I for one am very much enjoying this patch. The removal of culling has been great. Its nice to see each server adapt to being able to see each other and the new movements that have come along with it.

I saw the SoR zerg coming and was like “Finally, reenforcements~!” and they killed me! WTF? THEN, they took our tower! It must have been a clerical error because we have a truce going on.

Lowest settings aren’t bad though. I have a PC that could handle a higher setting but I put the character quality on lowest because it just gives such a higher framerate. I have the character limit on highest but the quality on lowest and I couldn’t believe how smooth the battles were. It was 100x better than it was before. I personally don’t care what people’s gear looks like in WvW so I don’t mind at all that the models are simple colors and such

I have everything set to lowest and I agree, the higher framerate is definitely worth it. I can live with the ugly graphics.

I kinda see the 2v1 concept, but not in game. Its smarter for SOR to play for second because they don’t have the coverage to beat JQ, but they have the numbers to beat BG. BG has now beaten JQ and JQ doesn’t want that to happen again so we are making sure it doesn’t by targetting BG. Just the way things go. But its not like anyone on JQ is like, öh its SOR we will leave them be". We see an invader, BG or SOR, we will do what we can to bring the hurt.

Oh really. Those pics are from last night. When you could see the clear 2v1 and neither could take the keep during the 90 minute long staring contest. Ended up wiping both SoR and JQ.

Ya know, it’s funny, because this is the exact opposite impression I get as I have to watch BG’s backside all day long when I play. Even today, I got 2v1’d by a THF and WAR, THF ran 3+ times to reset its HP during the 10 minute fight, WAR ran at least twice, and in the end they both ran from my crappy guardian without getting me below 75% HP. It was pretty bad, and makes me kinda mad that everyone runs faster than me =/

I miss my THF

I have been enjoying being able to see everyone while playing, but despite the game assuming my computer could handle the higher numbers of visible players, the lag was pretty incredible. At one point it took over 10 seconds for a skill to go off so I had to quit playing with the group for the night to toy with the settings. It works best for me on lower settings. There have been some pretty epic fights, though, and the seas of red on JQBL last night as the 3-way fights went down were a sight to see.

I’ve noticed that a few choice BG guilds are pretty impatient when it comes to siege/defense. :P

Bout 4 hours ago on bgbl, SoR took the BG Gari, while JQ Portal camped any bg trying to enter to defend. JQ after SoR capped did fight Sor for the gari, but it was obvious what was going on. SoR and JQ were even waving at eachother. Then to come here and deny it sure ok, and jq lost last week cause of flame rams in there gari. While BG was running 570ppt.

Who denied it? We see BG and JQ fighting at a spot that we’re also interested in capping, and wtf are we supposed to do? Let you kitten honor duel and then /bow before we engage? It was fortuitous for us that JQ had you blocked off at spawn. JQ knew they had you beat with their zerg, and knew they could easily take Garrison back from us – it made perfect sense to both JQ and SoR for JQ to kill you while we cleared up in the lord room.

On top of all that you beat JQ one week. You think you can poke the giant in the rear and get away clean? So yeah now you’re a threat to them and they’re going to focus you, HARD. SoR is currently in 2nd, we know we don’t have the coverage JQ has, we’ll fight them the whole time, but BG’s going to be the focus from us as well. So there you go, you get 2v1, next month something may happen and JQ is 2v1 from their perspective for 3 weeks. Or SoR feels they are being 2v1 on every map. And you know what? we are all right, every team is being 2v1’d, every match, all the time.

By ‘open field’ he means their 40 vs our 10 defending a tower. They want us to come out and fight fair. 10 of us against 40 of them is a mismatch if we have siege.

But in all seriousness, we can now see everything. Of course this means at some point you will see JQ running from BG. It happens. So does BG running from JQ.

It’s when folks make the leap to say “This happens all the time!” that problems start.

It’s pretty clear to all who actually play the game that all 3 servers will and do fight in the open field. If anyone has their doubts about this, then you’re not paying attention.

Personally, I don’t run from fights because death in this game is a joke. Just a tap on the wrist and a run back to the fight. More often than not I am rewarded for not running by seeing my enemies crushed before me or chasing them down to some darkened godforsaken hole in the middle of nowhere and giving them a time out. Sometimes the enemy gets the better of me. That’s where the fun is.

