1. Remove Boon/Condition meta by removing resistance as a boon and put it on gear. Make it work like toughness works with direct damage, the more you have less damage you take. Resistance on Gear. Then buff base direct damage for all profession abilities. I think this would provide some balance and give the players some choice if they dont wanna melt by conditions them let them gear the damage down.
Removing resistance tilts the meta towards full condi cancer. Why would anyone wanna get this special resistance gear and sacrifice stats? I just don’t get this idea.
The resistance would be a stat on gear much like Toughness, they would have to make new gear sets that would have it on it. So, for example Soldiers gear has Power , Toughness and Vit. Resistance gear( call it what you want) Would have Power , Resistance and Vit. There could be many combinations. It would work just like toughness, if you stack toughness you decrease direct damage, so, in this case if you equip lots of gear with resistance on it then you would reduce its damage as well. These are just ideas, but this one could work if done right.

I like the ideal of point for point counter combo but there needs to be a hard look at why condi dmg only needs one combo where power dmg needs 3.
I think that was the old balancing point condi never did that high of dmg as in most classes could only use 2 maybe 3 if you went all in on mostly long cd and you realty could not have high armor. Power dmg was very all in but it would hit very hard if you did go all in. Too much has been added to the classes torment was one condi too many and expanding existing condi types to classes who did not have it befor simply put too much to deal with for any one person.
To put it all back in line you need to make condi dmg effect need something else other then just condi dmg to make them strong and by doing so add in some very powerful all in builds with out having the super tank but at the same time make condi base effects with out this new combo much weaker.

Regarding resistance:
I would only remove that durability rune shares resistance.
