, you do some cheesy stuff that for your size just makes you look bad as a people. in that regard, it just makes the fact that we are stuck with you even less enjoyable which in the end just makes a what is a bad situation even worse.

While, yes, I expect you to fight, I expect you to do your best to win ever encounter, there is a massive line between winning simply because you have out number us 6 – 1, and trebbing a way point with no need to do so. What do you really hope to win? Friends?

I realize that you did not pick this match up, but if, when you leave, do want us to watch you move up and say “good job” or do want us to point and laugh when you move up and get owned by a world because you did not work on tactics and most of your numbers are just sunshine-solders, which in the end will drop you right back down because all you built was bloat and not substance.

I would say, while you have the chance, you might want to focus on teaching your new and old, about fighting with grace, because, it would be so sad, to watch the same people who have posted here on the forums about how it’s just a game, and seem them post about how it’s not fair when SF moves up and gets stomped.

Not in anyway to be rude, but if you get out just to fall back down, you will never be able to win enough to live that down.

Honestly, to me this is a lot of crying for nothing. There was a time when SF was loosing terribly. I mean HORRIBLY to the point we didn’t want to log on. What did we do? We started communicating with other guilds in our area’s inside and outside of PvP to find others who had interest in making SF a GREAT server. We all had options to transfer out when it was low for us, and we decided we wouldn’t take the cheap way out and do that, we’d work for what we wanted.

I’ve seen MANY red zergs, numbers that outrank some of our zergs in the recent weeks. The problem I see isn’t lack of people on the defenders sides, it’s lack of communication, it’s lack of proper gear, and it’s lack of honestly in my opinion the will to succeed.

If you want to zerg then stick together. I see all these ET’s and FC’s in their zergs where numbers match ours a lot of the time, half of them charge the other half scatter. How are you going to accomplish anything if you don’t stick together?

Stop crying about free siege in the jumping puzzle. There are OTHER ways to get siege. If you don’t know how, use the wiki to figure it out. We aren’t going to “hand” over free siege. That is like giving a spoiled bratty child who isn’t getting their own way a cookie that they are crying over in the first place.

We don’t want to run in and take all your keeps and towers without a fight. That isn’t fun for us either. However I also hate to say that if we re-arranged the tiers that ET and FC are probably still going to get it handed to them any way.

Bad feelings begin to fester, accusations begin to fly, and it just gets more ugly as time goes on. WvW is supposed to be about battling an army of faceless opponents…with none of the petty bickering and personal nonsense that occurs in other types of PvP. The current ranking system is running directly counter to that goal, and ArenaNet should consider this along with all the other great arguments for change and suggestions that are being provided.

I don’t know why there is all the sudden this fixation with the /dance….Coming from the ET server to SF (thinking that SF was moving up from T8 only to find out I would be facing my former friends), I can honestly say there was a TON of dancing done on SF corpses from the ET side, and there is even more that goes on now.

In fact the more QQing that goes on in these forums about things, (/dance, corpse jumping, siegetrolling, etc) the more I see of it; from both sides. Meaning that if something bothers you in life I wouldnt broadcast it, because there are people that will take pleasure in irritating you about it.

Like I said earlier, I came over from ET, and I was one of the main ones downing SF players buying into the flawed logic that they were truly inferior to us but just had massive numbers and were all horrible people….I am here to tell you today that I have friends on both servers, and both are similar with good players, the biggest difference I can note is that people show up in WvW for SF. Now maybe that is because we are winning, if we move up and get rolled I look for the numbers to dwindle. But stop saying you are vastly outnumbered, maybe you are in participants, but not in population. And please don’t act like that only ET gets 5 vs 1 matchups when running through WvW…It happens to me all the time I run across 5+ ETs and Fergs and they always try to roll me…So it happens for everyone.

But seriously people, stop complaining about emoting, and lack of participation….We all know that on Fridays at reset there are no participation issues, the question you need to ask yourself (and one I constantly complained about during my time in ET) is where are all these people the other 6 days?

