Q:
Anet working on maxing size of wvw grps to 8?
where did you get that idea from?
ele @ Gf Left Me Coz Of Ladderboard [vain] (EU) / Salty Strategy [PAIN]
I heard they want to make 24 man group using soon to be private squads with other improved commander tag functionality.
and they are gonna get the green tag made too :/
I can hardly see the point of that since many buffs/heals in game that player can put out for his party can affect max 5 people…

Old news , i know.
this doesnt make any sense
this doesnt make any sense
It would if Anet would let us know. I mean a simple whiff if this is or is never on the cards. Given that DAoC also had 8 player setups.

This doesn’t make any sense.
Because DAoC had 8 man teams GW2 should have it too? Don’t know if serious…
Boons are affecting a maximum of 5 people, so 8 in a group doesn’t make any sense. Maybe 10 or 15 but not 8.
I also don’t see where is the point. Unless they modify all aoe skills and buffs to affect 8 people, still it will be much more efficient having 5 people per party rather than 8. 3 people of the party would not give the buffs, heals, condi cleansing…

You can’t just make something up and then assume Anet is working on it. That’s not how reality works.
@Schtizzel : heard about GW1 before talking about DAoC ? Your first argument is invalid as Gw1 had 8 man parties.
For the second one, is that too hard to imagine a boon cap pushed to 9 instead of 5 ?
In GW1 all content was designed around 8-man parties. Dungeons, explorable areas and PvP was like that.
Now, IF there is any thoughts of doing this, which personally I doubt, everything must be changed (from skill limitations to dungeon content). Even the addition of allied NPCs (like heroes & henchmen in GW1) must be implemented cause, believe me, not everyone is keen on finding 7 others, instead of 4, to do a dungeon.
Bottom line… How can you tell if they plan something like that and what good would this do to the game?
