Server pairing for the lower tiers has been a mixed bag of jelly beans since it began, though mostly it was fair enough on the level of the servers competing but this week for lower tier servers its been very VERY lopsided.

Full disclosure; from Ehmry Bay server, i am complaining about this.

In previous weeks Ehmry has been reasonably stable and the matches have been 2v2v2, in the time spent in WvW there have been expected wins and losses but it always felt like it was due to the competency of the commander and the skill of the zerg, thus praise to them when we win and blame to them when we lose. and Hinge of Denravi proved to be able bodied and skilled partners.

This week though the teams are completely out of proportion.

as of right now; with (server population)
Green team: DarkHaven(high) + Ehmry Bay(high) = 263,575
Blue team: Sorrow’s Furnace(high) + Gate of Madness(high) + Ferguson’s crossing(medium) = 320,611
Red team : Crystal Desert(high) + Borlis Pass(medium) + Kaineng(medium) + Eredon Terrace(Medium) = 454,705

DarkHaven and been almost non-existant in WvW from what i have witnessed. how is matching 2 v 3 v 4 suppose to be fair or balanced? every attempt to make a zerg gets crushed by literally twice the numbers, and this happened so often that players literally abandoned WvW until this is changed.

What am i missing here? Why was my home server set up to be completely rickrolled this week? Changing the scoring systum does literally nothing when your server spends 168 hours with the outnumbered buff.

There are several questionable issues on this matchup…

Servers like Eredon Terrace and Kaineng received a influx of guilds that wanted a “free” pass to T1 during the last linking. They are not the same servers that they were during the first linking.

Darkhaven been bleeding guilds during the last pairing. At least 4 WvW guilds (CCS, zAp, Myth and LXG) left the server during that time. To not mention the fairweather heavy population that haven’t been showing since the first week Darkhaven started facing Maguuma even before the server linkings. The “High” status on Darkhaven is questionable, and as seen in WvW right now, it’s clear that EBay is far larger than us atm.

Even if DH+EBay were both high for real, how would it be fair facing another double High with a third medium (SF+FC+GoM)? And I’m not even going into the quadserver fiasco…

We’ll see what gonna happen this reset. But if the quadserver remain on T4, DH+EBay will have to stick up with that for 2 months, because I don’t think CD will break the glicko wall to T3 before that.

HoD/Ebay won like every week,
Ebay got stuck with DH who lost every week.

Nobody likes losing, it happens regardless of “server balance”.

This matchup would be pretty great if it was 3v3v3. Would it not?

Let’s be honest, for all of the issues Darkhaven may be facing, the crux of this matchup is the fact that EBay and DH are the only dual server here.

DH has flickered down to Medium mid week, then back to High.

I think it must have been an error in the linkage process but anet have refused to say anything about it.

They need to fix glicko. Went on vacation for a week looking forward to not having that 4 server monstrosity in the matchup when I got back. Figured I’d log in this morning only to see a green world. I found something else to do.

I don’t consider myself a fair weather by any stretch. Many times I’ll take whatever terrible odds I get just for a fight. Always back capping your stuff against blobs of 5 to 10 times your numbers will burn you out though.

I’m hoping it’s better than my first impressions. Was looking forward to some fights this week.

its not pvp anet could care less about wvw. first we get desert borderlands which sucked now they kitten up the matching system its so sad…
