Adding Rune of the Lynx to WvW
Agreed, there should be far more rune’s with +25% movement speed.
I would like to throw my traveler runes in the trumpster but there is no better rune for that sweet movement speed bonus
cmon Anet it isnt too hard to add a rune, is it?

Agreed. Would be nice to have some 25% movement speed runes with bonuses catering to defensive & offensive options e.g; toughness + vitality or power + precision ones.
Yes please. /15 chars.

Power Build Condi Build
i would not mind this set for con rev
25% should be changed to base. Reaching for the stars: 33% should be base and the boon removed. Also, in combat movement speed reduction is dumb for many paragraphs of reasons.
Annoying the playerbase shouldn’t be a design goal.
they still think it boosts sales to make u play ur elite spec lines. so no rune of the lynx fool.
and 25% should never be the base move speed…..its alrdy too eez to get around the maps. if anything higher movepseed should have more tradeoffs than it alrdy does.
Not gonna argue about the incombat movement speed reduction….ur right it is dumb. I’m sure if overall max speed was just decreased we could have no incombat reductions and no issues.

Condi builds are already pretty dominant for roaming, are you sure this wouldn’t make them even stronger?
Yes. Anything to bring more build diversity, as meta has been stale for a loooong, loong time.
I think more speed in game is in general bad idea as it hurts the build variety.
Any runes that gives +25% should be removed as it is a powercreep and instead give all classes a couple of different ways to achieve speed. I never got the lack of swiftness in the necros, even while in combat for example.
I mean, come on at least some minor trait that guarantee long swiftenss on kills.
I was running Centaur runes when i was playing shatter mesm back in the days. It may not be scholar damage wise but the main power stat makes it not that bad and the swiftness uptime is pretty nice.

If they ever allowed the Lynx rune into WvW, you couldn’t give Travelers away.
While I do think that the +25% movement speed should be a luxury for those who seek it, I also believe there should be a few more runes that grant the +25% in wvw instead of just the one
The easiest way to more roaming build variety (because in-combat movement and out-of-combat movement are 100% different things) is to remove the out-of-combat penalty that a lack of 25% movespeed imposes.

It’s a bad idea to have more speed because it hurts variety, but you want a lot more ways to reach the speed?
Out of combat movement speed should be standardized, so that the +25% from signets, traits, and runes only applies while “in combat”.
+1
Also, some people in this thread seem to not know Superior Rune of Speed doesn’t exist.
Either Way, I agree with this thread

yes?
i thought the idea was simple enough but apparently isn’t: a rune\food\sigil that gives that extra mobility makes to have the speed over your builds. While having traits\skills to get it, makes you sacrifice something for it same if you can go for dagger\dagger(and trait) or the signet with the same necro you can get 25% speed.
Now that i think about it i realize every class have native access to speed in a couple of ways. So i think there is no need for such a runes.
About the out of combat idea i think is great idea for PvE. Not at all for PvP or WvW as movement speed is a plus where is important how long it takes for you to reach your destination.

The stats bonuses on traveler runes are kinda bad same as speed runes
at least Lynx comes with handy offensive stats

I can see it now, the zerk vs dire people will throw their hands up in utter confusion, and a new term will emerge “Speed Creep” (which is actually an oxymoron if you think about it), but it’d be funny to read the wvw forums afterwards on this one.

While I will agree that all classes do have access to +25% movement speed, just to achieve it, some would have to completely modify their own builds in order to receive that +25% movement speed. This would include either a full specialisation tree where the user would lose many major traits that have synergy with their build or a valuable utility slot that could be key to their play style. While sacrificing a rune for the +25% movement speed may have an effect on the strength of a player’s build, it would be nowhere near as detrimental to the build if they were giving up a full specialisation, trait, or utility. That being said, currently with the amount of movement speed runes we have being runes of speed and traveller’s, are rather lacklustre and none of them provide any significant offensive stats. I personally believe that there should be a rune set that provides a fair amount offensive stats so that those who lack the +25% aren’t pigeonholed into using the celestial stat spread of traveller’s or the vitality from runes of speed

He definitely brings up some good points! I feel that in many areas, our rune system has a lot of variety since there’s many condi, power, defensive and celestial stat options. However, there’s currently only 2 playable rune sets in wvw that give the +25% movement speed and are rather lacklustre stat-wise.
No thanks. This game mode doesn’t need more encouragement to run condi.
