It is what always happens. When I first heard we were going up against Maguuma again, I told my guildies that we would be seeing the “we never die!” card being thrown out again. Sure enough, there it is.

Why don’t you guys stop trolling the forums and try playing the game for once, you might actually have fun.

Until then I am going to keep RP’ing. I like collecting badges while dressing up like a pretty pirate.

No way! Maguuma is in the same situation and you guessed that we would react the same way?! Please teach me, sensei! . It’s not hard to guess how forums warriors are gonna act, just as how we know how TC and CD acts. Nothing changes. If you’re tired of it, go have fun.

But the fact that you’ve been trolling as well kind of makes you seem like you should be practicing what you preach.

We would like to have fun, but you guys refuse to fight back. This week is quite boring. We actually had to stop raid night to go do guild bounties because nobody else would come out and fight. I think you guys are too worried about losing. On TC we were getting zerg stomped for weeks (yes, some servers have more people than us) and yet we never stopped fighting back, and we always had people trying to take and hold what we have. It seems like you guys just give up.

You’d be surprised what you can accomplish by not giving up right away.

You are right though. There are a lot of situations on TC where people are afraid to fight in the open. But the thing is, I don’t think my fellow server mates want to win in T2 – they just want to have fun. That is why we moved to TC – because we might lose a lot, but the main focus of this server is still to have fun. We could have bandwagoned to BG or SoS a long time ago, but we stayed on CD until a few people on TC finally convinced us to switch over and start having fun.

So we have a few guilds who are really coordinated and great at PVP, while our militia (numbers) will keep playing and having fun. I don’t see it as a bad thing. None of us want to be a superserver, because those superservers are toxic.

Why differentiate at all? A 30 man of Maguuma players is just as good as a 30 man of any organized guild we have on the server, I think.

There’s a difference, see on TC even if you are losing, you still have a large amount of people around. On maguuma, there is hardly anyone around when it’s a loss like this – only really the diehard players come out. Yesterday when I went to EB, there was only 7 of us on the entire map, do you expect us to do anything worthwhile with those numbers?
We’re TRYING but when it’s a turnout like this, there isn’t much we can do.

“Not giving up” means making large zergballs and shooting a keep with siege for 3 hours. This is another disconnect between what two servers enjoy. Score is meaningless, fights are what matters. TC is terrible at giving fights because of their waves of bodies.

Most of the enjoyment has come from the fight clubs that are running most of the time. I was surprised to see ONI on TC, they are very nice/fun guys to duel from IoJ.

Glad to see this thread shaped up while I was in the 24-hour post queue.

I’d love to have some PYRO vs KH open field. FA and KA (the not WM part) trained our butts hard. Yesterday in EB, we were gifted a zerg by ME that CMD Rekka put together and used it to face smash some open fields. Then, in typical Mag fashion, went to eat and fell apart. 100+ badges though. Thank you TC and CD (sorry for the keep/tower CD someone said Grub and it just sorta accidentally… you know.)

Assuming that Maguuma’s lack of winning has any possible effect on how much we post is hilarious considering we’ve lost the majority of the time this game has been alive. Not a joke.

Crossing fingers that SoS’s combustion enables a YB/DB/Mag match-up. YB is pretty fair weather, possibly more so than Mag, but fighting Mag might bring the morale back to them.

You are right though. There are a lot of situations on TC where people are afraid to fight in the open. I’m glad to hear that about you not wanting to be superserver, because I agree. However, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with trying to help your server improve on the open field. You can’t rely on “militia” forever, if they’re untrained. No one likes getting wiped over and over again, even if the score is like this.

TC survived in T2 and garnered the respect of BG, SoR, KA, SBI , guilds and other guilds from the T1 bracket in game and on the forums. We are proud to have been able to be so competitive and create friends from other servers. That is already something great that we’ve accomplished. We all need to improve, we know where we need to improve, and we’ll improve on it. But the thing is, do we really need to go all super try hard trying to improve and lose ourselves in that? We’d rather have fun and improve along our own pace which may be a faster improvement or a slower one, who knows.

We are proud to have been able to be so competitive and create friends from other servers. That is already something great that we’ve accomplished. We don’t treat any of ours like second class citizens, either. Or generally speaking, most don’t or try not to. I guess you could say it’s more of an organizational tool? A lot of the militia that don’t focus exclusively on home borderlands defense will usually tag along for some given guild’s event night, to the point that they become recognized faces or pseudo-members.

Their experience may vary wildly, but everyone can contribute and is welcome to do so.

Looking back at T3 now, I realize how much more civil T2 is. ._. But anyways, keep fighting the good fight guys, and have fun!

I can also appreciate how my offbeat attempt at comedy as I ventured into this thread may have been misconstrued. We were so used to doing it as the underdogs in Tier 2, that it kind of became a fun and silly way to relieve some burn out and stress .. plus make some friends along the way.

While I don’t think we’ll ever hit the level of friendship we had in our recent T2 matchup thread, I am still hoping we can at least muster up a bit of respect for each other.

I don’t even know where the Don’t Give Up stuff is coming from. I logged in right now at prime time sunday… and this is our usual prime time sunday numbers. We are just having to put every single body into one map to get anything against the waves of TC sitting in 100% BL’s.

TC has easily 2-3x our active WvW pop every day, and when you’re combining that with a massive defender’s advantage, +100 ppt is totally normal.