I don’t know what WvWvW you’re fighting in, but I don’t recall ever seeing a time in the last four or so weeks where a FC zerg had more numbers than a SF zerg. Now, I’m not talking about random 5 vs 10 fights or maybe even 15 vs 10 fights. Sure, those happen, and we may outnumber you in those random encounters. But the zerg-ball? The rolling SF tide of hate that has been ruling tier 8 for the past month? If you’re trying to convince us that Ferguson and Eradon are capable of fielding the same, well, sir. I’m not going to call you a liar, but I am going to request you share whatever hallucinogen that you’re eating ’cause it sounds amazing.

Whatever the case may be, it’s easy to cast assumptions on ’what’s wrong’ from the lofty perch of domination. Zergs breaking apart is a problem anywhere, it’s not just a FC/ET thing. I’ve seen half a SF zerg go one way and the other half another several times. Every server is guilty of that. We communicate just fine when in those increasingly more disperse times when we decide to hit back. Perhaps the only point you’re mostly correct on is the will to succeed, but that’s been stamped out by you and yours. So congratulations on that. Still, I don’t blame people for not investing time into a losing proposition. I still do, because I’m a glutton for punishment. But I understand those who are tapping out. Even I’m starting to heavily curb my gold spending on upgrades because it’s just not worth it in most cases. Touch the stove enough times and you eventually learn that it’s hot.

Despite all that, I don’t wish SF any ill will. I don’t emote silly things after a stomp, because in another time or another place, we could all be pals. Why not? I won’t be sad when you leave tier 8 in 10 years or so, but we’ll always share this special bond when you guys crushed the will of not just one but two servers. That’s something to cherish.

So I saw the post about the celebrities name thing and well I feel it should really be about our server name. We are Fergie’s and so should our celeb!

Wow Ferg’s what happened to you? Did you guys suddenly choose to be dbags? I’m visiting ET for a week and was doing EB JP and you guys love ganging up on ppl there even when they respectfully bow. Especially that Charr from the guild SIKE. I’m so dissapointed, respect has been lost for some of you.

What are you talking about, we have the same problem with people from SF and ET camping ever JP and ganking our players. Don’t make it seem like our server is the only one that does it.

I am not, I’m telling my personal experience with fergs who I bowed to several times and spoke with who just laughed and continued. I had no issues with SF while in JP they all bowed right back. I’m speaking personally and notice how I said SOME. My whole time in the puzzle all I saw was fergs ganging up on everyone there. So for this personal experience the only ones were fergs. I posted here because I know before we wanted to know ppl camping JP so our server could deal with it, so I did so to post about this guy from SIKE. I was so kitten far in the JP So I was pretty upset since I’m not very good at them lol and no one around to revive me. I know every server has ppl like this so please don’t think I am saying Fergs are the only ones. I have quite a few friends in FC and I’m not that type of person. Just speaking on my personal experience today. I’m not use to running into issues like this, personally had nothing but positive and respectful experiences in the JP, any other time. So this was a new experience for me, and I was just dissapointed. I apologize if it seemed that way, I suppose I should have elaborated in my first post more. So SORRYYYY <3

There was a post from when we first came to this server so not sure why you feel as we should wave turn our backs and then get knocked off the cliff from behind. You guys taught us not be friendly in there with this type of behavior.

And be truthful guys your servers have had a lot of infighting and guilds not working together in WvW…and blaming us for having numbers is getting a little old and silly. The truth of the matter is you have been bleeding members long before we came into the picture.

Well, I don’t consider you a traitor, or anything, just want to put that out. At the same time it would be foolish of me to even think you were alone in doing this.

Which means, as we all suspected, that SF did get an influx of players, and this also shows that we took a hit to our population at the same time.

As for the Skill level, well, Luckyshot has pointed out that you have quite a few sunshine-soldiers hitting the field, drawn out by the fair weather you are having.

Which means, like it or not, SF has a bunch of noobs hitting the landscape, which, well, results in you looking like.. well. a huge bunch of noobs hitting the landscape.

At the same time. it’s no question that our numbers are dwindling, even among our vets that just don’t see the point any more, so the few that remain are the die-hard.

Not really a great way to ‘gauge skill’ if you ask me.

You don’t want to hurt yourself dancing, make sure you stretch out those cream hamstrings. =) JK

Anyway guys lets just go in and have fun, and try to work together with each other, that is all I can add to this.

