Yeah happened to us earlier in the week that lord was inbetween the double doors at green keep. Needless to say that wasn’t the way we got in the keep <.<
On the good side use it to your advantage! From what i understand the bug is simple. The lord comes back where he was killed. So when you are capping something like a keep. Kill the lord somewhere stupid.

I didnt take a picture of this one, (i dont know why) but the champ was in the gate wall this time. We all just attacked the wall basically.
You can actually check the time until the next upgrade finishes now. Just click the circle-icon of the structure on the map or mini-map. It even works for enemy structures.

And even if you couldnt kill the workers, the keep would not upgrade if out of supplies.
We often heard our commander telling roamers to go kill dollys when we wanted to starve it out or prevent it from upgrading, especially if it was about to be waypointed. It was an important task for friendly roamers and it was important for enemies. If a keep was under assault and waypoint at 99%… well suddenly that dolly became very important.
Now no one care about it.
I dont mind seeing the upgrade status on the minimap or the fixed tiers. But they need to be started manually and they need to require a certain amount of dollys instead of being on a timer. Would have loved to see a top to bottom tree choice to vary keep fortifications a bit, just minor touches. Like, you can choose T1 with a couple of fixed arrowcarts or T1 with a a treb and an extra oil over the door. Guilds would have an additional upgrade choice on claimed keeps.
But whatever, broken system is broken.

Well that sure beats it being troll war.
I would rather have a definitive factor that was easy to see, then new characters from the other servers, showing up every other day, and building 19 ballista at each supply camp se that we never have supply to upgrade.

@Coglin : it’s not because you was on a bad server with tons of troll that we have all sufer the same issue… On Piken we had some troll but not all the day… Even not all weeks..
And those players should be banned from WvW… Now all the community is punished because of those troll.

They successfully trolled the whole wvw community if the auto-upgrades were their doing!

I support to ban all troll…. Not to remove something that was interesting to play (at least for me).
It’s not because we have thief in real life that we remove money…. We catch those thief and send them in jail…

A troll can justify and present an argument for a lot of what they do. They can create siege that they intend for supply wasting, but you cannot ban them for building siege on walls or around camps.
As well, it is not very rational to have a system that allows troll and pay manpower to deal with them, when you can simply have a system that doesn’t benefit and support trolling.

I feel a little sad if your having difficulty differentiating “real life” and the “game”. But there is a difference, they have different rules.

I see so many hacker, I had one in my friend list… Each week his team was against us we see him going on our map, taking stuff by WP inside keep and killing lord from underground… This guys was reported hundred time, but we see that guy again and again… He was reported from his own server… But nothing… Don’t tell me that anet was doing something about that…
And when someone build plenty siege everywhere (like rams), again and again you can tell that this guy is detroying the game.
And yes, I saw a lof of video of this troll, but generally anet don’t do anything about those guys…

There are solutions to supply-trolling that don’t break roaming and make camps/dollies worthless.
The most obvious one being split supply into building and siege supplies. Which is effectively what they already have done, they have just chosen to go one step too far and have “building supplies” auto-generate on the objective.

Oddly taking a defended keep has less to do with the auto-upgrade than it does in the supply they have. It might take longer to get through a wall/gate but that objectives supply is effectively what protects it at least in T1. The old adage starve the supply still works.

the fix for your troll was the minor supply drop tactic. it gives you 100 supply at the pull of a lever. Just unlock it for about 250 G and then use it for 5 gold at a camp.
Auto upgrades aren’t the solution. There needs to be a way for assaulters to prevent an upgrade, not just slow it.

Killing yaks, escorting yaks, flipping sentries are all direct point contributions. They do not add to PPT
And roles did fundamentally change. A roamer can slow an upgrade, but cannot prevent one as before. If you cant grasp that difference, I don’t think I can help you.
Your playstyle may not have changed much, but as you can see it has greatly effected others. Its likely a difference in how WvW is played between tiers. Small groups are a large part of lower tiers. Unpreventable auto upgrades and increased supply costs on siege make strategically flipping an objective much more difficult.

I am not sure how what your suggesting (seems kind of shady that you presume to speak for me) but I do not see anything particularly subjective about all the daily threads complaining about siege trolls, supply trolls, and hackers under maps. I haven’t seen a single complaint on those yet.

My server has already lost 2 commanders, and it’s only gonna get worse if things dont change soon

Yet you do see something subjective about the daily threads on how the new borderlands killed roaming. Which was my point. Nothing shady about it. Just pointing out that when the daily threads promote your point of view you point to them and say see I’m right. But when they don’t you ignore them or better yet pretend like they are playing wrong.

It is easier than ever to see upgrade progress for structures that you do not own (by just left clicking on it) so if something upgrades on you while you’re attacking it, that’s your fault for not checking the upgrade status before hitting it.

We can definitely use a bug fixing patch, some of the issues are really annoying.
-In EBG our keep is constantly contested, it’s not from enemy players, something is causing to be contested all the time.
-Keep/tower lords randomly placed, sometimes outside.
-Walls with graphical glitch that keep flashing.
-Walls/gates that you have to take down 2-3 times. Meaning we knocked down a reinforced gate, only to have to knock down the regular gate afterwards, and again before the gate was opened.
-The oasis event causes severe lag where characters warp around on the screen for everybody in the zone at the time of the event. Severe skill lag even though there’s not a 3-way battle, just some groups of players. During this event we had players randomly take fall damage even though we were running on flat ground, some even have died.
Really Anet, some of these issues are quite serious and they really hinder player’s enjoyment. I get that WvW isn’t as important to you as PvE/sPvP, but we really could use a bug fixing patch sooner than later. Thanks.

Got to say, auto upgrading has both positive and negative effects. The biggest issue is mismatches, where it gets to the point almost everything is t3 and the smallest server has zero chance of taking back anything and just gives up for the week.
The timer has now become much more important, but for a small group it’s not always possible to time your attacks so the thing doesn’t upgrade half way through.
Got to say, auto upgrading has both positive and negative effects.
What positive effects can you name, aside from supply trolling upgrades (which isnt solved due to autoupgrades, just separating player supply) or cost (which have nothing to do with autoupgrades)?
