I was just wondering who the IOJ necro commander was in the IOJ BL jump puzzle on (think it was monday) i was the sylvari ranger that you fought. We were having a great 1 on 1 battle with both of us rallying after being downed, sorry about the second guy that ended up jumping in on our little dance I would have bowed after finishing you off but we were in water.

ok, this has gotten silly lol. All this darkhaven hate… yesterday in DR BL i was at the keep and a group of about 35 people (quite a few [NoQQ] in the pack) were making a push on our forces which were roughly …12-15 people , who by looking at guild tags were mostly Pugs ect.

So you folks would make a push, the second you met any resistance…you would fall WAY back..and hope for a few idiots to overextend. rinse and repeat.

now i understand this as strategy..but it sure seems people are flinging insults taking one portion of a battle and picking it apart, calling it cowardice.

people need to stop running to the boards every time the get a lil sand in their Hoo-Hoo and realize that there is ebb and flow to each encounter and to take a slice out to over analyze is doing everyone a disservice.

As a side note , and credit where credit is due. I got to dive into the Noqq forces a few times and i have to say. your use of fields and finishers is awesome. I had to stretch and focus to get back into the game lol. got a few of ya…but man..hats off to you!

Hey, good fights with IoJ yesterday at your keep in EB.

My word of advice (which you can purposefully ignore):
Your defence was lacking in the lord room, while it’s there that it you should have the most siege, and waited with your people ( a good number died outside). 5 carts, 2-3 balistas and a cata would perhaps have saved your keep because we were not that many.

Anyway don’t feel bad, Darkhaven is really on fire at the moment and seems a good number of people on your server gave up on WvW. You guys just need to rally more people, you have good strategy.

As for the “zerg-this” “zerg-that” discussion on this forum, it’s not true that only numbers matter.

We have flanked a few slightly bigger zerg yesterday with almost no casualties. The element of surprise cannot be ignored, the ground level and situation, is extremely important and dare I say combo-skill as well. You (IoJ) have done so as well, so a minimum respect for the skill of the other players would do some good in this thread.

What a joke. Stop LYING. I record this stuff you know. I wasn’t able to record most of last night but I think Larks and Jezri did. I will encourage them to post the footage so everyone can see how full of kitten you are.

We were in DH BL, not DR BL and the GRIM that were there were part of the “idiots” who overextended and got killed. Repeatedly.

And yes, we would fall back and not chase you as you were running back into your keep or tower. And yes, we would extend you when you started coming at us with over twice our number so we could extend you, thin you out, and kill you. Which is what we did for almost the entire night.

That is correct. Zerglings have a real hard time counting for some reason. It’s most likely a self-protection mechanism. If they could count properly they would have to face the reality of how much they truly suck.

Yes, what a compliment to say that we run whenever we meet resistance. Heh. The reason we pull WAY back from a keep is to have enough ground to turn on you AND KILL YOU ALL before you run back into your keep.

I think what he’s trying to say is that what may not appear to be a rouse to stretch the zerg became apparent to him as one that night, and he commends you guys on your ability to pull it off. It seemed like a pretty clear-cut compliment to me, anyway.

Anyway, enough kittening – I was flipping camps with two friends and a pug tonight in DHBL as I’d gotten sick of seeing EB green and wanted to contribute a few points for us. After about an hour and a half of running around the map, back-capping what you DH guys were grabbing, you got smart and hid on the scaffolding – something we only noticed at the last moment… Too late for our little pug guy to notice! Haha.

That was a fun little fight we had up there; too bad a few of us rallied from those wolves/rams/whatever, or it would have ended a lot sooner! I think it was [SaS], but I’m not 100% certain..

I forget the guild tag but I fought a really good Necro from DR in DR BL last night. In the back of the SW supply camp. You were staff and dagger/horn. Really surprised how much you were moving around. Those chills were deadly. Our duel was cut short when some other people arrived and you all got me. Best necro I ever fought so far.

I know there have been some insane 3 ways recently but I don’t specifically remember the one you are talking about (don’t remember one involving PD at the NW tower, so I probably wasn’t there).