Also imo it is far worst that all the passive aggressive people will come into the forums and post their victories over someone with a screen shot to publicly humiliate them than to dance on a corpse. (and try to make it seem like they are being friendly)
You make not like some off the stuff I posted on here before….but i did it for a reason and please look at the stuff you guys post and don’t get so hurt when people try to give it back to you.

What are you talking about, we have the same problem with people from SF and ET camping ever JP and ganking our players. Don’t make it seem like our server is the only one that does it.

I am not, I’m telling my personal experience with fergs who I bowed to several times and spoke with who just laughed and continued. I had no issues with SF while in JP they all bowed right back. I’m speaking personally and notice how I said SOME. My whole time in the puzzle all I saw was fergs ganging up on everyone there. So for this personal experience the only ones were fergs. Sorry i just copied the post…didn’t mean to offend you just wanted people to see what was happening even before we came on the scene. I didn’t add your name to anything just you happened to post about this and wanted people to see the issue is nothing new.

And my server only has drama when one guild (not mentioning name) comes in and starts bashing everyone, they don’t wvw much anymore so its not a problem.The bleeding you perceive is wrong though, outside of the guilds we left, we’re not loosing anyone else, we had xmas boomhow people have mentioned. Even with guilds lost, theres more people now then then. Point of the matter being no one shows up anymore. Your server DOES have a greater population then us, and its destroyed moral.

While we were denying a population boom back in early January (which was the case back then), nobody is denying that we got an influx of players anymore. We’re most certainly seeing far more folks in WvW now. We got some transfers just before server transfers ended. And we’re seeing more fair weather players coming back. And more PvEers dabbling in WvW. Which of these reasons is the primary reason for our population boom (if any one is actually the main cause), however, has been the source of much debate.

Well yeah since I’m not from your server I really don’t know what i am talking about, just going by hearsay and previous forum posts. We do have larger server numbers but when we see fights like we do on fridays it can get to us too, when we don’t experience them during the week. They need to fix the issue soon and I believe the whole resetting of the servers was a bad plan hopefully they will do something realistic about it soon.

I have a new favorite thing to do.

Stand there and /laugh while letting a vengeanced upscaled GS warrior hit me without fighting back.

Turn into a dolyak and continue on my way to a supply camp when they die from vengeance expiring and I still have >75% health.

Not a good fight, so no bowing necessary. No corpse dancing necessary because 100b doing 10% of my health is already shameful enough without me having to do anything.

Not really much debate, because the first week January, during your introduction to T8, FC beat you , and in week 2 you took 1st by what could called a close margin.

Come Week 3, and SF started to pull ahead and then week 4 (End of Free Transfers) SF exploded, simply crushing T8.

So, We can very safely conclude at this point, it was a influx of players that is the reason you are winning. If they came from Transfers or Sunshine-Soldiers that went into hiding when you were losing, and then came crawling out of wood work when they discovered they got to be a bully.

Your call on how you want that to be taken. Can’t say I care, but if it is the latter and not the former, they are just going to turn tail when the fighting gets rough again.

But only you know the source of your numbers, I being in ET simply see the result of them.

Not really sure if you read what Manoa said but s/he has been one of your biggest supporters while I went on my little tirades. Nothing was said right there that was argumentative but that is the passive aggressive stuff that has been posted ever since we first started winning has kept me going.

Also, I’m not a supporter of any particular individual (or any particular server, except my own of course ). Just a fan of treating people fairly, keeping these server match threads clean, and saving the fighting for the battlefield. That’s all.

And FilthyRat is correct, the intent of my post was not to be argumentative. Just pointing out my observations from this side of the match, nothing more. If you’re trying to get me riled up to try to hook me into some forum PvP, nice try. Maybe another time.

Does anyone recall SF complaining that much when we got our butts handed to us? I mean, we complained to ourselves that our server was/is a mainly PvE server, so events like Halloween or wintersday had a huge impact on our numbers in WvWvW. That is not the other 2 servers fault, that is not anyone else fault, is just that we cannot get a good pve community without sacrificing some wvw or pvp. But we never complained about the other team zerging us, or dancing on us, or camping the JP. We just took it and called for more help, the people who used to do pve now does wvw, and they help a lot, like someone said, they are new, we are trying to train them the little stuff we know, how is that something to be embarrassed, we have new guys, so what? people come and goes, if you are too strict with the people joining or you keep a negative aura, of course that is the last you will see of them.
