There was no money offered to any of the SoS guilds by Blackgate to buy us onto the server. Its been verified and stated numerous times. Money was given after the fact to assist some of the non NA guilds from what I understand. None of the Axis of Insurrection guilds received any money at all.

If you feel you must do what you can to discredit another server with your trolling, be our guest.

Kudos to Jade Quarry on Sunday night. You guys pushed really hard into BG BL, with large fights happening at NW tower, Garrison, and Hills all at the same time. The zerg on zerg fights were pretty intense, with both sides stacking might, pushing forward, and/or flanking. Kitten talk is inevitable in threads like this, but I’m really enjoying Tier 1 and the competition you and SoR are giving.

I think you can draw a few conclusions from what we’re seeing on the scoreboard. To begin with, JQ has no major EU guild coverage. Hence, it’s reasonably safe to presume that BG will continue to post 300-400 ppt during the weekdays and remain dominant during that time.

I believe from the last gw2junkies show, VoTF mentioned they have people on JQ.

Fair enough, like I said…i’ve only recently joined. Like this past weekend. And yeah, I can see where they got a reputation for being solid skirmishers. We were steamrolling groups of 8-10 with our 4-5 on a fairly regular basis. Tough finding small skirmishes out there amongst the zergs though, lol. You have to have so much situational awareness and be on top of your group positioning to succeed. I enjoy and appreciate the challenge.

I don’t know how some people (Raven) can praise someone for being one of their good friends on a server and in the same breath spit on everything that said friend and his server have worked towards. He should be disregarded as a footnote in this thread as he was merely a footnote when we went back to Tier 1 the last time. While we were playing 10 hours a day, he was busy trying to pull guild members to do Arah and posting every other week on our guild forums about how we need to “PvE more” and that our “players aren’t geared” or are “underleveled”. All of which made me laugh. The thought that someone doesn’t have a full set of gear at this point in the game is laughable to say the least. Overall he is a negative attitude at its finest. Don’t be scared to tell him off SoR, you have my deepest sympathies.

To dispel any rumors. We assisted with transfer costs for players who needed the help. We did not buy any guilds and no guilds that moved here did so because of the promise of any sort of assistance. In fact, they did not receive a dime of help until most of their members had moved. They then had “skin in the game”, if you will. Indo said himself in his speech that they’d assist people with a fund if they’d already made the commitment to move there, which is highly respectable and therefore it would be hypocritical for anyone to talk about the actions of other servers helping guilds who wanted to call us home. All guilds that moved to Blackgate did so because of our community and our attitude. Speaking of which, I am very excited to hear OCX has moved to SoR and my best wishes for them and any others that would call your server home. You all are true competitors.

I respect all opponents that we have in this game. I may have had my personal differences with members of other guilds on other servers, but that does not mean I do not admire the fact that they show up every single day to try and spill my blood as I do the same to them.

Epic fight in the south camp on SoR BL with HB and LotD… 20 minutes of pure fun. We actually let JQ have hills just so we could keep fighting you down there oh well have to go retake that now.

I tried jumping into that fight and couldn’t even swap attunements so i left. The skill lag in those huge fights is just horrible.

It started out as a lot of fun in the first few minutes but once the skill lag set in it became pretty unplayable. The Cornfield bash-a-thon

Come play during Oceanic coverage. Its basically 60 player BG zergs, 30 player JQ zergs and a bunch of SOR doors. Skill lag seems to be fine.

I didn’t like the fact you left under those circumstances, but by the time I got home to start kicking everyone in the nuts to calm the f down it’d pretty much been done and dusted. I know all about Blackgate’s history, (sans the over-dramatisation it didn’t need because we’re not actually that interesting), but its never reached an appallingly bad low where anyone thought it was unsalvageable.
The people who will fight are the same ones I’ve always known that are out there hail, shine or raining blood and worth knowing ever since we first started playing. They’ll probably always be there and we’ll do what we do regardless of how many come and go.
The only thing that will kill Blackgate and make them stop fighting is Anet if they don’t fix the problems the game has in the next month or so, because we’ll all leave to go play something else that isn’t busted, buggy and has the potential to last more than 8 months past release

SOR, to be honest their north Americans have little bearing on when I play except for the tail end of that timezone on weekends, if they think they’re hotter than buttered minge, that’s just great… they fact is, the ‘result’ isn’t there regardless of how great anyone thinks they are. At the individual, squad, battlegroup level they haven’t become asymmetric enough to win their matches on a consistent enough basis. But that’s something I’d hope by now they’d be working on. Even former 8-man DAOC players like myself would put aside our personal glory of killing 1000’s of zerglings if the realm needed us to help take or defend a relic or something similar.

Where I do have a problem is that they have a large amount of people that denigrate and disrespect the other teams publicly- when they win an encounter, when they lose, when they just seem to apparently feel like it. The lack of sportsmanship is appallingly bad and it’s splattered their more upstanding members of that gaming community unfairly with the same crap.

This becomes more relevant ‘post-GW2’ in so much that the last 3 big guilds I’ve been a part of and helped found where mostly made up of large groups of people who we fought on the other side! We ripped each others heads off in DAOC for 8-9 years, went to Warhammer together and ripped other people’s to bits, those in turn snowballed into another guild which went to AION, mostly comprised of people we fought in Warhammer… to the point I’m here now and with people who I went into AION with, are now in GW2.

Point being, heaping junk on other gamers regardless of the side you’re playing on means you will probably end up fairly lonely little bugger in the long run by limiting who will put up with your crap. Server transfers are more of a bit of a lateral extension of what happens as I mentioned above, mixed in with a generational change in how gamers apply themselves to something in a system which enables it.

As Scoobs so kindly pointed out… yeah I’m old, I tend to work at something and make it better through my own efforts, as opposed to younger generations who will rarely settle in employment roles for very long as they’re easily bored and think they can find personal fulfillment and success doing something differently, somewhere else.
Its not better or worse, just different.