Most of us play for fun. Running away is not fun. Hiding is not fun. Fighting is fun. MOST of use from all 3 servers feel that way.

2v1s happen in this game, its designed around it in fact. I have absolutely no problems with it at all, I use it constantly when commanding.

My issue is with certain SOR guilds, and you know who you are, that PM the JQ commanders and decide on actions directly against BG.

I can tell the difference between a 2v1 of opportunity and coordination, and so can anyone else that understands how this game works. SM is undefended, with a wall down and paper gates with JQ at QL and you take a paper Durios instead, then push to Bravost? I get trying it once or even twice, but you had to run by the open wall in SM to get back to Bravost a fourth and fifth time. Actions like these are not 2v1s of opportunity.

Long term, however, it doesn’t matter all that much. We wiped both sides continually on EBG last night, our BG playerbase is leveling their new abilities much faster when tactics like that are used against us.

Blackgate takes it as a compliment you guys have to do things like this to beat us.

Nope I don’t read every page, I go to work, I also sleep sometimes don’t spend the time digging through every page to read up on fights I wasn’t there for. I come here and read through times I play on.

Not only did BG beat us last week, many ppl from BG disrespected our server more than normal on the forums and by guesting to our server to troll. JQ as a server has never really been that way to others. We are making sure BG are paid back for the disrespect in these cases. Though it was only a select several that were this way. Their actions represent their server and their server will pay the price for it.

It does make perfect sense – stir the hornet’s nest with a huge zerg, or go for the garrison that will likely give us little to no resistance and still reward us with bags, karma, exp, wxp and ppt. Gee, I can’t make up my mind.

In all fairness, we went into that keep expecting one side to wipe the other, and we’d just kill the survivor after claiming a relatively easily taken garrison. We didn’t expect JQ to have so many there though, so it didn’t really work out so well for us. :P

Yeah I don’t understand why BG is acting like what is happening this week is a surprise. With the hardcore siege griefing that happened at the end of last match, JQ losing and then the taunting that happened in JQ Lion’s Arch after the match…it’s like yeah no duh we are getting our pay back.

News flash. If JQ hadn’t been there harassing us from behind the entire night, you never would have kept Hills. You should be thanking them, not crying 2v1. regardless though the nature of 3 faction is 2v1 get used to it.

Are you watching what’s going on outside of your keep? Are you sure JQ and SoR aren’t fighting everywhere else that you aren’t?

Keeps are worth poitns and both servers wanted YOURS, so the met up there to downgrade it to paper so they can slug it out for the right to hold it for a while.

Do this: Sneak out to the front lines where JQ and SoR meet. There’s lots of fighting. Or watch the green and red colors flip back and forth.

I went up and stood next to a JQ player during that battle to scout them. We left each other alone because he was also scouting us. I waved at them. Then 20 minutes later when we got sick of [WARD] trebbing us from the NW corner we pulled off the gate ran around the south side, came back up and wiped their group off that treb. You’re right though, we were working together.

And you do realize there are people on other maps too. Not just EB. The reason those folks were at your keep is it was easy pickens, versus the hard fights on other maps. Some of us go for the hard fights, some for easy pickens. Doesn’t mean there’s this 2 v 1 conspiracy.

Right now, it might help for folks to keep a calm head and go to another map or come back when more of their server mates are on.

When I go to EB and two servers are assaulting my keep and only 40 of my players are there, I kinda know why the other two servers are there. They want the easy keep. Lots of points, not a hard target.

The idea that SoR and JQ NEEDED to team up or WANTED to team up is not rational. They wanted to fight each other for YOUR KEEP.

If you had your usual folks on, this wouldn’t happen. Keeps are usually hard to take but desired for world completion any time one is vulnerable, it’s going down. That’s not 2 v 1 that the nature of WvW.

It’s all good JQ. Blackgate would have likely done the same if the roles were reversed. Hopefully this week’s reality check will quiet some or most of our vocal minority that feels the need to talk crap and taunt our opponents and we can work on getting back to business. Lesson to all .. don’t taunt and disrespect your opponent unless you’re willing to have a target placed on your back. What’s funny is, the players doing the gloating in LA probably put in a fraction of the effort of those of us who are out there every night trying to make good things happen.