Yeah that was us, hit IoJ first but then quickly figured out DH was more organized, wiped both of you on the third run around, was a hell of a lot of fun last night.

I think this happens to every server or small group that plays like that. For example, i was with 1 (One) other person last night, a norn guardian on the DR side of EB. We would engage an even or slightly larger group, they run, and keep running. Oh, but here are 5 more DR coming to help… immediately turn back around to fight. They start to lose -> run->repeat until we have to leave or we get killed by sheer mass. Oh, and then they emote. ^.^

@Joey – That would be Marin. He is one heck of a necro, and a great guy to boot. Must have been when he was checking up on the back of supply as we were grouped, 4 of us total, defending that supply most of the night ( actually we were having a dance off on the gate top with an adventure box. Don’t tell Vars or Bela, they think we were doing helpful stuff. )

So, who has the broken calculator? We get misleading numbers for both DHBL and DRBL for last night, along with quite a few back handed comments. I was in DRBL all last night, and DH had 2 large groups ( one at hills and one at bay. ) Hills got wiped at lord and bay followed shortly after just inside the outer gate. We, DR, had almost as many people as 1 of the DH groups. After that they left. I assume for greener, read undefended, pastures. And for the record… the only “running” I did last night is the running around picking up bags.

@IOJ, great times had by all at red supply last night. We enjoyed the fights in and around the camp. Just please please stop targeting the asura engi ( me ) first. Kill the humans first next time. Thanks in advance.

There are others, of course, but I’ve only run across them once so they most likely don’t run around with a small team regularly.

That’s exactly how SE operates Oozo. Usually a have a giant zerg ball of uplvls and commanders karma training while a few of us roam around on the outside taking camps or just plain fighting people while the zerg does their thing.

I ran out of HD space so I only recorded one fight that happened between the SW tower and Bay last night. In this clip you will see our full force of 35 falling back after 15 DH incuding GRIM put up some resistance.

The fighting here was pretty much nonstop for over an hour. We killed A LOT of people as more DH kept arriving. We were working on the tower to try to draw the DH out of the Bay that we pushed in there earlier.

When you see us “falling back” sometimes we are flat out running away because we are facing overwhelming numbers. Sometimes we are trying to move you to a position where the terrain gives us an advantage. Sometimes we are trying to draw you far enough away from your keep or tower so we can loop around to flank you to cut off your retreat route back to the keep so we can KILL YOU ALL. The last one is what we were doing last night. And we did it well.

It was good times last night in DRBL. The DH zerg, after capping the IoJ map came to DR but found us vigorously defending. Most memorable for me was arriving to find DH zerging hills through the north gate. We skirmished between gates well until inner gate fell. Darkestshadows rallied us all in the Lords room, where it took 2 sorties to wipe the much larger DH zerg. We tried then to respond to the DH zerg at Bay, but had no supply and had to fight this time for the south gate of Hills (there were so many DH they hit both north and south end at same time). We wiped that, went to bay, took out the DH golem there. We got portal bombed from behind as we were engaging on the cliff, and cliff dove to rally down in the water. Sadly I got disconnected from GW2 at that point, but it was fun while it lasted.

Hats off to the fine command of our leaders on DR. It is a pleasure WvWing with you guys.

ps. most uplifting thing was spotting a lone thief from a minor guild repairing wall at Bay in the sneaky spot that had been damaged. /hatip

It seems I have underestimated GRIM. Naturally their reputation precedes them, and the fact that they can send our 35 man zerg packing with a 5man and some pugs is well known. But the fact that they can do so while running signet warriors?

On my 80 I prefer to avoid the mass zergs and do more smaller engagements where my PC doesnt drop down to 5 frames :P

Dunno, I say both sides have broken calculators. Map numbers seemed roughly even to me, if not a bit in DRs favor. DR ended up thrashing the DH that were there.

My guess is, DR decided to pool resources first at east keep, then predicted a move from DH that mirrored it on west keep (getting as many people as possible to the same place). Good call though, as losing in places like the lord room will inevitably cause some numbers to drop from the side that got wiped.

Fun times, either way!

