According to the wiki – if I take the slow way and make the weapon myself in mystic forge then I will only have to use 100 tickets.. which would mean I could at max get 5 weapons from the new set?

You need to purchase both a Gift of Heroes and a Hero’s Weapon to make a Mistforged one. The Gift costs 200 tickets & the Hero’s weapon costs 100.

I think you need to check your maths. You can get 5 regular Hero weapons, but not 5 Mistforged.

Um where does it say Gift of Heroes cost 200 tickets if you make it in mystic forge?

Okay lets try this route. Explain how you get the gift of heroes to make the weapon. No vendor I know has it and there doesn’t appear to be a recipe. So does it appear out of thin air?

If i remember correctly, you are able to buy the hero’s weapon, mistforged hero’s weapon and gift of heroes from a vendor that will appear or something along those lines at the end of the tournament.

No one would ever buy mistforged directly if you could just upgrade Hero to Mistforged for 250 badges and no tokens.

So rewards are total kitten. Winner should get at least 6 weapons.

But it would be a great incentive for those who actually stayed doing WvW rather than those who came to get achievements and a weapon for little to no effort!

Personally I can’t imagine why people would go for the option of getting a hero’s weapon and paying extra badges + gold (10 piles of crystalline dust) just so that they can have the skin without the particle effects rather than be so patient as to wait till the next tournament and get the entire mistforged skin.

You might do it so you can have a reward after one season without having enough tokens to get a mistforged weapon outright. That way, you still get something shiny, and can upgrade it when the next season rolls around.

Yeah if I’m reading it right the Mistforged Weapon is an Exotic. But a Heroes Weapon is just a Rare weapon.

Who’s going to use a Rare weapon for six months? Its just going to sit in inventory until after the next tournament. So you may as well let the tickets sit in inventory for six months.

Unless the tickets expire. So I’m guessing they do expire before the next tournament.

I think its pretty much just for the skin which is kind of pointless. I mean its nice to have skins if they are good but for a Tournament i think they should have been the skin plus the Mistforged version being a Ascended stat weapon

It seems a little cruel to deny a Mistforged weapon to players on servers ranking 6th-9th. Arguably, they fought the hardest to complete the meta achievement while playing on servers that were underpopulated and outmanned.

A lot of people came into this tournament reading the chart as 200 tickets OR 250 badges, as it seemed the extra cost of 4 Bottles of Elonian Wine and 10 Piles of Crystalline Dust were punitive enough to someone who didn’t rank high enough, or someone that wanted multiple skins.

My server is going to end up tied for 2nd, so this isn’t going to be an issue for me — but I know there are some 6th place servers out there with commanders that gave ten times the effort I did.

Perhaps in the future, your team could plan out WvW rewards that give at least one of the best skins to the server in last place, and several to those who are in first. That’s the reasonable approach I thought you took when I first saw the announcement, and made that mistake about the badge cost.

Basically what the above poster said. SOR fought hard and worked as best as we could, but we had no chance of placing above 6th place. We really didn’t have any reason to even still be in Silver League with our current numbers.

I’m not even sure why anyone would bother buying a Hero Weapon when it’s just a rare. They’re incredibly common, and any player that played enough to finish the Meta likely has full exotics. Better to save the cost of the wine and dust, and wait till next season.

All this really does is further increase the incentive to ditch a badly performing world and pile onto the Gold Tier servers. You may not end up in 1st, but you’ll still get enough tickets to buy a skin.

I second that question. By everything we heard so far about the wardrobe, it should, but better safe than sorry.

In Season 3 (assuming there is a S3), can you put into the reward system a way of upgrading Mistforged weapons to ascended? Exotic/Rare doesn’t really cut it nowadays.

Remember even ascended isn’t the 1st tier, legendarys are the 1st tier, Ascended 2nd tier, Exotics 3rd tier…

My question is if the idea is to keep the same currency of tournament tickets for S3 of WvW? So, if I decide to get a Mistforged Weapon for 300 tickets now, and have 200 to spare.

Can I wait for S3 and obtain another Mistforged Weapon once I have 300 tickets again? Or is this currency a one-time occurrence so there’s no point saving?

I don’t understand what’s the point of “craftable” Mistforged weapons if their cost in tickets is same as if you buy them directly.

Why use 300 tickets + mats to craft a Misftorged weapon if you can simple use those 300 tickets to buy the weapon directly, or am i missing something?

I guess you can make them seperately for 2 reasons:

1. Incase you change your mind after purchasing a regular weapon
2. Ability to purchase a Hero weapon this season, and then the Gift next season.

Yes, it’s like that so everyone is able to buy a weapon, but not everybody (only top5) will get a cool mistforged one

I think the players should be rewarded, not the servers. If i do more, give more (repeatable achis with token rewards)

Yes, thought that too. this would’ve been perfect. An event that happens only like twice per year and rewards you with ascended weapons. But obviously its just about the skins. I guess this makes the skins a little more epic.

I don’t see why Gifts are only purchasable with Tokens, and not Badges. I think that’s a really peculiar decision.

So what if people can make 3-4 Mistforged weapons rather than 1-2? Assuming biannual seasons/leagues/whatever, they can only make about 7 mistforged weapons, and that’s if they spend another 3.5k badges on it. Unless these skins are intended to take something like 8 years to collect in their entirety?…

I think it’s great we can make only one mistforged weapon for now. Just image how would it feel when you see everyone running around with 4-5 of them. If you are lucky enough, you will have one and you have to choose wisely. Otherwise it would be just another skin that everybody has…

1-5 get a cool skin, 6-9 get a non-flashy version.

If you’re first place, you can also buy 5 non-flashy weapons.

..What do you think..i,m dump? …can’t do the mat?..but sins we are clarifying things ..let do it slowly so people who have not been to school can understand..

Everyone has fought this whole wvw league season 2. And we expect, by putting our time and courage in fighting in wvw, to get some good rewards. But i really don’t see why we can’t purchase Gift of Heroes anymore with badges of honor, only with tokens. The people who have fought and are on 6th place or lower should deserve at least a Mistforged skin. And the one’s who are between the 1st and 5th place should deserve 2 or 3/5 Mistforged hero skins, because we fight in high populated servers and it is always hard to fight against bigger zergs, even blobs… All our time and effort for just one Mistforged Hero Weapon, that would make everyone just angry….

We are a community that loves this game, but if you don’t give a Mistforged Hero weapon to the ones who are placed 6th or lower, there’s something wrong. We all are equal people and everyone should have at least one Mistforged Hero Weapon. By giving a Mistforged Hero Weapon to the ones who are ranked between 1st and 5th place, would lead to jealous and angry people who are placed 6th and 9th while they did an effort too in the league. Stand up for equality please…

Am i the only one that thinks that by getting a mistforged weapon with 300 tickets or getting the parts to make one at extra cost (200 for the gift then 100 for the weapon plus the others) stupid?

I think you are misunderstanding what she is saying.
Before it costed the same amount of tickets AND badges.
Now it only costs the tickets.
The price in tickets is still exactly the same as it was before, and as such even if you had the badges you would have been unable to buy the gift if you didn’t have enough tickets.
