PLease stop with the body block talk, worst mechanic ever that can and will cause lag, and don’t use the “but its been around for ever so surely they can implement a lag free version” because raid parties have been around foreve, LoS restrictions have been around forever, Pet AI has been around forever, bug fixes have been around forever ….. you see where I’m going with this ?
Can collide with allies like you can against mobs and enemies

Only ones who want aoe cap removed are players who wanna use some lame kitten ele spike groups. Even i know how to cast meteor shower + tornado. Doesn’t really take skill at all. Guild groups wipe zone blobs because of aoe cap. Without aoe cap they would wipe choke point every time when 60 dudes spam some barrage.

Most people like zergs, it is what makes GW2’s wvw so much fun. The people that don’t like zergs are the minority, and in most cases are the vocal minority that ruins the game for others. If zerging is punished, wvw will suffer.

I think this is a valid necro, so mods, please don’t lock this thread. The concerns addressed herein have not yet been addressed!
I would like to supplement the suggestions:
Suggestion: GOLEM REWORK
- Existing golem blueprints can be traded for one of the new ones, or multiple of the new ones if you have superiors.
- The new blueprint is a basic golem frame.
- You can get simple golem tools like basic fists and normal power cells etc, from citadel (perhaps even at no cost).
- Alternatively, you can walk your golem-with-no-upgrades (no waypointing) to a keep (only keeps are allowed this upgrade) which has a NEW Golem Workshop upgrade.
- In the golem workshop you can and get superior golem parts –
(Optional: the parts available could depend on the type of golem workshop (there could be several different types, e.g. offensive, defensive etc) or even be dependent on the specific keep. - The golem workshop should allow golem repairs (perhaps at a cost, including supply of course)
The main reason to implement this is to get rid of the Omega golem blueprints which some people bought in their thousands when the exploit happened and which continue to blight WvW with 10+ Omega Golem rushes to this day.

Zerging makes sense superior numbers win most of the time that’s just life. I see the problem as there is nothing that encourages spreading ones troops out to protect battlefield assets as one would have to in life to get benefit from them. Which leads to a take it and go on to the next keep or supply attitude. The remedies to this are many but here’s some thoughts. Take and encourage claiming keeps. Let guild’s really beef up there defenses and that guild should be informed when that keep is being attacked. Also give those guilds and everyone on the map more credit the longer that keep stays under there control. I would go so far as to suggest no credit for taking it or minimal with the real point boost for keeping it!! With this one act the zerg loses it’s momentum people will want to defend to get the tick bonuses. You might even have a hard time gathering a zerg but it will probably be necessary to take the keeps back from those whose interest is now in keeping them.
What about a simple fix like giving us a reasonable way to gain badges that doesn’t involve mindlessly aoeing in a zerg trying to get as much loot tag credit as possible? There’s almost no incentive to roam solo or small since badge gain is entirely dependent on getting as many loot credits as possible. Give dolyaks and sentries a chance to drop a badge or two and maybe less people would be addicted to aoe gangbangs.

I was looking for something that would encourage more roaming other than the zerg. I don’t think a few badges from Dolyaks will help. Though it’s all pointless the game designers don’t get it and WvW is so flawed they would probably have to trash it and start all over. At least it’s still free so I come back every few weeks when I’m bored. Hope some thing good comes out before I’m to old to care anymore.
The first step to breaking up or giving alternatives to a zerg is…. actually have a flexible grouping system that supports custom forces.
We only have two ways to group. Either a 5 person group or a pin that attracts everyone in the zone. If you want to have more organized forces and then you need to have private/guild only squads for people to organize.
If people have options other than zerging then they will do it. But you have to have the tools to do it.
Nerf Superior Defensive Siege
- Nerf Trebuchet mastery to limit how much supply is destroyed from cows on players
And make it more WvW Rank points to obtain. 15 points for such a powerful supply drain is ridiculous.
Theres a reason a lot of organized guilds only go for fights because a lot of siege is overpowered making it near impossible to take a keep even a tower with 20-25 people.
Nerf Rally Mechanic
- Reduce amount of people that can be rallied from one person dying
- Disallow rallying off of non-player characters with exceptions to lords and supervisors
- Keep Lords can only be resurrected from a player spell once every 5 minutes

While rallies and hard ressing are larger zerg-friendly mechanics, you should consider Retaliation too. Using ranged strats on megaballs gets really complicated just because the game decides you should take 10k damage for daring to attack clumped players.
It’s the melee version of confusion that scales wildly with numbers. The ret nerf that went in wasn’t enough imo, because the scaling still makes it nuts in Voltron situations. Also consider that it’s a boring, unfun mechanic.
IDEAL CHANGE: Internal cooldown on how many retaliations can hit you every second.

Yes please, remove the aoe cap… I would love to see all of you whiners die instantly to my zerg who engages fights with 20+ seconds of retaliation on EVERYONE. You would ALL die INSTANTLY and that would be hilarious. Zerging is not mindless unless you run around flipping paper with some pug commander. An evenly matched zerg will wipe time and time and time again against the same zerg who knows what they are doing and are more skilled. (boon stripping stability, blasting nulls and blasting waters when needed, frost blasts etc..) You guys would poop your pants if you ran into a real zerg that isn’t just a bunch of pugs flipping paper. It’s skill based.
I support removing aoe cap but realisticly its not going to happen, anet has said before it would make the game extremely laggy.
Also, i missed this thread, great sugestions with the exception of nerfing defense siege