Personally, as I hesitantly followed Charrcat as he charged into you guys like you bathed in tuna or something, I will admit I thought we were committing suicide what with not one but two massive blobs of red names.

In the end, it turned out that IoJ really didn’t care much for us helping them (that, or they rather liked Stylii’s skimpy outfit and were a little zealous in trying to follow her), and hunted us down in the skritt caves while I tried to do my best Daffy Duck impression.

At least Ferguson Crossing fights better than you do!!!! ;-P Oh by the way if you are trying to insult us to get us rilled up you are going to have to do a lot better by attacking something we care about instead of tier status. We (AD/BSTY/NoQQ) don’t care about our tier status. So I will help you out by saying we only care about farming people in WvWvW like we did last night against you guys with a lot less. So to get us rilled up come out with like numbers & kill us other than that your insults aren’t working.

Fight Club, Fight Club, Fight Club! That’s right guys, it’s the time of the week, occurring hopefully every Thursday afternoon!

Location – Devona’s Rest Borderlands under Champion’s Demense Camp
Time – Thursday after DAILY reset (8 PM EST) (Please PM if you need a conversion to your immediate time)

Standard Tips/Rules:
- /bow before duel
- Duel ends when the opponent is downed
- Anyone who interrupts, please inform that a Fight Club is taken place; if they do not understand and continue interrupting, down them and again, inform them again. Finishing an interrupting player is not tolerated, but if need be over several warnings, must be done.
- Abusing mobs/environment will not be permitted (example – C&Ding off animals/spectators)
- NEW If you would like to have team duels (2v2, 3v3, and so forth), you need to contact the individuals you want to have duels with (Guilds/Server players) and arrange a location to have one. The team duel ends when the last person is downed (previous team members need to be finished, and stay finished until after the last person is downed).

All players are encouraged to come to this weekly event. I have been able to contact certain guilds to come to have an expected Fight Club at the asked time. To avoid hatred against opposing servers, detrimental comments are not tolerated and will not be respected, please keep in mind, attenders of this event are only trying to have a specific type of fun and improvement towards friendship with other servers and WvWing.

Fight Club is about practice against other classes! Do not be discouraged if you lose a fight, be persistent, but also be mindful that other players want to have fun too! Keep dueling =)

Yes, dishonest people bug the hell out of me. At no point was there anything even close to 35 DR versus 15 DH. Why the F would we need “tactics” if we outnumbered you that badly? You were there for 10 minutes according to yourself. You claim we had 35 and you had 15. You say we fell back even though we had that kind of number advantage on you. Anyone with half a brain can see you are full of kitten.

Yeah, man… we had to fall back a few times and do some flanking maneuvers when your 15 turned on our 35. And you saw us extend and turn on your forces exactly how many times in a span of 10 minutes?

You are partly correct about DR forces in DRBL. Pretty sure all the big guilds ( DDLG, AoD, OBS, ect… ) had people in teamspeak and we were all working together. Darkestshadows was commanding the main force, while Bela & Vars were commanding the people holding until the main force arrived. So the DR zerg you saw was the only main force last night. Everyone else was either a pug or one of our 10 man or less groups. Bela, alone, was trebbing several objectives while we defended other objectives.

First call was to hills as you had already eaten both outer doors and was on back inner gate. I got there just as the back gate went down. Dark did a great job calling out sides to go and people to stomp. He kept saying something about "KILL THEM ALL!!!! /insert drooling sounds.

Then those that wern’t repairing were sent to bay, where you already had outer south door down and had siege firing on inner wall. The main force split in two. Half came from upper bridge, Garrison side. The other from Bay up ramp. DH got caught in a sandwich as the DR zerg re-combined at the mid-point.

DH did start 2 breakouts to get Blue tower, but in 1 the siege guy didn’t quite make it all the way, and the other he did get to the tower, but died there after to AC fire. Not sure what DH was doing, but the 30ish present left after a minute or so of the AC’s. We had about 10, including me, in the tower defending with others pushing back to your spawn.

tldr : 10 hold, 40 respond, turn map blue.

Most of your crew seem pretty riled up all the time. Many seem to enjoy forum PvP as much as in-game PvP.
