No, it’s time for deployable cannons and repair hammers and more siege spam. And then it will be time for DBLs and supposedly balance and lag-fixes. And after that it’s gonna be time for scoring changes and nightcap nerf. And only after that it’s gonna be time to end the beta and start the tournaments.

Would t4 be able to participate or would they have to sneak peeks over the wall to see the matches? XD

Yawn…. a tournament will make fa drop down to t3 it might make you cry.

Nonsense, WvW is much to empty in Offtime. What do you want to show with a PvD-race?

The only tournament I would support is a 4h per week tournament, e.g. the first 4 hours after reset count for the tournament, the rest of the week is just for Glicko.

Tournaments altogether do not need to come in, what needs to happen is improving the gameplay of WvW. The suggestions thread is really the only thread worth reading, and maybe the crashes thread to see if you experience something that another has, and are provided a solution.

- scoring
- scoring in relation to populations/ timezones
- build templates
- improved squad ui (broken by colours/role (scout, havok, roamer, zerg) & maintaining ability to see team over anything else). This would help coordination within squads and answer why no one is dropping supply – squad says i got 80 more – little does commander know its 8 people on other side of map

• If I look around in EU and also NA-T2 thats less than 20% of the total players that play in these 80% of off-time.

• It doesn’t matter, if you are on at that time you count as participating if you are on at anytime during the (whole week) match. In fact I would propose to have achievemets like season 1, but you CANNOT make them in the 4h that count for tournament-scoring.

• The only thing that matters is: This is the only time where nearly all server are able to fill all 4 maps.

Meh, reset is at 10pm est, the only time zone that 4 hours would really benefit is pst primetime.
A 24 hour tournament after reset would be more reasonable in any case to include the entire server and time zones.

Just wondering, have you not seen all the complaints about unbalanced match ups?

FYI… there were permanent losses to the wvw playerbase after each tournament before… tournamnets are not coming back for a long time, and probably not in those formats.

Tournament… just say no. Every one has pretty much been a blow out in each tier for weeks on end. Far more stacked than typical games.

I vote yes! the last 2 (3?) have not done enough damage . Another one might finish the job.

No it is not. The game is far too unbalanced for a tournament to be in any way meaningful.

And with the state WvW is today and a tournament ontop of that? – Well, it won’t take much for that to happen.

I support this endeavor but only if what team you wind up on is entirely randomized which would make stacking improbable at best.

Plus I like combining servers with common nouns. Like ‘hole’, ‘sauce’ and ‘sack’.

Sorry, but anet has said they aren’t doing any more tourneys. They were awful, each and every one of them. Nothing good came out of it, and everything bad DID come from it. I don’t understand the logic of anyone who posts stuff like this.

Anyone remember HoD? I will never forget seeing the red ocean for the first time.

I also remember blobbing servers full of pvers fun to fight. Rolling 2vx and wrecking the poor nubs, so I say why the hell not at this point, the game mode can’t get any worse.

They need to fix this BS glicko system before they can even think about adding a tourny.

You see, that’s the kind of attitude that’s ruining WvW and this game altogether, good job good sir.

anet stated once that they dont want to do more wvw tournaments like the ones we had cause a internal data survey showed them that too many players leave the game after such wvw tournaments cause people wear themselfes out fighting for weeks.

I wonder what they will have for us , the game needs more competition.

I have to disagree with you, but here’s why:

This Game doesn’t really need more Competition. There’s already enough built-in mechanics to challenge All Players…if there were enough Balanced & Fair Match-Ups to be had.

This Game Mode…rather…needs a safe harbor…imho

A place where players can hang out. A place where Long Term Community is the Centerpiece.

It should be your Local Pub & Sports Bar…where you can play “Together” with Friends & Family from Any World Server…and not be kept apart by Fixed World Tier Match-Ups.

WvW should use the concepts of nurturing a Robust Ecosystem…that has it’s population naturally cycle, but renew itself with the Cycle of Life that allows for birth, growth, death, and even a re-birth of populations…in the grand scheme of things.

There’s a better Solution than artificially Manipulating Population & Scoring…imho.

Disagree.. WvW is nothing big a pile of stinky donkey poop right now. server linking etc… all terrible. Fix everything up first then do tournaments. Might I make a suggestion though that they lock the servers before announcing the tournament, this stops servers buying guilds and tanking down a tier (cough mag cough)

At least its fun taking on SBIs tryhard blob, siege hugging, and upgraded towers with multiple vets and still managing to take out 20% of their zerg

No, the current state of balance is to out of whack. They can’t even grasp the obvious when a linking happens that is clearly not healthy so, no they really shouldn’t try and do a tournament. I could see it now, T1 SF/DH/BG, followed by excuses about how their internal numbers suggested this was the most balanced match up for a tournament.

Our primary motivation for avoiding running another tournament, is that at the end of every tournament we saw a permanent dip in the number of players playing WvW. Presumably this was due to players burning themselves out during the tournament.

However, we can still run a poll to see if the majority of the community wants another 4 week tournament, even if it might be bad for the long term WvW population numbers. Though even if ‘running another tournament’ won the poll, we’d probably hold off until we get the scoring updates in.

- Even IF we get another tournament it won’t be anytime soon

WVW is no where near ready for another tournament.
