No, it wasn’t a repel of any kind…it went on for over an hour. That one blue tower was b/c we started the event for it. As you can imagine, it was soon zerged and gone.

Forum troll is everywhere. Actually I don’t care about how others feeling about us. But of course I have little bit surprise DR is whining about anything on SBI, zergest, spawn camping, lack of skill, etc. It is true that most of the time our population on the field is greater than you, so we could destroy and capture anything you got, on EB or even on your own BL, so is that anything wrong? we have fun to kill every single of you, are you mad bros? prove us you have strength to counter us on the battlefield, not just like a kid keep complaining on the forum.

We got tons of siege from EB JP, you know EB JP is 100% safe because we hold all tower/keeps in EB most of the time, and I could do JP everyday with my 5 characters and get lots of siege from the chest LOL. wasting one treb mean nothing to us. At least our treb already destroy your treb on that tower, and achieve what we want.

Sometime around 8pm-9pm server time and/or maybe even one during “Euro” hours between 11am-1pm server time?

Played on DR for a week against IoJ/SBI. SBI is very similar in pop to CD/Ehmry Bay, and you guys worked us over, so one can assume it will likely happen to SBI

Yes, SBI has actually defended our side of EB unlike yours. The result was that we captured your entire side of EB before getting VK back.

But yeah GJ PvDing. We had a ton of fun PvD’ing earlier today. Had something like 350 PPT. I don’t understand how SBI likes to do it every day though, it does get tiresome.

If thats true how come we hardly ever see SBI in numbers around 5? The few times we do see it are people running straight towards a friendly zerg.

You seeing alot of something during certain hours doesnt make it true for the whole server… I have had a few good fights against you guys (AD, BTSY, NOQQ) We have plenty of roaming parties around and for you to say thats not the case it just might be during the times you play. Yeah, I’ve noticed smaller groups roaming with 10 or less and you can’t help it when you get tag-a-longs in the current enviroment with fairweather players (on both sides) causing an issue.

With SBI, I’d say roughly 15% of our open field fights are against an outnumbered opponent, 15% against relatively equal numbers, and the rest we are outnumbered. Of course, I have bias but that’s my honest impression.

SBI also seems to have some organized groups that run with mixed tags (like us)? I’m just guessing because some of the mixed tag groups we’ve run across seem more organized than a regular mixed tag PuG group.

It is completely unnecessary, and worsens the experience for both the other servers and your own. I’m not calling anyone specific out, but you all know who you are.

Last night I led the EB force for some good times, and before I left with my group to go to IoJ’s BL, we had painted the whole of EB green. While at IoJ’s BL, we encountered a large group of DR which had no uplevels and all of which played together exceedingly well. We also kept harassing IoJ’s garrison just for our own personal edification; we almost had it! You guys had it well defended and well sieged, though, so I ended up pulling out to focus my attention elsewhere. The last thing I did for the night was to take Bay back from DR with the talented DR zerg defending it. I had to talk so much to my group to keep them from overextending and rallying you guys, it was intense. Eventually, we kept your group distracted for long enough to push into the lord’s room. Then, in a final battle the likes of which I can only compare to a boss battle, your no-uplevel zerg crashed into the Lord’s room and attacked us while we were there. We outnumbered you, but in all honesty, we had so many uplevels it felt like a fair fight. Eventually, we pushed you back and secured Bay. It was a great fight, and felt good. That’s the sort of thing I really enjoy in WvW, and it is those fights I will try to remember when we move on to T4, not the toxic animosity visible in this thread.

Eh, you have to expect back and forth hostility really. It’s a natural reaction to stress.

And when you’re stuck in a bad, frustrating situation watching the developers continually making your own game experience worse and worse you’re going to be just a tad stressed.

I kinda understand that SBI has been through most of the same bull that DR has had to put up with the past few weeks. Getting constantly destroyed through no fault of your own because band wagoners up and left en masse is no fun for anyone, so maybe you can understand that where you guys see yourselves patting each other on the backs other people might see you being condescending. No matter how polite you might think you’re being.