It’s hard to be the funny pal when you have 60 people inside of their battleground basically camping their spawn. That’s just no fun for anyone.

As for finding the “fun fights”, it’s hard to find the fun fights because it means you have to wade through the less fun ones for a few hours. Most of the organized guilds are not WvW’ing this week because it really is not fun to sit outside of the enemy spawn with a 30 man guild group – it’s a pretty mean thing to do. So while you guys could have organized open field combat going on, we are all just trying to lag our way through Jormag because our last WvW experience was not worth staying for.

In the end it’s all a population issue. Every server has their organized guilds that are good at pvp, and they have their pug groups. The dynamic is usually the same – just in different proportions.

It’s coming from our time in T2 and pretty much our entire WvW history. Just because we’re in first place doesn’t mean their accomplishments are invalid, nor has anyone said your militia is bad.

When it comes down to it, neither side is going to be satisfied. Everyone keeps talking about how ‘oh I just wiped the floor with X and Y’ and I can respond in turn easily, but it serves no purpose because:

A. Organized guilds that aren’t just out of their primetime/taking a week off can’t get their guild together on a map if their life depended on it.

B. Every map is jam-packed full of PvErs seeking map completion, Fairweather Greens and equally green Commanders, causing the matchup to boil down to ‘Massive Zerg vs. Defenders’ on most maps.

C. Even if (A) could occur, the Defenders would probably deploy subpar numbers due to morale.

In short, it’s basically a crummy situation for either side that cares.

If you or Paralda wants to organize a dueling/fight club later tonight for fun (!) you’ll probably have people show up, though I don’t know if the usual etiquette between our two servers is the same.

Not in our opinion, but anyhow, its just not worth talking about anymore. We will be on the field, where you should be. If your players actually showed up.

on magg even during prime time in our biggest zergs you are lucky if you see 3 people from the same guild. random 5 man guilds log in to wvw and look for commander symbols or orange x and that is how we wvw. the fact that we win any fight vs any organized servers with pvp guilds is almost embarrasing for them.

magummas biggest downfall is our guys cant get off the forums talking crap so we usually have the other 2 servers team up vs us to prove our trolls wrong. gg

Considering how we complained when SoR did it to us, we should be discouraging spawn camping within TC. People can rationalize it as a “viable strategy” all they want, but it’s still in poor taste.

While I’m glad that we are Green so that many of our native Toasters could finally achieve map completion, that has come at a price. I for one am annoyed by the increased queue times and the fairweather WvWers. I want to play with the ones from the past month or so in T2, with whom I faced SoR, BG, KG, and FA.

You garnered the respect of all the servers who spam recruited (ie relied on numbers and coverage to win. not skill.)

As soon as the bandwagoning people who need to be #1 leave those servers those servers fall further than Ebay/YB/Mag down the chain. Why? Because they (those who aren’t riding the coattails of others) cannot handle balanced combat or fighting superior numbers. Or those servers never had anything more than bandwagoners for their WvW population.

I partially attribute our failure in Mag BL earlier today to my lack of experience in commanding without any ground to stand on. I really didn’t have much of an idea what to do with the 20 people I had against the 40+ people TC roaming around in a tight group. They were organized, I get that. But kitten did I have little choice but to Karma train to pull them away from the north and be forced to use those stupid breakouts.

Too bad since last patch Ive been lagging so bad ingame I cant even use autoattack let alone ANY skills. Doubt it will get fixed cause I loved the amount of killing we were doing reset night. Now Im gonna miss out on so much killing unless Anet fixes it. If you guys think forum trash talk is bad now… my story adventures would make you cry endlessly.

Maguuma is failing because people are on the forums and not in WvW. I love this game.

Our second problem is people are under the illusion that maguuma is more skilled then other servers.

My experience with this server is while their is some skilled players most people are below average. The average Maguuman is afraid to fight the enemy and will often run away or not even engage them, especially when fighting skilled enemies.

There really isn’t any guild besides [OG] that I would feel safe placing my confidence in for being able to fend for themselves. The individual skill of the other guilds on Maguuma is extremely lacking.

No. What happens is the trolls get under some folks skin and it winds up making their entire server a target. Given a choice of targeting a friendly server or targeting one that has people saying nasty things, it follows the latter would be more appealing. It’s human nature.

What happens on the forums does indeed translate in game.

I know a few of our folks were quite motivated after reading some of the posts in this thread, but perhaps that’s the point of the trolling — to get the fights going after them. There’s one fellow on (not to be named T1 server) that does this deliberately because he wants an entire server coming after his guild. He thinks it makes the fights better. That’s his prerogative, as it is anyone’s choice. But it winds up making the whole server deal with the fallout.

You’re missing the context here that Bunzy was one of the trash talking trolls against other servers for a long time until we made fun of him enough that he started hating our server and started trash talking us instead. I for one do not care about any 2v1 in terms of servers, and even if it was just TC focusing on us the player ratio basically is 2v1 anyway.

I have suspected since one of our first matches with Maguuma that their forum trolling (Particularly the OG squabblers) is very deliberate and thought out, and for a very similar purpose as to what you’re talking about.

It helps to change your mentality regarding their trolls though.
I, for one, just started to think of them as a joke instead of an annoyance. Maguuma forum warriors have been a lot more entertaining since then.

I’d like to believe those posts are a masterful troll and all the spelling/grammar mistakes are part of it, but after talking to him in game and seeing him dying repeatedly, I just can’t.
