Thanks for the heads up, I wasn’t aware you could even do this and I can assure you that as a commander I’d never ask people to do this. I’ll advise them not to do it out of good faith. Though I’d hardly call this an exploit.

There doesn’t even seem to be any proof that this works. The inactivity timer in WvW is very random, I’ve been AFK for long periods without being kicked just standing at border waypoint.

Found them on YT, looks like they are still out there. I am not sure why their videos have 5-10 viewers, they are one of the best guilds on SoR!

I don’t think we have failed miserably in t1 and we’re hardly out of contention this time. Last week wasn’t a bad performance and right now we’re not doing so bad either.

The time BG got to t1 before this I thought everyone on BG fought hard and tried their best. You can’t ask for more than that regardless of the outcome.

I would imagine that many on SoR would be pretty frustrated to see so many SoS guilds pass up the chance to join SoR’s “family” but you cannot begrudge an entire server of people just for being on a server where other people chose to transfer. Or maybe you can, your choice.

You have instead engaged in a form of logical fallacy known as “poisoning the well.” BG’s performance history in t1 has nothing to do with SoR’s current plans for t1. You said there’s a super duper top secret SoR plan. I can’t imagine what it would be except to tank the match and play in t2.

Meh on the SoR/KN thing. 100 rating separates them, which all of us on BG know is huge between tiers. SoR is maintaining rating this week and it looks like T2 is fairly well balanced in scoring potential. Assuming the results of this week will be a rough average for future matches, neither server is going anywhere unless something changes player participation/numbers.

Yeah, I think I’d prefer to see Kaineng in t1 because their asian presence might actually help us deal with JQ’s asian presence.

I don’t know how Kaineng would fare overall though, JQ is a monster of an opponent.

I’m also not overly fond of the SoR forum posters. I’d imagine that most people on the server are quite pleasant though.

Yeah, I look at the game from an Oceanic/SEA perspective because that’s really the only time I play.

I was very happy in T2 too, not a fan of 50000 man SEA zergs, takes a lot of the fun out of it.

Saw you guys briefly last night outside either our spawn tower. Looked like you were running 10+ though and that map was a poor choice. Our spawn area was being camped and when we got out we took NW, N and NE camps without seeing a soul. When Choo is on a map it’s just 500 million people in one group and no one anywhere else for SOR. Boring and Talentless

Well, we never claimed to be meta game specialists, we just go where the fights are. I don’t follow what happens to our zergs very closely, but I believe our numbers dwindled as the evening progressed to the point where the SoR and JQ zergs overwhelmed us. That kitten coverage gap between NA Pacific and Oceanics, I tell ya! Good fights last night though, our 10+ (12 at one point for a bit, then back down to our usual 5 or so) had a good time in that BG!

No worries – I wasnt trying to hold you t some crazy high standard, I just get excited at the thought of anyone running small man groups in t1. I ran into a WORK 5man earlier tonight, but was unfortunately only with 2 others at th time forming a group Still was a long fight between garr and NW bay (my secret havoc/solo spot… dont kitten it up with your zergs).

One of the Choo commanders is cool because he will break up his full map zerg if you ask him to when BG has two 20-25 man groups roaming around. So props to him.

JQ only won by 16k last week. That’s hardly a lead and could be negated within a day. That point gap was generated during a Friday in which nobody really plays anyway. The 3rd server can always determine who wins.

BG lost their lead last Thursday. Nobody goes all out on Friday because the match is usually decided by then. Unfortunately for BG, JQ decided not to pull 15 hour shifts in wvw for coverage and was still full of energy on thursday. Just goes to show that coverage > everything else.

Btw, 3rd server in an uneven match up is nothing but a tool for the top server to manipulate.

Well of course! We do run on tracks ya know.

But on a more serious note, what is with all the negative connotation surrounding “zergs” that form on servers.

They have their positives and negatives just like any other strategy in the current WvW meta. They are good at taking tough objectives, but lack the mobile map presence.

However, fracturing into many small groups makes your key positions susceptible to zergs and also demoralizes your pugs.

Having a hybrid of the two is great and all, but finding that balance is difficult especially considering fluctuating numbers not only on a day to day basis, but on an hourly basis as well. Then you have to factor in composition of the current build being compromised by fracturing along with the current morale of the map’s troops.

This is not even taking into account going into a map with T3 enemy structures which beats groups of 15-20 with 5-10 men on siege.

So, we run a train, we run people over. That is our goal and we are good at doing it. We are exploring having multiple groups built into that strategy, but as the current WvW meta stands, zergs work well. Every server does it. And until something changes overall in WvW meta that is zerg breaking, it will probably stay that way.

Now I’m going to bed, so take everything I just said with a grain of salt, I’m tired T.T

1st off we only had about 15 and the rest were random. At most we had 25-30 total. Might have seemed like more due to how quickly you died. So I can forgive your blatant exaggeration.

2nd – FEAR was not invited to your little “casual” event so we felt slighted and acted accordingly. Next time it would behoove you to possibly send us an invite.

3rd – We were farming badges all evening (all week for that matter) and seeing that the map was rather quiet we went to where the badges could be found. It’s WvW my friend so complaining about being killed in any BL is rather pointless.

4th – yes we were bored. Thank you for providing us with a laugh before we logged for the night.

Actually when the incident occurred I was on my fresh lvl 80 necro. So I’m very far from being a “badazz” as you put it on that character. But yes you may have my autograph in the form of a rubber stamp pounded lovingly onto your forehead.

SoR was happy in T2-3 as well. We had awesome battles against Dragonbrand, Yak’s Bend…battles where the numbers were always juuuust slightly in one side’s favor or another. Never any real numerical or timezone coverage advantage to be found.

Then people started hearing about SoR’s awesome fights and transferred to us, and we wound up getting pushed into T1 much to MANY a SoR player’s chagrin. The thing is, there’s nothing you can do about it.

You either have bandwagonners hop on your server because it has developed a rep…or like Blackgate and others did, you chase other guilds and beg and plead and promise cookies.