And this always happens. I’ve been on the losing side of pretty much every match up since I joined the game in head start. I played on JQ when HoD was ascendant. When I played on Kaineng it was two straight months of DR constantly punching us in the face. And now I’ve been on DR ever since it lost the majority of its population to Maguuma and Dragonbrand.

I have never seen a balanced match up in the history of the game. Someone is always ruining someone else’s kitten and then congratulating themselves about it, even though there is almost no way in hell they could have lost. It can get under your skin after a while.

The best thing you can do is understand that whatever resentment or irritation that gets expressed is mainly the fault of, and should be directed at, the system and not you personally.

Attic, I recognize that oftentimes people cannot deal with stress and resort to lashing out at others, but that is something that can be tempered. These sorts of threads can be quite exceptional; I distinctly remember how much fun the T4 thread was when we were losing against YB and CD. Sure we were outmanned, and sure people complained about it, but the general flow of the thread was positive, and everyone walked out of the match-up treating the others with respect. That is what these threads should be about.

No progression, small maps, night forces capping everything, constantly flipping defense points. The only reason I play this game is so when other server players have nightmares its our little group chasing them down instead of the stay puff marshmallow man.

I’m not sure I understand. Who is pretending what? I certainly am not. If EB was a great thread for you guys, then that’s really cool, and I hope you find that for your next match-up. I specifically wanted not to call out anyone, because certain SBI members have been less than savory all the same in this thread; it takes two to tango and all that.

Regardless, it’s not because “I say so” that it should happen. It should happen because everyone enjoys the match-up more that way, including those people who might otherwise complain. There is literally no downside to at least being respectful to one-another on the forums.

They don’t like us. Just deal with it (all parties involved).

We were actually thinking of having a fight club in 40 minutes. I know at least 4 AD players will show up.

- DR windmill.
- Stomping someone will get you killed, no interference from allies.
- Feel free to party up and talk after duels.
- Only emote allowed (and required) is /bow before & after a duel.
- Leave rage, insults, derogatory stuff at home.
- Will go on for as long as I can stay up.
- No sigil stacks, no skale venom, no blessings.
- Tap a player to challenge. /yes or /no to reply. Respect this decision.

Just have to say that the fights inside SM once SBI got enough people to have a chance against DR early this morning were amazing. That is the sort of thing I love about WvW. It’s just too bad DR went to bed after we finally stopped their push, I was looking forward to more.

Oh and it would be nice if you could get the message out for those who don’t frequent the forums. The more the merrier.

Those are the exception though, not the rule. All it takes to permanently derail the thread is for people to not let things go. Then it devolves into the pointless, and not particularly entertaining, one-upmanship we currently have.

Do you honestly think that Maguuma is going to zerg us worse than Yak’s Bend, Tarnished Coast or Sanctum of Rall? We were getting crushed consistently yet somehow the discussions remained civil week after week.

It’s understandable that you guys have been frustrated the past few weeks and you’ve taken that frustration out in our forum threads. Hopefully the matchups will favor your server more in the near future which will result in better discussions for all involved. Good luck…

That’s because no one plays WvW the way it was meant to be played. It might as well be two servers instead of three. The whole reason three servers is the magic number is to keep larger forces in check. IoJ and DR working together could have really hurt us.

If arenanet’s goal was to have balanced matchups in every tier there would be absolutely no need for three servers to be involved in the conflict. In fact, having three servers actually makes it more difficult to balance the tiers. If players want balance they have to create it themselves through teaming up with other servers to take down the largest force on the map(s). Arenanet gave us the perfect method of dealing with zergs and imbalance, all we have to do is use it.

Blame ANet. The possibility of having the weaker servers gang up on the bigger one went out the window the moment they decided to make WvW a competition with a ranking ladder, a scoreboard, and a definite 1st place, 2nd place, and loser every bloody week.

This isn’t Diplomacy. Most servers in the game don’t have the kind of co-ordination required to even attempt a cease-fire. Getting two of them in the same match up is less likely to happen than a nuclear war.

I’m not even going to comment on the idea that having only two sides per match would make WvW easier to balance. Have you never played any of the games that attempted that?
